HUGE THANKS to ExpressVPN for offering all Food Ranger viewers 3 months free and 49% off their yearly package using this link: ExpressVPN.com/Thefoodranger . Travelers need ExpressVPN to stay safe online and to unblock any site. I personally use it for Netflix, even while at home in Canada, but also while traveling to unblock content and episodes that are geoblocked, and I also use it for security, because airport wifi and hotel wifi is often very insecure, leaving my data vulnerable. By connecting to one of their servers around the world, it’s just like my computer or phone is in that location, and all data sent while connected to their VPN is secure, safe, and private from others to see, so I know that my data won’t be hacked or looked at by others. Thanks so much for watching, and we have tons more videos coming up for you! Please leave me a comment below letting me know what you thought about this episode, thanks so much!!!
You must had a visit to taltala where in the muslim area there is restaurant named “Naz” where the kala vuna and biriyani is amazing. The most attractive spot is the Yashodha mishtanno vandar where the laencha is delicious.
We are loving your show and have become a regular watcher now. Even my grandmother who has Alzheimers and can not understand a word nor read the subtitles, now looks forward to seeing the show (and that is so huge for us, thank you!!). Every few seconds or so she says 'so Colourful!' oh 'he looks so happy!' 'Doesn't this make you want to travel there?' and this from a women who never leaves the house and has gone from the most incredible Native Indian cook and best Chili sauce around to having to coax her from just eating ice cream. Keep up the good work and the amazing travel food logging!!
I'm from Mauritius.. Due to Food Ranger, I went to India n stayed for a couple of weeks. Best Holiday ever!!! Undoubtedly the best food I've ever tasted..

Reading comments on Indian Street food videos, I have come to a conclusion that there are two types of people who watch Indian street food videos- 1. People who are just there to comment all about hygiene. No matter how much the cook/chef cover himself up and follow hygiene standards, if he is Indian, they will find some or other fault and start blabbering about hygiene. 2. People who truly enjoy watching street food videos.
It's not because they're Indian, it's because it genuinely seems dirtier than other places. Go look at Trevor's Vietnam/Thailand/Indonesian trips, street food vendors in those places are much more hygienic so noone complains about cleanliness on those videos.
I went there 20 days ago and stayed 3 days. Good food in the cheapest rate. Sik kabab, dal fry, Charmin, Masal tea with ginger flavor, Amazing. Validity of my Indian visa is going to end on next October. I must go again.
Disheartened to see so many hatred comment against India and its cleanliness. We are not living by choice, it's the infrastructure problem and we are trying hard to improve it. We happily live with harmony having diverse culture and religions. Try to appreciate some good parts rather commenting with biased view. Your hatred comments may not necessarily improve Indians, your kindness and love definitely spreads positivity in us.
Jarren Ong I think every Indian is aware of the existing problems. The problem arises when a whole bunch of idiots post nasty comments sitting behind their computers so some Indians have no choice but to get on the defensive. This comment box in particular is nasty as hell. I suppose RUclips gives them that privelage but there's no reason to unleash your hatred on a group of people just because you dint like something. We are working hard to improve the standards in our country in every aspect. Remember that some countries like China were in a similar developing phase not too long ago.
Well of course. But Indians have drawn the ire of many people by posting comments like "INDIA SUPERPOWER 2020" Is that called for? Why are Indians the only ones posting such comments? Do they have an inferiority complex? Are they so arrogant???? Which is why i said very rare to see an indian admit to anything wrong with their country.
I love how Trevor is so down to earth and humble, mingling in, engaging and shaking hands with the locals. It's an authentic experience of the culture , not just the food. Love it!
Hey! First of all, I absolutely love your videos. They captivate and cause me to salivate DAILY. Suggestion: I thought it might be a nice idea to create a cumulative video of all your 10/10 dishes that you've come across throughout your travels. Just a suggestion! Happy travels!
That was some unintentional comedy at 9:02 Trevor: One egg chicken roll Cook: Double chicken roll Trevor: Double egg ya? Cook: Single egg double chicken?' Trevor: Double egg Cook:Double chicken? Trevor: Single chicken Cook *finally understands* Trevor: double chicken sure :D Cook: O.o
boy there are a lot of nasty comments about India and its people :-( Its not my cup of tea either but I know world travellers who rate India high on their "best places to visit" so it must hold a lot of great things. Dont be so judgemental people...its not nice. Great video Trevor and Ting :-)
Well some of its true, we admit that but the only problem is most people believe all of India is like this. Also thank you for the positive attitude 👍🏽
You are always respectful even when you meet some people who are just a different continent equivalent of a KFC/McDonald's worker and doesn't care what they serve you. Keep up the good work.
I'm watching this because of a friend who lives in kolkata. He told me how beautiful kolkata is and because of this video I now agree with him. I wanna go there and eat all of this food. I can't wait to go here someday and meet him❤️

Yes, I feel cheated looking at that !!! I would not go to that place again. He asked for double chicken. That barely looked enough for single chicken !!! Not good.
YEESS! I thought of the same thing, also, the roll looked pretty empty from the top with less onion filling and I have eaten Kolkata rolls all my life, sometimes two a day and that was odd.
I'm not from India but i honestly don't care about the cleanliness level here. It may not be super hygienic but it sure seems good to eat. It's just that the infrastructures and utensils look a bit old and stained. Wearing gloves doesn't change anything if u scratch ur butt with the glove on. Hands are fine as long as they r clean. The food looks absolutely gorgeous btw Cheers
Thanks..you made my day..we eat street foods evry day but we are healthy and never got any diseases and it is very cheap price compared to any restaurants in India.
I am your long-time subscriber and I have observed that a majority of your Indian videos had the most 9s and 10s ranges of awesome food.. loved it... and thanks for visiting my City of Hyderabad as well, it was one of the best tours you had.. our food is neither bland nor too much spicy, it is perfectly full of balanced flavors. Here in Canada, I am missing my country's food damn so much, here everything is bland and tasteless and just raw boiled meat with salt and pepper being served by various names of various countries.. haha
Hop on down to NYC for some great Indian roti and Indian food. Last week on TV I saw an Indian chef he recently opened a restaurant. Prices look affordable. www.paowalla.com/
Sure I will as I am a huge foodie... after seeing Trevor's video of Nasi Padang and chicken satay in Indonesia, I did try it in Canada, but it was sweet.. may be just like the 90% dishes here which are with hint of sweetness like honey chicken, etc, many other cuisines are modified to the tastebuds of north americans... To the extent, the indian food i tried here in many indian eateries in British Columbia is not authentic indian as well, I will save some money and open up an authentic Hyderabadi restaurant in the future, then the masses will see and taste how flavorful food needs to be and will agree with me that food is not meant just to be gulped up for producing energy to work.. haha
Sajjad Aly nasi padang is spicy type food. So many curry type food. Rendang kaleyo, daging cincang (like beef curry) I remember my friend who live in UK said rendang in UK is not spicy tasteless. If you eat satay yes it is sweet taste.

stinkcake you will mate but you won't get that taste. I stay in the Middle East and we get all this here, but the actual taste can only be felt in India.
The food Ranger is inspiring people that how we live in different places he tells the culture of all countries As an Indian I hope you enjoyed your trip
Lovely !! Being a Calcuttan, I would recommend you not to miss out on other street food like Chicken Kabiraji from Mitra Cafe in Kolkata and tibetan and chinese delicacies from Tiretta bazaar! Do give it a shot!
Why are people complaining all the time how dirty it is. At least show your respect to every one and every culture bevor you judged. These Indian people look friendly and earn their money by hardworking.
bruceownsu I understand. But the point is, should we take our standard to criticise another culture. I’m sure they live in totally different circumstance. We can’t expect that they have everything as we do, when people struggle so hard to get rid of poverty and try to survive every single day.
bruceownsu Your myopic, narrow minded view of a society which you have no experience of is reflected directly by your inability to understand why this is the way it is. India has a fundamental problem with its infrastructure and therefore her people are suffering. Yet despite all of this, the calamity and the difficulty, they still follow their passion and have some of the most amazing food in the world. You don’t have standards, you’re an entitled brat.
Thank you- my favorite Food Ranger. And I'v been just waiting for long years to come to Kolkata. besides its one of the world's greatest foods with very reasonable price, to myself Kolkata is a different thing to me. It's a historical and traditional place -- every brick, every thing and every inches of Kolkata would attract me and give me pleasure. I wonder when I would come to Kolkata and stay for some good time to just walk and enjoy Kolkata. And a hearty love to people of Kolkata who have a kinship from time immemorial. And my ever gratefulness to India as well as Kolkata for supporting us in our great liberation war 1971. Once again , love from Bangladesh for great Kolkata.
@@inhalesbleach3071 India is a very diverse country. One mistake most foreigners do is to think Hindi is our national language, which is clearly not. So, in most Hindi speaking regions, it's called Bhelpuri. However, Kolkata is in the state of West Bengal, which speaks Bengali. Hence, in Bengali it's called "Jhal muri". Jhal means spicy and muri is the puffed rice. Hope I helped. Take love....
Dude! My mouth is literally watering by watching this. And its midnight here in Indonesia which means i have to go out to find some delicious food, or maybe go to the fridge and find something to eat! Oh my God!!!! 😂 just keep up foodrangin', Trevor! Much Respect!
to those who complain that street food in india is dirty. these will be the very people who will survive if there will be world hunger on the planet. Indian food is one of the best.
Johanness it's not called chai tea. It's just chai. It is a worldwide misconception . Chai is the hindi word for tea. If you say chai tea, you just said tea twice.
In US I have seen people spit in the burger while preparing it out of frustration for their jobs. i was in technical department for a fast food chain. 7-8 days old meat, cold stored pickles, cheapest quality ingredients from sources that have zero respect for human health.. there goes your hygiene
My lord, the southeast Asians have some serious creativity and the way they season the food, in my opinion, is the worlds best. Our western bellies would some serious adjustment time lol.
I've been watching you for a while,I think you would be a huge hit if some tv station would make what you do into a food around the world documentary, you would be on par with Anthony Bordain and Andrew Zimmern or even better.Awesome videos o7
Came to the comments to see if a Kolkata resident was going to point this out! Trevor, I think the tang you felt was also because of the fresh mustard oil that is added to it (that's the golden stuff in the bottle that he chucked in before he added the coconut. It's deadly stuff. Also, Jhal Muri literally means spicy puffed rice :)
Hello What I know, right? I don't get it! Indian street food is sustenance for the working class and poor. No need to bash on how they cook it if you are not going to be eating it.
Everyone who says this dirty! On my first visit to Las Vegas I got sick when eating at Panda Express. I was sick to my stomach for an entire week and vomitted at least 10 times the first night. I thought I was going to die. Yea great American quality food LOL
True enough. If sanitation standards are not rigidly observed, you may get very ill. You get no guarantees. If you a warranty, buy an appliance then read the fine print exceptions. However, I'll stick with the odds of remaining healthy when eating in LV to munching on the street Indian or Chinese foods. But do as you please. I do not believe that Trevor has not experienced an explosive gastric episode in all his on the street dining ventures. I love The Food Ranger and I love Indian, Chinese and you name it. I'm more inclined to be a bit more discrete. OTOH, if you have a lot of people lined up including children, it is a good sign that the food is safe and delicious.
Love your show Trevor however, just a small correction. It's just Chai and not Chai Tea. Tea is called Chai in India. So if you call it Chai Tea, it's like calling Tea twice or Tea Tea. :P
love you Trevor James...I've really waited for you and your team to come to kolkata and try our best foods specially the food of Arsalan...and I am happy that you have reached to Arsalan...please visit Kolkata again....
Man this is like the 60th food review i watch from you and other people. This is exactly what I want to do, Travel and meet other people from different cultures and obviously try their food as well! I love your contents&others !!
Kolkata is beautiful. You should definitely travel to other states in india too. Its a bit country with vibrant cultures that differ in each state. Unlimited places to see and don’t get me started with the food. Also PLEASEEE tell me the camera you use😍😍😍
Hai...haters...i think you should watch Gordon Ramsey's Kitchen Nightmares...I have seen your cleaniness dere....years old frozen food from filthy feezers served by very handsome and good smelling people in a very clean environment.."WAKE UP"
Trevor james I recommend you to try sweets in kolkata as it has some of the best sweets in india . Some specialties like gullab jamun, rasgula, jellabi , kheer Kadam, rasmalie, pantuo and many more . I am your biggest fan
You should do a traditional Bengali feast here in Kolkata its delicious and awesome........and if you miss Chinese food you could go to Chinatown in Kolkata(Tangra) too...(its the only chinatown in India...).....btw love ur videos.....

It is really NOT hygienic. But the preparation is entertaining
On top of the fact that when you land in a major city, it smells like BO, and just nastiness.

Lovely !! Being a Calcuttan, I would recommend you not to miss out on other street food like Chicken Kabiraji from Mitra Cafe in Kolkata and tibetan and chinese delicacies from Tiretta bazaar! Do give it a shot!
What's calcuttan! It's Kolkata..
Tiretti bazaar? You sure bro?
OMG saffron tea love it. Kolkata is best place for non veg foodie's and sweet lovers in India.
Why are people complaining all the time how dirty it is. At least show your respect to every one and every culture bevor you judged. These Indian people look friendly and earn their money by hardworking.
bruceownsu - yet you're still a loser
bruceownsu I understand. But the point is, should we take our standard to criticise another culture. I’m sure they live in totally different circumstance. We can’t expect that they have everything as we do, when people struggle so hard to get rid of poverty and try to survive every single day.
Helen T ruclips.net/video/7cy6E-sJIRQ/видео.html
bruceownsu Your myopic, narrow minded view of a society which you have no experience of is reflected directly by your inability to understand why this is the way it is. India has a fundamental problem with its infrastructure and therefore her people are suffering. Yet despite all of this, the calamity and the difficulty, they still follow their passion and have some of the most amazing food in the world. You don’t have standards, you’re an entitled brat.
Don't complain if you have massive stomach ache on the next day...don't call yourself a human if you can consume dirty food..
Bengalis can't live without fish and arsalan's (park Circus) Biriyani.😀
Omg..I laugh so hard

Yes,kolkata have very reasonable pricing ....Agree !!!👍

7:58 It's not Bhel Puri
It is called "Jhaal Muri"!!!
@wtnomad it's Kachori...
it got different names... in different regions
Another comment says chena puri, I guess there are many names for it but definitely looking very yum! Love from Australia 🇦🇺
@@ananyapal14_11 oh I get it, thanks you explained very clearly! :)
Dude! My mouth is literally watering by watching this. And its midnight here in Indonesia which means i have to go out to find some delicious food, or maybe go to the fridge and find something to eat! Oh my God!!!! 😂 just keep up foodrangin', Trevor! Much Respect!
Thanks so much Salman! So glad to hear that!
The Food Ranger You're welcome, Trevor!
to those who complain that street food in india is dirty. these will be the very people who will survive if there will be world hunger on the planet. Indian food is one of the best.
maybe. but still diiiirddeeeyyy
+Ron Bron true a Poor people's country but have one of the most amazing food ever much love from California USA
Ron Bron
And you think your restaurants are clean? Boy are you mistaken.
Toby Hriatpuia Every country has poor people
HOW COME 1 OF THE BEST??? accept it so dirty!!!
That Chai tea looked amazing!! 💖💖💖
Johanness it's not called chai tea. It's just chai. It is a worldwide misconception . Chai is the hindi word for tea. If you say chai tea, you just said tea twice.
In turkey its called cay and in russia its 4ai
The world is one
It's called Chai and not Chai Tea. Chai means Tea hence essentially what u r saying is Tea Tea which is incorrect
Lol chai tea cute😂😂
In US I have seen people spit in the burger while preparing it out of frustration for their jobs. i was in technical department for a fast food chain. 7-8 days old meat, cold stored pickles, cheapest quality ingredients from sources that have zero respect for human health.. there goes your hygiene
I dunno much about that.
Bt here we get atleast fresh nd tasty food daily.
Even on street.
Boss; im a calcucuttan. I can vouch for the fact that meat doesn't last for more than 2 days here..
@@vivekmathur3514 Bhai uska message lagta hai tujhe samajh nahi aya, he is supporting Indian food

My lord, the southeast Asians have some serious creativity and the way they season the food, in my opinion, is the worlds best. Our western bellies would some serious adjustment time lol.
Hmmm!!!! India is in South East Asia 😂😂😂
India is south asia to anybody who don't know...
It’s just called Chai. Calling it chai tea is like saying TEA TEA. 😂😂

I've been watching you for a while,I think you would be a huge hit if some tv station would make what you do into a food around the world documentary, you would be on par with Anthony Bordain and Andrew Zimmern or even better.Awesome videos o7
The way u express the taste... I became fan of ur voice .... Especially for that word ... "BEAUTIFUL"
Trevor is so descriptive in his analysis of the food, I can almost taste it! 😍😍😍
I have been waiting for last few days and finally.... Yeh.... Welcome to 🇮🇳... 🤗
hey Trevor , the puffed rice snack you had enjoyed , its called 'jhalmuri' and not bhelpuri :) :) , keep up the good work, love from Kolkata
The only comment I read! And I feel like I know you from the school fest era- Priyanka Kumar from Ashok Hall?
Yep bhelpuri is a sweet kinda dish but jhalmudhi which is being made in the video is li'll bit spicy nd tangy
The food servers and the cook touches the food with thier bare hands. Thats whats makes Indian food so yummy
Love the amount of hate in the comment section. Awesome work guys
Hello What I know, right? I don't get it! Indian street food is sustenance for the working class and poor. No need to bash on how they cook it if you are not going to be eating it.
im sorry trevor but that was not double chicken @10:10
I’m Surprised your Hindi is so good😍😍
Akshay K no I was laughing while listening to his Hindi but no offense pls
Actually feels like 1990's China...where I grew up. It's ENERGETIC! Love it.
Yes, Kolkata has many Chinese roots especially before 1947...
Everyone who says this dirty! On my first visit to Las Vegas I got sick when eating at Panda Express. I was sick to my stomach for an entire week and vomitted at least 10 times the first night. I thought I was going to die. Yea great American quality food LOL
Who goes to Vegas to eat Panda Express lol
So San I was actually thinking the same when I read my comment again lol
At least Vegas doesn't have designated shitting streets.
imperial.shredded.pilot This chat is fucking hilarious lol
That wasn't a double chicken roll definitely..!!!
Sanjeeva Karunakar we know it
no it was not!
xD
i know :P
Love your show Trevor however, just a small correction. It's just Chai and not Chai Tea. Tea is called Chai in India. So if you call it Chai Tea, it's like calling Tea twice or Tea Tea. :P
Trevor you are truly a very humble and lovely person. Thank u for a visit in India.
Guys just because the colour of utensils is not good doesn't mean that the food is unhygienic.kolkata is heaven for Street food lover.
