    Great tutorial! After almost 10 years of not skiing I was reluctant to do a frontflip again. After watching this video I managed to land some in the park again 😁

      you should have trampoline facility. i hope you do. you could do many, many flips there to build your confidence and control while in the air. then just bring it to the snow baring in mind that skis are heavy and you need more energy for the spin.

    any tips on how to overcome that scary feelz right before trying a new trick? Im always afraid of doing new tricks just like backflip and frontflip. I can do them on trampoline pretty fine, even on flat ground. But when it comes to skiing, im always super afraid...

    • @StompItTutorials
      @StompItTutorials  8 лет назад +53

      +André Werner Well yes. Slowly make it more difficult. I am rarely afraid since I have been slowly making more and more difficult tricks. This builds up your confident. If i am scared its a sign I am not ready yet. Maybe I will do a video on this some time.

    • @MoonWalkerTexsRanger
      @MoonWalkerTexsRanger 8 лет назад +4

      +André Werner I think a good step, like it's said in the video, is to repeat the movement on powder or airbag, just to master the feeling of the flip, with the weight of the skis, and the size of the jump. Doing that avoid me generally to under or over rotate the flip/move. (sorry for my bad english i'm from swiss)

    I can front flip on ground like 2nd nature but is doing on skis and harder/scarier

    • @StompItTutorials
      @StompItTutorials  7 лет назад +23

      Yes its a bit harder to to real small since you have the long nose of the ski making the start of the flip a little slow.But you can do it big and then it takes much less effort than on ground but you have to judge the air time and rotation to get the timing right.

      make sure you are completely confident doing them on the trampoline and you could even try going outside and doing the with a run up on the grass. Once you are very confident do them on little jumps, maybe even just ledges, but make sure they are big enough for you to tuck so you do not sustain any more injuries.

    I can frontflip very comfortably on a trampoline and on the ground, should I try this on my skis? I dont have any foam pits or air sacks or anything to try this on. Is it any different than a normal frontflip? Just wondering because I really wanna try one.

    • @StompItTutorials
      @StompItTutorials  8 лет назад

      +Eric Anghel Yes it is a bit different because the jump leans you back abit and you have to manage to move your body weight over the noses. Follow the instructions in the video and build your own jump with a powder landing or fluff up what ever snow you have and and you should be fine. Stay safe, Jens

    what do you recommend doing if your local mt. is kinda shitty and has a total of 2 jumps, 3 rails, and 1 box in it's park all year.... There are some better mts that i go to sometimes a few hours away but i cant go there all the time because it's expensive and I'm a student.

      +Animategrey Well tell me about it. My tip for you is join the ski club and help them make it better thats what me and my friends did back in northern Sweden. I grew up skiing a hill thats a couple of hundred meters long with 1 jump 2-5 rails and it was enough to do thousands of laps and learn everything I know pretty, have a look at the place. www.freeride.se/photo/search.php?search_type=location&search=klutmark

    I have a trampoline would it be a bad idea to try being my skis on there? And do the skis affect the rotation a lot?

    • @StompItTutorials
      @StompItTutorials  8 лет назад +1

      +Dominic Miller dude that sounds sketchy.You may cut holes in you trampoline because of the edges. There are good trampoline snowboards out there but I haven´t seen skis yet but i guess they exist and that would be a good idea. I you find any let me know.

    • @StompItTutorials
      @StompItTutorials  8 лет назад

      +johannes zzyl Yes just like the real art of sport said you get better pop and rotation that way. When you do it from both legs it is harder to like flip over the noses of the skis. Have fun learning this tricky at first but then super fun and "easy" trick.

    I know this is off topic but whenever I 360 on skis it always seems as tho my legs spin faster than my upper body and my head is lagging behind a little. I can still land the 360 fine but I feel it looks sloppy any tips to fix this?

    • @m3lfbreezy
      @m3lfbreezy 8 лет назад

      +Danny Dressel rly easy to fix this, had that problem when i started skiing. Key is, to just CARVE into the jump. With the carving motion you dont have to do really much in the air. So if you spin left, make a right hand carve, if you spin right, a left hand carve. At the take off, bent your knees, popp off. And you rly feel that the 360 comes round naturally. If you'd like to know how much you carve, easily search for 'Jossi Wells Trick Tip Cork 5' and you'll see how you should carve.

      a good thing is to practice flat rotations on the ground. without skis.
      start by 180s and 360s, and hold arms to your chest. control that your axis is straight, you are not under or over rotating and land straight as well.
      also, make sure you jump high using both your legs to initiate the jump.
      then start adding arm swing little by little. you should be able to spin 540 and 720.
      then you could try it on trampoline as well, controlling your legs arms, head whatever. you could also do shifty which is separate rotation of upper and lower body (find examples on youtube).
      kudos.

      that routine also helps you spin faster, for all that 7s, 9s and whatnot. so don't ignore mastering technique on the ground and trampoline.
