This is right up my alley. I make cards all day, every day for cancer patients. I have papers from early 2000 still as well as stuff that is more recent. I follow a few people on YT that show ideas on how to make as many cards as possible with a paper pack. Or a layout where you make several cards from 1, 12x12 paper. We make and collect donations all year long for the patients and have a massive give a way drawing every November.
I NEVER thought about coloring the pattern paper. Why is that I wonder? This is why I come to your channel. You always have amazing ideas. I especially have lot of pattern paper. I'm addicted to pattern paper. I think I need help! LOL Anyway, thank you so much for all of these ideas and all of the other wonderful ideas on your channel. You are such a blessing to me and I'm sure to all of your subscribers here on RUclips. Have a wonderful weekend!
My weakness is buying beautiful pattern paper. Sometimes it is a struggle then to pull a card all together with a very busy background. Thank you, thank you for these ideas. As someone else commented, to add color on pattern paper never crossed my mind- what a game changer! Thank you for all your practical, but very creative ideas! You never disappoint!
Being a scrapbooker and card maker, I have tons of patterned paper, so this will definitely be a technique I will use. Thank you for sharing these beautiful cards. ❤
Love the idea of colouring pattern papers so thank you so much. I really love the little bird dyes and the card you made with them. You never cease to amaze me Jennifer. 💕💕💕💕
Beautiful cards as usual. I love that Memory Box, Birch Press and Poppy Stamps puts this kind of unique detail into their products. I'm always amazed by you and your ability and talent to come up all the new card ideas. Thank you, for being in this industry. ❤🧡💛💚💙💜
OMY Goodness - you have really flipped my lid this time, in the very best way. Forget visions of sugarplums dancing in my head. My head is swirling with all the "unlovable" patterned papers that I can ink into something that I actually want to use! I am cracking up that it never occurred to me to ink an entire piece of patterned paper to change it into something that works much better. Thanks ever so much - I love your ideas.
So appreciative for the talent you share with the world. I always get so much inspiration from your videos. Im going to go check out my pattern papers. Thank you for posting your traditional type of video. I appreciate the significant details and concentrated content in these videos as compared to lives. You are a great teacher of cardmaking techniques!
WOW! So many tips in a scant 30 minutes. Jennifer, you have no idea how you've changed my cardmaking. I no longer only use dies and purchased embellishments. I now use a variety of techniques and I'm loving what I'm learning and doing. THANK YOU!
OMG!! I love patterned paper and anything Nordic!! You combined the 2 and I’m in heaven!! Superb examples here....I need to make a bunch of Thank You cards this weekend for the wonderful people that made my Mom’s memorial service so special last weekend and I think what you’ve made here is absolutely perfect! TYFS your wonderful talent!! ❤️🦋💜
Fantastic ideas, tips and tricks for using patterned papers. I need to put them to use to address my abundance of beautiful papers. Thank you Jennifer. 🇨🇦🧑🏻🦳
Lynn Le Bel Thank you Jennifer for the fantastic idea and tips!! I love how you have the visual link to the products!! So easy to see the items I wanted a further view of tgat I am considering purchasing.
So helpful! I'm, like you, drawn to the lovely patterns and then am stuck for how to use them. Never occurred to me to ink them and I love ALL of these tips. Truly!!!
oh I needed this! Beautiful cards. Sometimes I worry that I am "cheating" by using patterned paper - crazy, I know...Anyway, thank you for giving me permission to dig them out and use them more. Thank you!
LOVE these ideas! I forget about these companies though have a lot of poppies dies. There are too many products for the time I have to craft. Thank you for the awesome job you do keeping us creating! Can't buy it all, but I love the variety!
Ooh keep the pattern paper tips coming. Also- and I always forget this.. pick pattern paper first and find card stock to match, and not other way around. Saves time.
Love this video! I too have lots of pattern paper that I have no idea how to use it up! Thank you, Jennifer, I love your creativity!!!! Beautiful cards!!
Traditionally I don't gravitate towards birds or butterflies, but I have to say I found these cards using patterned paper captivating. I can't wait to give it a try!
omg it has never even occurred to me that I can ink patterned paper 😱 game changer !! I love patterned paper but I struggle to use them creatively, thank you for this video!
My weakness is beautiful pattern paper. This often results in a problem bringing a bold background with die cuts. Thank you for your practical and creative ideas.
I have so much patterned paper- great ideas and beautiful cards. Just the idea to add ink to the paper was another wonderful Jennifer idea. I have sent this video to a few on my friends who will feel the same way. Thank you!
So nice to hear a RUclipsr using the normal term ‘patterned paper’ ! So refreshing 🤗 I love using plaids& like your cards. I get my dies, stamps, & embossing folders from Dollar Tree, Temu & other really cheap sources cause I cannot afford the expensive stuff & in fact see no need for it! The inks, tho - I find they are worth spending a bit more to get better quality.
…I had planned to split the video in half, and work on some chores I need to complete, but once I started viewing, I was mesmerized and couldn’t stop the video!! WOW, Jennifer… just WOW! What great Products, Fantastic ideas, and incredible outcomes with all these techniques! Thank you for demonstrating. Planning my crafty weekend now! 🙌🏽
OMG! I was here to learn more about how to use up patterned paper and now I'm in love with the Memory Box plaid paper as it is so pretty. I have some patterned paper that I haven't used in years that came in a pack so now I know to try adding some ink to change it up. Thank you for that tip. Also, I loved your flock of birds for future use. Thank you for the video.
Your cards are always so pretty and even when it’s your first time making or doing a special technique they come out soooooo pretty:) I love seeing what you create:) I never really thought about coloring pattern paper:) tfs and God bless:)
Love making my own backgrounds. But also love patterned paper! I couldn't design all those coordinating patterns myself. This was fun...let's be honest, making our own backgrounds requires more materials (=more money!) Certainly can see why card making companies promote this new(er) trend (although of course techniques and styles naturally change over time as well.) And I genuinely enjoy doing so and willingly buy the products I need to create them - but there's nothing wrong with the older, less-expensive way of using patterned papers, either. Many are really beautiful, like mini art! So delightful to see this video that promotes using designer paper, especially some that might be more "busy" or appear difficult to use well, and for Jennifer's "permission" to do so - after all, if Jennifer McGuire uses them, so can we all!
I love your ideas! Some I do already like colouring the paper to reduce the contrast but I love the purple with the purple birds. The cut out window are a great idea!
Thank you for all you share with the crafting community. 😍I love the idea of using shiny black cardstock to make sentiments stand out. Would you share which cardstock you are using?

Congratulations I am impressed with you volunteer card making. You inspire me, maybe not as large of a project, but more cads to donate. Thank you
What organization do you give the cards to?
I love that you donate ♥️
Do you expect donations of patterned paper, if so where do you live? @Cards4Cancer This is amazing of you.
I’m wondering that too!
Jennifer, you are definitely "the Card Wizard". Thanks so much for the inspiration. 🇨🇦 😊 ❤
