We had the best time creating these food videos for you in Bangladesh and found everyone to be SUPER FRIENDLY! This Dhaka Food Tour video is full of AMAZING street food that you're going to love, it's gonna make you want to move to Bangladesh!
First up, we're going for a Bangladeshi street food BREAKFAST in Old Dhaka, one of the best Chicken soups I've ever tasted, and a SPICY Dal curry that is full of energy! Here, you can get amazing naan bread and spicy curry for breakfast with all the locals for SUPER CHEAP. My breakfast cost less than 1$! AMAZING!
After that amazing street food breakfast in Old Dhaka, we are going for our second Bengali breakfast, with a little more dahl, mixed vegetables, and a semolina pudding in the back streets of Old Dhaka.
After this, we're going to my buddy Shimon's home for a HUGE Bengali HOME COOKED meal with his family! It was SO amazing! I am now fully convinced that Bengali cuisine is some of the best in the world! We had a ton of spicy curry, delicious ilish fish, one of the most famous seafoods to try in Bangladesh, and some Bangladeshi bhorta plates made with home style recipes! It was a HUGE Bengali lunch feast. What was even more impressive while making this food video was the amazing hospitality of all the people we met in Bangladesh. Everyone was so friendly and of course so proud of their delicious Bangladeshi food.
I love making these food travel videos for you and it's because of being able to share these amazing street foods around the world and meeting friendly people that I do it. In Dhaka, we found everyone to be extremely friendly and interested in our food travel videos because everyone in Bangladesh loves food!
After the amazing home cooked Bangladeshi food meal with Shimon, we're continuing on our full on food tour of Dhaka and exploring the outskirts of town to try a HUGE SEAFOOD BBQ stall at a local village market quite like a farmers market. This stall had a big variety of local seafood from Bangladesh. Bangladesh is a beautiful country full of delicious seafood and this stall had quite a big selection. They had red snapper, coral fish, local crabs, chicken tikka, and tandoori chicken, all put on top of the BBQ. I found the smoky flavour from the barbecue and the rich curry sauce on top of the fish we ordered to be the PERFECT flavour!
After this amazing local seafood at the farmers market, we continued our food tour and made our way deeper into the market to find a long alleyway PACKED with Bengali dessert shops. This was one of the most AMAZING dessert streets I've ever witnessed! So many varieties of Bengali desserts to choose from!

This video was filmed in Old Dhaka a little over 2 weeks ago. Just 2 days ago, there was a large fire through one of the areas near where we were shooting that claimed over 80 lives. Our deepest condolences to the families of those who passed. The entire country is going through mourning right now and we are saddened that something like this happened to such a beautiful and historically important part of Dhaka and to all the families as well. Great Country, Bangladesh. I meet so many hardworking Bangladeshis here in the UK on a daily basis. They are really down to earth, religious, God-fearing, and simple beings. Food is a bit sweet in Bangla Restaurants in the UK but I think it's been cured for English taste buds. Would love to experience the food and culture in Bangladesh.

In Bangladesh,when people see foreigners which they don't often see,they are a bit curious at first to know about that person.Once they get familiar with you,they will come and talk to you and offer any help they can provide.If you don't believe me, then come and visit this wonderful country. বাঙ্গালীরা কোনদিন ও ভারত পাকি হতে চায় নাই,অবিভক্ত স্বাধীন বাংলা চেয়েছিল, মলানা ভাশানি, সোহরাওয়ার্দি, মুহম্মদ আলী, ফজলুর রহমান, প্রাদেশিক মুসলিম লীগের সম্পাদক আবুল হাশিম, আব্দুল মালেক, অবিভক্ত বাংলার কংগ্রেস পরিষদীয় দলের নেতা কিরণশঙ্কর রায়, সত্যরঞ্জন বক্সী এবং শরৎচন্দ্র বসু। এ সভায় আবুল হাশিম ও শরৎ বসু সবার সাথে স্বাধীন সার্বভৌম বাংলা বাস্তবায়ন করার লক্ষ্যে এক চুক্তিতে স্বাক্ষর করেন। কিরণশঙ্কর রায় কংগ্রেস পার্টির দলের ঘোষিত নীতির বিরোধিতা করে এই প্রস্তাবের সাথে যুক্ত হন। চুক্তির শর্তগুলি ছিল নিম্নরূপ: বাংলা একটি স্বাধীন রাষ্ট্র হবে। স্বাধীন বাংলা রাষ্ট্র অবশিষ্ট ভারতের সঙ্গে তার সম্পর্ক নির্ধারণ করবে। স্বাধীন বাংলা রাষ্ট্রের সংবিধানে যুক্ত নির্বাচন ও বয়স্ক ভোটাধিকারের ভিত্তিতে বাংলার ব্যবস্থাপক পরিষদের নির্বাচনের ব্যবস্থা থাকবে আর সে সঙ্গে হিন্দু ও মুসলমান জনসমষ্টির সংখ্যানুপাতে আসন সংরক্ষিত থাকারও ব্যবস্থা থাকবে। হিন্দু ও তফশিলি হিন্দুদের আসনগুলি তাদের নিজ নিজ সম্প্রদায়ের জনসমষ্টির অনুপাতে তাদের জন্য বণ্টনের ব্যবস্থা থাকবে কিংবা এমন ভাবে সে ব্যবস্থা করা হবে যাতে উভয় সম্প্রদায়ের সম্মতি থাকবে। নির্বাচনী এলাকাগুলি হবে কার্যত বহু নির্বাচনী এলাকা এবং ভোট হবে বণ্টন অনুসারে, সামগ্রিক নয়। নির্বাচন চলাকালে কোনো প্রার্থী তার নিজ সম্প্রদায়ের সংখ্যাগরিষ্ঠ ভোট পেলে এবং একইভাবে প্রদত্ত অন্য সম্প্রদায়গুলির ২৫ শতাংশ ভোট পেলে তাকে নির্বাচিত ঘোষণা করা হবে। যদি কোনো প্রার্থী এ শর্তাবলি পূরণ না করতে পারেন তাহলে যিনি তার সম্প্রদায়ের সর্বোচ্চ সংখ্যক ভোট পাবেন তিনিই নির্বাচিত হবেন। স্বাধীন বাংলা রাষ্ট্রের প্রস্তাব গৃহীত হয়েছে ও বাংলা বিভক্ত করা হবে না এ মর্মে ব্রিটিশ রাজকীয় সরকারের ঘোষণার পর বাংলার বর্তমান মন্ত্রিসভা ভেঙ্গে দেওয়া হবে। তদস্থলে একটি নতুন অন্তবর্তীকালীন মন্ত্রিসভা গঠিত হবে। এ মন্ত্রিসভায় মুসলিম ও হিন্দু সম্প্রদায়ের (তফশিলি হিন্দু ও হিন্দুসহ) সমান সংখ্যক সদস্য থাকবেন। তবে মুখ্যমন্ত্রী এ হিসেবের বাইরে থাকবেন। এ মন্ত্রিসভায় প্রধানমন্ত্রী হবেন একজন মুসলিম ও স্বরাষ্ট্র মন্ত্রী হবেন একজন হিন্দু। নতুন সংবিধানের আওতায় একটি আইন পরিষদ ও একটি মন্ত্রিসভা চূড়ান্ত পর্যায়ে গঠিত হওয়া সাপেক্ষে ইত্যবসরে হিন্দু সম্প্রদায়ের লোকজন (তফশিলি হিন্দুসহ) ও মুসলিম সম্প্রদায়ের সদস্যরা সামরিক বাহিনী ও পুলিশ বাহিনীসহ বিভিন্ন চাকরিতে সমান অংশের অধিকারী হবেন। আর এসব চাকরি-বাকরি করবেন বাঙালিরা। গণপরিষদ ৩০ জন বাক্তিকে নিয়ে গঠিত হবে। এদের মধ্যে ১৬ জন হবেন মুসলিম ও ১৪ জন অমুসলিম। ইউরোপীয়রা ছাড়া ব্যবস্থাপক পরিষদের মুসলিম ও হিন্দু সদস্যরা তাদেরকে নির্বাচিত করবেন। কিন্তু কোত্থেকে আসলো কুলাঙ্গার শ্যামা প্রসাদ আর হিন্দু মহাসভা, দাঙ্গা লাগিয়ে এরা সব এলোমেলো করে দিল। এখন নিজ দেশে পঃবঙ্গিয়রা পরবাসী চাকুরি বাবসা সব গুজরাটি মাড়োয়ারি দের হাতে। বড় বাজার তাদের হাতে। কত বড় সাহস কলকাতায় চাকরির বিজ্ঞাপন বলে বাঙালি আবেদন করবেন না, সল্ট লেকে ফ্ল্যাট বলে নন ভেজি চল্বেনা।উবার অলাও বাঙালি চালাতে পারছে না।

Yes... it is true we are very much hospitable in every way possible... even if you visit our villages our poor people will present you with whatever the 'best things they could find to eat' for the visitors. It is a part & parcel of our 'Bengali culture'.
