First time visiting after your video popped up in my feed. Watched because one of my 2024 resolutions is to become comfortable using printed papers on my cards. I love it, purchase it, stash it, but rarely use it… Thank you for providing so many great ideas, and for sharing your beautiful examples.
Thank you so much Susan! I know exactly what you mean about not using it - I have to force myself to cut into it sometimes and I find myself hoarding all the teeniest, tiniest scraps! 😂💕💕
January 2024. I've got beautiful papers. Then, I have books rescued from the library dumpster because of extensive damage. Thanks for your ideas. Tina, Al's wife
I usually don’t comment, but I’m pausing the video to tell you I love your work! You gave me some ideas and I’m excited to get in my craft room after while!
This older video popped into my feed today and I love all the information and inspiration. Don’t know why I never saw it before. Now I’m going to search out more old postings!
I have not made any cards in a long time. You just 'popped' up and I watched. Such a useful and inspirational video. Makes me want to get off my duff. Loved the Stick n Seal idea, loved the weave too...oh heck, loved it ALL. I can see I'll be wanting to see more of your talent. Will L&S.
Thank you so much for your kind comment! I hope I’ve been able to inspire you a little to resume your card making and I hope it brings you great pleasure! ❤️❤️
Thank you for sharing your craft and the papers are gorgeous. What I do with my extras or things I decided I'm not going to use anymore after I clean my studio is I posted on Marketplace. But I only post it for teachers and they do have to verify they are working teachers. This has worked out GREAT!!! Especially special needs teachers.
I'm not sure how I stumbled onto your page but I am super happy that I did. All of your creations here are absolutely amazing and so stunning. Thank you for sharing!
I’ve just come across your channel and wanted to tell you how helpful all your ideas are! WOW, I wish I could remember all these amazing ideas and techniques! Thank you for sharing your talents!!
I totally agree with all the wonderful comments Karen, it is true I don’t believe you realize how creative you are. Thank you for sharing your creativity with us. I have lots of patterned paper and now lots of great ideas to try.
I just Happened on your channel, and I was very impressed with the variety of different cards you had. I, too, have a problem with pattered paper as most card makers do, but you sure helped out! thanks for sharing.
Each card was just so beautiful! You created cards that are more unique than any I've seen online or in the store! This really stretches the creative envelope.
I've not crafted for a few years as had lots going on and moved a couple of times. Been trying to get my craft cupboard organised and get back into crafting. Found lots of patterned paper that i never know how fo use, exempt as you say the softer, less contrasting papers or polka dots or simple patterns so searched for ideas and found your video. Love your ideas! Especially like the strips and gilding flakes abd that twisted fan one, but lots of great ideas. Thank you
WOW! All of us crafters have that closet or drawers filled to the brim with patterned paper. Loved all of your ideas for using up that part of my stash. Thank you so much for sharing your thoughts and ideas!
Your channel just happen to appear on my page and I'm so over joyed that it did😊❤ I have so much pattern paper that I kept telling myself; " don't buy anymore pattern paper until you use up all that I have. Your greeting cards are so stunning and exquisite that I'm excited to give them a try. On another channel, can't remember who's channel it was though she had put embossing powder over the top of the double side tape and than heateded it up with her heart gun & it really turned out lovely 😊❤. I'm adding that way to my list of trying it out also. I truly enjoyed watching your video & your voice is so sweet and calming that it helped me to relax. I could listen to your voice all day long & nights when I'm restless. Thank You for sharing with us. Sending Love, Hugs and Blessings to you and your Family and your RUclips Family ❤ Xoxo Vicki from the United States in the State of Utah 🍯🐝😍❤😊❣
Thank you so much Vicki! I’m just as happy that you found me too! 😄. The embossing powder does work really well with that grouting technique too and I especially love it when it’s a metallic powder. There’s just something about all that shine! 😄💕💕
Outstanding cards and ideas! Your creations are amazing. I have the same issues with colourful, busy, and highly contrasted papers. You have demonstrated beautiful ways to use these kinds of paper. Thank you. 🇨🇦
Wow Karen! I can’t believe how many gorgeous cards you made!! Such amazing ideas, and so beautiful!! Thank you so much for sharing, I have soooo much pattern paper, maybe now I’ll be able to get some cards and envelopes made!! Thank you so much for sharing and inspiring me!!!😀❤️👍🏼
Awww, thank you so much Liz! I have oodles of that patterned paper too, so I also have to do more with it. I really do appreciate your continued support! 🤗❤️❤️
Absolutely stunning cards! Every one of them is inspirational! I would love to see a video on how to choose the different patterned papers to go together. These are very inspirational examples!
Thank you so much! That is a fun way to use the leftover strips of cardstock. I’ve also tried adding them to mirror cardstock which gives a similar result without the mess of the flakes. 😄💕💕
Your channel just popped up and I wanted you to know how much I enjoyed your designs. Although I've been a papercrafter for many years, you have introduced me to a plethora of new ideas! Beautuful creations and wonderful instruction. I was mesmerized!
OMG thank you for posting this. I have sooooo much dsp or pattern paper, I have been tearing out a few in a pad of it, and donating the balance to local elementary schools.
You are so welcome Virginia! I know exactly what you mean too as I gave away loads of mine to the Goodwill. And then I just felt guilty for having bought it in the first place! 😅❤️❤️
This is the first video I've seen of yours and everything is so beautiful! I'm a beginner and hope to achieve some pretty cards. Thank you for showing so many ideas 🌸
Oh, thank you so very much Mary - that’s really kind of you! I’m sure you will make lots of beautiful cards. My best advice I could give you (which is the same as what I tell myself over and over…) is that it’s a process and every time you try, you will get better and better. Besides it’s only paper and still better than a store bought card. 😅💕💕
I happened up Craft Consortium papers a couple of weeks ago and fell in love with them. Graphic 45 and Consortium Papers are definitely my favorites! I got Made By Elves in Simon Says Stamp December Kit and those papers went very quickly.
They really are beautiful papers! I saw a lot of the Made by Elves cards that people made on Instagram with their SSS kits and loved them. That’s a really beautiful, nostalgic collection. 💕💕
Gorgeous cards! Wow! Love the "Thanks a Million" fan card. Looks like a designer card from a very high-end artsy store. The "Have a Warm and Cozy Christmas" and "Welcome Little One" card are adorable and the poinsettia card is so classy.
Even though this video is 2 years old, you gave some pretty examples that I will now try to incorporate. I'm trying to use what I have this year. So this really helps. Thanks for sharing.
Thank you so much Elizabeth! I’m also trying to use up my supplies this year and not waste them. It’s going to be a slow process to get to the end of them! 😂💕💕
Thank you so much Chiria, both for your kind comment and for subscribing! I think we have all struggled with making cards, but the good news, is that we all get better at it with practice! 😄💕💕
These are beautiful cards! Thanks so much for sharing your tips for using our (extensive collections!) printed papers. I will have to check out your other videos! ❤️🇨🇦
Thank you Maxine! There are so many things you could buy when starting out, that it can be very overwhelming. You are probably best to just start with some coordinating inks and a few stamps and dies until you get the feel for what you really enjoy. And have fun! 😄💕💕
Thank you, Karen.. This is a treasure trove of card techniques and design ideas! I’ve subscribed and look forward to trying some of these. At 81, I’d better get started or I’ll never get to use all my ideas. Or, YOUR ideas, but it’s fun even just to see your cards and techniques. You’re a great teacher, I’ve subscribed.
Love all the inspiration. Absolutely needs to be crafted into cards as have far too much patterned paper . Newly subscribed today after watching a fair few of your videos about guilding flakes . You’re an inspiration ! Keep em coming girl .
Oh Julie, thank you so much for that sweet comment! It still takes me a minute to cut into some of that patterned paper, but I’m always happy I did in the end. 😄❤️❤️
Loved this video! So many good ideas for the tons of pattern paper I've collected. I especially liked the card you made with the Made By Elves paper. Can you tell me what kind of fold that is so I can find a tutorial for it somewhere? Thanks for all your great ideas!
Thank you so much Betsy! I’m so glad you found some inspiration in the video. The Made by Elves card is a theatre fold card and I’ve done a few videos on them. Here’s a link to one of them - ruclips.net/video/JB2n7SHtknQ/видео.html. I hope that helps! 💕💕
Your cards are just gorgeous! I love all the ways you came up with using different pattern papers. I have so many pattern papers myself, and now I have some ideas on how to use some of them up. Thank you so much for sharing 😊

Thank you so much Aileen! I am definitely not the best person at pulling out my patterned paper so this was really to help me think about using it. I’m glad you found it helpful too. Merry Christmas to you and your family! 💕💕
Thank you so much Barb! Those patterned papers can be quite the tricky conundrum - I am usually terrified to cut into them, but having done so, I love the papers on my cards! 😂❤️❤️
Thanks, you use up things we have, make creative choices to do beautiful cards, and we get to use up our own stash of papers. I am eager to see what other ideas you have.
Thank you so much Julie! That card that pulls out on both sides is a theater fold style card and I’ve done a few videos on it and have a playlist here - ruclips.net/p/PLhbE8ThIROcQKXXkgMdOXoO0fLHaB0VfW&si=d9aEcjylbIUVwlUe. It’s a really fun kind of card to make and I love that you can have two different scenes in one card. 😊❤️
Your cards are so beautiful! I have a lot of patterned paper as well and I came across your video and watched for inspiration, and after watching I subscribed immediately 😀 Seriously, you are a very talented cardmaker! I'm so happy I found you.
Your cards are beautiful, stunning, and unique. I love how your cards are not busy and have a nice balance. I learned a lot from this video. Thanks for sharing.
Oh my word Karen your cards are spectacular! I hope you will be showing us how to make all those different cards! Several here I have never seen made elsewhere!!
Boy am I glad RUclips put this video in my queue! I have patterned paper (the watercolor one on the left I just loved, so I bought it. Haven't done a thing with it! ), I have sticky paper, interesting dies and gold leaf and probably more that I can't remember, but have done NOTHING with them. I have subscribed and will save this video. Can't wait to see your other ones. Thanks so much for an AWESOME VIDEO!!

These cards are creative and gorgeous! How about a tutorial on the card where both sides pulled out!!! I loved that card!!!

Thank you so much Kim! I’m so glad you may have found some inspiration in the video and I hope you’ll make great use of all that pretty paper! 😄❤️❤️
