I feel like you drive the way the creators of this car intended it to be. Pushing this car to its absolute limit and demolishing stronger cars (with some slower drivers). Excellent driving!
Hey dude I just wanna let you know that I live in the city and I’ve been trying to find tracks so when I get a car I know where to go! At first it seemed impossible but after watching your videos you have me hope and made me want to actually give this a shot so thanks man! Hope I see you on the tracks some day
Hey man! Just wanted to say I love your videos. I've been taking so many pointers for Watkins Glen from your videos, and you've helped improve my racing lines tenfold. Though it would be sick if you added gearing next to the RPMs on the video screen. Would be sick what gear you're in for each turn.
Sweet video! I always want to come drive there. I do have an advice for t1 from my sim experience. Middle apex of t1 is notoriously hard to hit, instead i started trying different line going through there. I found that going late apex for t1 is super beneficial for that never ending up hill section. I have noticed that you turned before the T1 left cone, i wonder if you dealy a little of your turn in. Will it set up t1 better for you? Cheers
How are you able to do track days at Watkins Glenn? Are you part of a club/organization? I live pretty close, ~2 hours away and I've always wanted to but never found a way that wasn't like, a grand for a few days on track.
Any info on the car? I have a brz as well and was wondering if you’re still running the original engine and trans, my trans seems like it’s on its way out
yep! only issue I've had is a coil pack failure due to heat which is a known issue on the 2013 and 14s I follow this for maintenance: www.counterspacegarage.com/blog/toyota-86-subaru-brz/recommended-maintenance-guide-for-toyota-86-subaru-brz/
@@dadhats did you go with the quads or their plasma? Not sure if it’s worth double the cost to go with the plasma if I’m just tracking and staying bone stock

Does your lap timer give you a theoretical best lap by adding up your best sectors? You're not allowed to beat my PB until I return in 2025 :) Trackdays need to take a backseat next year, GR Corolla payments are squeezing me dry.
Nice job, Mr. Hats. Thank you for sharing! Also for the Ferrari reference!
thank you!! glad you appreciated that hahah
This is definitely a track that I want to drive one day! I do it a ton on iRacing and all of the elevation changes make it feel like a rollercoaster
it's amazing! I practiced on iracing before I went and it feels wayyy more insane irl especially the toe of the boot and turn 10.

appreciate it man!
awesome video as usual. i've had my brz for 3 weeks now and your content truly inspires me to become a better driver. keep up the amazing work!
i think that was a gen 7 celica at the 6:59 mark. I have never seen one besides mine on a track.

that's awesome to hear and massively appreciated! you got this bro 👊
one of the best tracks!
def the best I've ever been to!
Dude its always been a dream of mine to run watkins Glenn. Maybe next year.
it's amazing. def do it if you get the chance

I've added gearing in the past but unfortunately it doesn't record properly, it gives me a gear higher than I'm in
great driving!
Good video mate,

thanks man!!

Love the videos I watch all the track vids! Do you plan on competing?
thanks man!! I def have thought about it. I'm slowly building the car to be more competitive if I ever decide to go down that route
Love your videos. Feel like I’m in the car with you.

def didn't pay a grand lol this event with masstuning was around $300 I wanna say. check out motorsportreg.com
@dadhats This might already have been answered. Have you driven the new gen BRZ or 86 on one of these tracks yet ?
no I haven't, I wish. my understanding is it's pretty much the same chassis just with an extra 30ish hp
Any info on the car? I have a brz as well and was wondering if you’re still running the original engine and trans, my trans seems like it’s on its way out
yep original engine/trans. the trans in these has a weak point, the clutch fork. complete guess but maybe it's that?
@@dadhats could be, the car basically grinds every gear when I’m shifting fast
I’d love to see a g meter in this video
Just out of curiosity, are you still on the original engine? Any issues so far and what have you done to maintain it? Cheers!

@@Bvvbbx def a good idea while you're in there. I went with ignition project coil packs.

that would be cool maybe next season! focused on developing the car rn. have a diff and sway bars waiting to go on
hi
great fun

you drive so hard with this standard oil ?
how hot gets your oil on track (with yr oil cooler)
@@cayman9815 next season I will bump up the oil weight I think. don't know, my car doesn't have an oil temp gauge

yep best sectors in that session get added together.
that's rough, at least you have a gr Corolla? lol
great driving!
