    Thank you, from Tasmania. It took a gentleman on the opposite side of the planet to teach me how to use a rivet gun. Just fixed our aluminium back door for a fraction of the price of a repair man and very happy with the results. Again, thank you.

    Thank you for your video. I started a new job after 15 years with my former employer. I am taking a chance with this company by foolishly leaving public sector. I was tasked to put together a portable mounted demo alarm monitoring rack mountable equipment kit. Your video helped me put together the kit correctly by showing me how to use rivets to secure the each parallel metal rack to each side of the plastic enclosure. Your video helped put food on my daughter's plate and I am grateful. As they say in Hebrew, you did a Mitzvah! Thank you. I subscribed to your channel.

    I viewed 2 or 3 other 'how to' video's about using a riveting tool....and found this particular video the best of them all. The camera was 'on target' (not moving & shaking all over the place and the explanation given by the guy demonstrating using the tool was clear (even for somebody--like me--who's never used a riveting tool before.

    Don't you think that for a pan handle rivet shoud be inserted on the inside of the pan to have a better finish on the inside of the pan?

    Veeeeeeery well explained Christopher!! I am fixing my window motor in my car and at first I was complaining (and swearing, to be honest) because I saw only rivets under the door panel instead of regular nuts. After watching your video, I am ready to remove them all, buy my rivet gun and install my new window motor. thank you Christopher..

    Thanks Christopher, I wish I had the knowledge of rivets like these applicationsyears ago, I always used screws of some variety to fix and repair items aroundthe house,Have purchased a rivet gun and watched videos on their use.Never knew there were so many kinds of rivets and different uses for them.Who would have ever thought to use rivets in so many ways.Thank you very much for your input and your teaching videos.Rick from Canada.

    Thanks for the informative and detailed video explaining the function and use of rivets vs tapping screws and specifically the use of a rivet gun.
    Most rivet guns I've seen are a comparable style, but due to lack of knowledge on the matter, I've opted for screws. Thanks to your vid, this will be changing.

    Good sir, I had no knowledge of riveters prior to this video , only knowing that for my job I needed one to secure particular items. Originally I thought I needed an expensive gun, not knowing a gun of such a low price would be what I truly needed. While a more expensive one might be purchased at a later date once experience has surpassed (or the job requires a larger one), this one you have linked looks to be fantastic. Thank you kindly so much!

    Really good, I was watching a video about kit car building and saw all these thin pieces of metal sticking out of the body work. They said they were going to rivet them and I didn't know what they were doing. They had clearly dropped the rivet into the body rather than trying to hold it in the gun. Good video, I would now feel confident about riveting thanks to this. I love you tube :)

    Sir, I want to thank you for your time for demonstrating the use/operating the rivet gun. In recent years I discovered if I need to know something utube it. I have purchased a windshield outside visor for my 63 vw bug it is aluminum with mesh and they recommend to use a rivet to install it. Thank you for taking the time to show the viewers how to operate one. Many thanks

    Before this video I thought a rivet gun was an expensive, dangerous power tool that would be impractical or impossible for home use. They look so clean and professional that I never considered the possibility that I could do them myself--and I'm an avid DIYer! Thanks to this well thought, clearly shot video, I now know exactly what I've been missing, and how easy it really is. I'll be ordering one momentarily, and expect it to become indispensable in my projects. Thanks so much!

  • @MyWagga
    @MyWagga  12 лет назад

    Hi John, sometimes they get stuck. All I do is to squeeze the riveter handles together and put a new rivet in. This will often push the old one out the back. As I havn't taken one apart before, I can't help you with that. Just get a better one or keep trying to figure it out how to put it back together. A drop of oil will often help to keep these tools functioning better.

    Great instructional video, thanks!
    For the guy who decided to pick up on his accent, he is simply speaking correctly for someone with a non-rhotic accent.
    Since Received Pronunciation is considered to be the 'standard' English accent, one could in fact argue that his version is more correct.
    Rhotic pronunciation does exist in Britain, but mostly in regional accents.
    I'm English and I speak with a non-rhotic accent too. My American wife understands me perfectly, just as I understand her despi

    Funny thing I looked at the rivet shanks being long and went off to the hardware store looking for smaller rivets.
    Realise now the shanks are disposable bullets and the end piece is the actual rivet. Always was non plussed by riveted product's. Now with a rivet gun projects like gutters and Windows are easy.👌

  • @MyWagga
    @MyWagga  11 лет назад

    Hi Cem, though I'm not an expert at this, as far as I can tell, you need a bucking bar, a bar with a small depression in it which will help form a solid rivet when access is available to both sides of the work, to enable the process to be successful. For blind rivets which are different, you don't need one. The tool I recommend does the whole process. Unless you are building an aircraft, you won't need one.

    Great video, thank you! About to replace the outer sleeve on an muffler.
    Only feedback on the video would be when it comes to drilling out the old ones. It's only mentioned that you want the "right size drill bit", but it's never mentioned what that is. My assumption is that you want a bit about the same diameter as the shank. Others could get really hung up on that step.
