@@1983Dave1983 Yes. Get the director’s cut. The screenplay was absolutely cringeworthy but the lead actors tried to work it. As I mentioned before, several critics mentioned Hartnett performance in film. I loved it. I don’t care if the history details were inauthentic , the movie is about a love story during the attack. It’s not a freaking documentary.

Was he really gone? When was the last time he acted?
He has never stopped working. He’s done films in the Philippines, Thailand, Japan, Romania, New York, Seattle, England, Ireland, etc. He often does 2 films a year. He also produces and writes scripts, 3 of which were sold but not yet gone into production. Kind of in limbo. The man has been working steadily since he was 18! Almost 30 years!
Before Oppenheimer he did 4 successful indies: Black Mirror S6E3 (won a PDA), Ida Red, inherit the Viper and valley of the gods (2019-2023). Look up his filmography.

Really dislike Laverne as an interviewer, but YES Josh Hartnett. So lovely to see him back on the big screen, have missed him. Hope this role opens up for more film roles in the future.
I had the exact opposite thought. I think Laverne is terrific as an interviewer. And I’m happy to see Josh again, of course.
He shies away from big budget movies. He did Op and Ruse de Guerre because he’s friends (and neighbors) with Nolan and Ritchie and they asked him. He’s been doing art house/independent films for 20+ years. Last year was the outlier, he did Black Mirror, a UK thriller series, Operation Fortune and Oppie all released at once 😊
Why did he leave Hollywood?
He never really left. He just settled for stuff that didn't keep his name elevated like arthouse type movies..
Hollywood created a persona for him he didn’t like. He didn’t want to be Hollywood heartthrob with girls chasing him everywhere he went. He didn’t “ settle” for indies. They were his priorities and he couldn’t do them until his studio contract expired. He is in great demand for independent film makers.

Because he lives in England now? His wife is English and wanted to be close to family. She and their first child traveled with him from film to film. Had 2 homes in US and 1 in London. Now he lives in one home in the English countryside with his wife and FOUR kids! 😁

Really? Yes. Laverne Cox is a gorgeous (trans) woman, a famous actress, an advocate and you can clearly see how truly delighted Josh is to be interviewed by her and he usually is reticent to give press any attention.
