That’s first thing I said. It’s the cool part about building a newly released vehicle, but like you said in the video, don’t break anything parts are hard to find.
Just bought an FJ cruiser last week and this hypes me up to start modding it. That mint color with the decals is so sick, quite possibly the coolest build I’ve ever seen.
MSRP is $55k but yes, as built it would be well over $150k. You can build a really capable LC250 much less of course. With armor, a small lift and 35s it'll go far!
Lol, that is a serious trail. It looks like its meant for caged crawlers with no bodies. Or vehicles with full exo cages. Still very nice rigs. When the video stopped for part two, I was thinking, where is the winch action? Not really to winch up, just enough to keep it from rolling.
Hey man, DOUBLE and TRIPLE check all the bolts especially the brake caliper bolts on your 74weld portals. They’ve been having issues with the brackets falling off, my bronco portal brake brackets fell off while I was driving. They have been recalling and sending out new brake brackets because they really messed up with the brake bracket design. The Toyota portals may be safe from these issues. Check them often and add loctite as needed!
Nice to see the powertrain can handle 40's. I realize the gearing reduction of the portals. Getting a 4Runner Trailhunter. Will keep it mostly stock. Maybe add a small lift and 35's. Not going to rock crawl or do too heavy of trails off road. Mainly Overlanding and towing our relatively off road ready Sol Horizon travel trailer. Our 5th gen on 33's does a pretty good job so far...
Man this was awesome! So glad you guys are diving into some full length YT videos now. There were some really great shots here - well done! I thought y’all were tippin a few different times!😰😰😰 I give the 250 some good-hearted grief (mostly just my woeful attempts at humor), but the way y’all have built this thing is beyond impressive. It looks even more beastly seeing it on the full screen! The portals and 40’s are 🔥🔥🔥. One day I’m getting the GX 550 and letting you guys build it like this! 💪💪💪 Way to go y’all!!!
Don't understand why so many people run nittos? Please tell me because my understanding is they are hevay and don't air down well or flex. I do see they give out a lot of free tires. Lmk. And how come you didn't get the marlins crawler rclt independent front suspension kit?
Nittos are heavy because they are tough. The offroad traction is excellent on rocks and deep snow. They bag out pretty well when aired down assuming you have the correct load rating for your vehicle weight.
Pretty wild what he's done with it in such a short time. Living close to awesome trails really helps ensure it's not a mall crawling "SEMA build". Haha
@@kevinblack7853 I believe so because of where the portals relocate the calipers to. However, I think Ben may be looking into offering them for non-portal equipped LC250s as well as control arm bracket stiffeners. If you watch our breakage video you can see how the oem bracket folded.
@ no kidding. Anyone that knows , knows that was steeper in person without cameras compressing that angle. Hope the LC made it through that without body damage 🥴
The "old" N/A V6 would have been a bad choice. It has to rev too high to make any power so you'd have to regear to run 35s. The new TTV6 would have been pretty cool but you can just buy the GX550 which is the better choice for an offroad rig anyway.
@@TheNewps you're saying toyota shit the bed? I wouldn't call a purposely made decision shitting the bed. I love the fact that they went back to a cylinder like previous LCS. I think the only thing here that stinks is your comment.
@BaconCruiser No doubt! Haha We have good mics for intentional dialog. It's the unintentional heavy breathing from my 1 lung having ass that kills it. Maybe I need a directional mic to face away from me. Ha!
I was wondering why a few of you didn’t jump into the heep but as I was typing this the heep drives by with a female passenger and a dog in back 😂 and now I know
@@dissentoffroadyou guys are great I’m going to be getting a Lexus gx here soon and it will be fitted with Dissent bumpers and anything else you may make for it. Keep up the great work and please keep the product testing videos a thing ….really enjoyable
Might be the Sickest LC 250 in the world right now
😊Thank you!
Has to be
That’s first thing I said. It’s the cool part about building a newly released vehicle, but like you said in the video, don’t break anything parts are hard to find.
It is pretty sweet. Another sweet LC build is the Westcott Baja Cruiser.
Y’alls 250 might single handily convince me to add one to the stable!
I love the build! The stance, the scheme, everything! Well done!
Thank you! It's a pretty solid platform. Sure Toyota could have make things beefier BUT we haven't broken any OEM parts yet.
Just bought an FJ cruiser last week and this hypes me up to start modding it. That mint color with the decals is so sick, quite possibly the coolest build I’ve ever seen.
FJs can be built up to be super capable!
Oh come on.... my legs are numb from sitting on the throne this long only to get that ending.
🤣Our bad. Had to cut the video somewhere. Part 2 will be better. :)
That’s a nice 250. Definitely growing on me. Only downside is that that’s probably a $100,000 + cruiser

I could be wrong but I'm pretty sure that Harrop has front elockers available for these now

Toyotas aren't exempt. :( We're working with them and they have been very responsive.
Great video!
Justin don’t short change the Xterra, we’re hitting this trail in 2025 and you better tag along.
Thank buddy! I'll get er back up and running so I can join. :)
Freaking AWESOME!!! That is a BAD A** build

Good work- both car's👍

Gotta be the most wheeled 250 in existence!

Since there's no snow... Filmed in September or early October?
Yup! Late enough in the season to be cold but not too cold.
Great driving!
Thank you! Wait until Part 2. That's where the obstacles get hard.
Where do you keep the spare wheels for these vehicles, is that with a support vehicle?
I think the Jeep had one in the bed. The 250 doesn't carry a spare. We have patches, plugs and GlueTread. Prayers as well. :)
The new Lexus LX700h comes stock with a front locker and button so If you all wanted to install a locker in the LC250 it would be possible.
Who makes the shock skid and e brake cover for the rear?? First time I've seen that and cant find it online.
We do. It was designed for the portals.
@dissentoffroad so only works for people with portals then?

Crazy how technology really helps alleviate issues when offroading with an IFS.
Some of the issues. Hahaha
Well, I mean, it went all the places the Jeep did, a little less graceful but still.
Oh, man. I bet that feels icky @38:00.
Very icky indeed! lol
Idk how that passenger side tie rod survived that rock @28:32 wow!
That's what we said. I (camera guy) thought for sure it was going to pop or bend!
Did you bend your slider?
Nope. We put a slight dent in it on Rubicon but you can replace the main panels. We didn't bend it enough to be noticeable though.
Harrop have just released an E/locker for the front I believe...
That would be great! We'll look into it.
Sterring rod is so thin! :D
37:40 geez
Not gonna lie, it was so sketchy.

The camera man google searching for a breath lol. People don’t realize how hard it is to walk that trail and film.
🤣No joke! Cameraman has 1 lung and that elevation profile is rough. Next time we'll try a different mic setup. lol
