This was accurate! My daughter and I were on an episode in 2016 and this video is so true. Not a lot of glamour, portable potties were made available on selling day on an extremely hot day! Many of my favorite parts weren’t aired because three days cut to a thirty minute show could only allow so much. All in all, it was a fun experience, and, yes, we won. 😊 “ Drumming up Business “ was our episode with great opponents Jason and Loretta and my daughter Kellie.
@@kerrijodierberger Yea totally I remember when I was a kid there was a show called the urban peasant and he was an older man who put alcohol in everything he cooked It was a Canadian show
@@kerrijodierberger I remember Graham Kerr (aka The Galloping Gourmet), having a very popular tv show, where he began the show coming onstage with an ever present glass of wine. He was very entertaining, even getting away with cracking jokes, like referring to circumcision while peeling a cucumber. I think his show aired in the 1970’s.
The master craftsmen doing most of the work isn't a secret. Every time they're in the studio, they're the ones doing 90% of the work and the actual contestants might paint something or hammer a nail in. I want a show like FMF but with actually talented people who build their projects themselves.
It's a contest between two teams BUT their host does it all! She talks dealers down for them, she tells them what to make things into, she helps them choose items to make, she often helps sell the items or even sets the prices to sell things for,.. she might as well just do it all and not have it be a contest...... I like her as a host, but let the contestants be the contestants.
They need some rule changes as to the functionality of the pieces they buy. In the Nancy Kerrigan episode, she bought some big cable reels at a cheap price; then, with the ‘additional 100 dollars’ they get during the makeover, she put a lamp on the reels and sold it as a very expensive lamp-base. That would be like buying some cheap buttons at the flea market and then ‘adding’ a wooden tray, then sticking the buttons on the tray and selling it as a breakfast tray with a huge profit because of the cheap buttons. Also, I agree with what others have said about Lara, she needs to butt out and not interfere in the process.
They need to rename it Bar cart flip lol So many things they can make and refurbish from these flea markets and every episode they make those Damn stupid bar carts!
Watch a few episodes in a row and you've probably already pieced these secrets together. It's still great to have suspicions confirmed and the show is still fun to watch.
She goes to potential buyers and talks them into buying. I saw the two teams both had one item to go. She corralled a couple who bought from one team while the other looked on. Did she go do this for the other team? No.
Am I the only one who loves this show until Laura is around. ??? When the people are shopping, she tries taking over from haggli g the price to what to make and how much to sell it for or buy it for. It's like pat sajak saying what letter would u like? I'd pick " s" cause it's a popular letter. She helped one could sell an item which it helped them win. It's not fair to the other couple. The whole purpose of the game is for the couple's to do all the work from beginning to end.
I enjoy the show but they never spend anything near the $500.given to shop? And yes I agree Lara is too involved in suggesting what to do with projects.
I thought one of the secrets revealed is that the show has a lifetime supply of grey paint. Because it never fails: practically everything that gets a new coat of paint is painted grey! And not a nice grey, one that looks like primer. I get it, neutral colors sell better, but what is it with everyone choosing the same grey paint?!
Love this sho. But I cant stand how the host interjects her opinion and suggests changes to the contestants plans ant it also appears there is help provided to them in the construction and assembly phase. I have seen episodes where someone else welded parts and assisted in freeing up frozen parts. I say let them design and build their own ideas. If they cant accomplish it then oh well. Again... I love the idea. But they need to let the contestants do it all on their own.
Somtimes the contestants make some really nice stuff, but most of the time it just looks too much like Junk pieced together and priced way too high. Most of the stuff I would never put in my house. I guess everbody has their own taste though.
I just watched a show and the side Laura tried to "help" lost. She hagglee for the couple and when they lost she said they lost bc they spent to much. Its a contest between two couples. She is the host. She gets to involved . It's like Pat sajak helping solve the puzzle and oh well if they lose. Let them pick the stuff hagglee buy create and sell without Laura around. I literally turned the channel cause of her.
I love the show and get some inspirations from it. But lets face it in most areas like those in central Ky cant move stuff for the prices they do there. Need a more realistic approach for the rest of us.
I like to show whatever they do. What do we know what it takes to make a TV show. Anyway I like how the grass turn out even if they don't necessarily do them in a day. And boy would I like to have all those Carpenter's to help me with my designs and my putting things together that seem impossible. Like that bike
I am so tired of mostly Everything being painted gray or that vibrant blue. Really? She says those are the “in” colors. For how long? But she comes in and pushes that freakin gray and blue.
I've been watching this show because I wanted some diy ideas but was disappointed in season 1 episode 2 when Lara told the team that was losing that the other team was up by $300. She basically helped the losing team out because they priced the next item a little over what it would take for them to win. I thought that was a little shady 🙄
But my question is: Although the winning team gets $5,000.00, what does the losing team get? Do they leave empty-handed or do they receive a secret consolation prize (i.e., less $$$$) for their efforts?
Flea market flipping doesn't need a show or anyone to tell you how to do it just get out there buy shit and sell it for more lol Odds are if someone has to tell you how to do it you would never be successful at it anyway.

It’s New York. I know someone who bought a one room “apartment for over$300,000. Well a rich kind aunt did. That was a bargain she said and the value has gone up. Guess they are used to it.
Love " flea market flip" but, There are times I think it's fake especially the ridiculous money price$ on their items . people it's a flea market where you surpossed to get a good deal there not an expensive furniture store!!!!
I love this show. But could do without the drama. I actually enjoy the ones that are respectful and nice to each other with fun teasing. Some don’t deserve to win the money for way they talk crap along with some crap they make compared to the other team. I think some get greedy but how they find that one person almost each time to buy something I could get at garage sale for 10 bucks and they selling for 200. That is suspicious to those in real world. How do we know a family member or friend or old school buddy wants called to come bad buy for a chin I of the money. I love Lara and think she needs to step away and let others do there thing and helpers are really the ones who make the product look the way it does. Also last few seasons seems like people they picked off street.
I don't watch this show that often cause it's all a setup they get nice items dirt cheap and sell them for a profit but I suspect that the people they get the stuff from are paid off and the same with the buyers
I quit watching Flea Market Flip !!! To much Laura Spencer !!!! Telling people how to act around the sellers at the Flea Market because there her friends !!!! She’s very controlling !!! Just don’t watch anymore !!!
I love Flea market flip but Lara is bossy and bias toward which team she helps. It really isn't fair for her to help one team over another. She needs to stay out of the haggling!!!
This should could have been a great show however sometimes Lara Spencer assisted certain contestants with haggling or design ideas which then gave them an edge. Also, the contestants do not do alot of the work themselves.
This show has to be fake or there is a lot of idiots out there buying stupid stuff at ridiculous prices. Some of the things they fix up or create look OK but from what I've seen, it still isn't worth your time or money to look at considering what they are asking. If you saw some of the wacky furniture at a garage sale for a few dollars, that might be a different story.
I love this show but I have seen the same lady buy like 20 pieces. She is an older lader with blonde hair that lowballs everything. I aleays thought it was staged (what isn't?) but seeing that same lady time after time after time gets really old.
I was making & selling bars and tables from old bicycles long ago. Sorry, bar bicycle is nothing new nor original. Wow guess I should have been on television..lol

This show should be called “Let’s Build a Bar”! All they ever do is build bars!!
That’s because this country unfortunately revolves around drinking, just watch tv shows and everyone drinks. Didn’t happen like that in my days.

I've always been a long time viewer. I'm a big flea, thrift, creative diva and my husband loves Lara. One of the few shows we can watch together.
Laura needs to let them do their own bidding and ideas. Stay out of it. Be a host only.
I agree it makes no since why she jumps in sometimes and sells the items for them, or tells them thats a cool piece and they should buy it.

Lara needs to keep herself out of the helping the teams.

She goes to potential buyers and talks them into buying. I saw the two teams both had one item to go. She corralled a couple who bought from one team while the other looked on. Did she go do this for the other team? No.
Yesss
Right?? I swear she embarrasses herself with what she would call "witty comments" in almost every episode.
It's not her fault when u think about it
It's the producers and directors that control what she does
I wish they'd start this show again. I'd love some new episodes
Lara Spencer is so confident and fun, really admire her.

New drinking game to go with the infinity of drink carts emerging from this show; take a shot every time someone says 'chic'
