My brother and I grew up playing this when we were 13/14..farming silk and our mom would bring in cookies while we were playing. She passed in 2021. FFXI was a special time for many reasons.
One of my favorite songs in XI, used to spend hours every day farming the crawlers there for silk threads while listening to this between battle music. I wish XI was like it was back then but now its changed. I miss the old FFXI when level 75 was the max but sadly its probably never gonna come back.
@@ekkls This is Jade, sorry didnt see ur comment until now when i wanted to listen to this song again lol. I have to look into the private servers, never been on one before but even then the game still isnt the same as it used to be but if you could kinda travel back in time on the private servers that would be awesome. Im not saying the level cap should have always been only 75 but nowadays is much different, you dont even really join EXP parties anymore which was one of the most fun experiences of the game even though leveling up was slow and people complained too much about certain things which i thought made the game great, of course SE listened to these people and basically completely changed the game. Its sad but i still enjoy XI but sadly most of my friends on the game are gone too. I have precious and fond memories as well as bad memories of the game but the past wont come back, you just have to deal with the present time but they shouldnt have changed the game so much, i mean i like some of the changes but the fact that it feels like a totally different game now i dont like. :(
Ok one question, is it free? Or do you have to buy it like on steam or something or is there a monthly subscription like the real FFXI? Because i dont want to pay for it. edit: I would think they would get in trouble for copyright if it wasnt free or is it square enix that made these private servers?

@@laylamiller6292look into HorizonXI :) very popular new 75 era+ server. Some QoL updates but maintains the 75 experience

I remember playing with my bros all 6 of us on laptops when I was like 16 I'm almost 34 and still my favorite game of all time 😢❤
