I know it's considered by many to be quaint at best and delusional at worst, but I still believe there is a transcendent God to address from within our immanent frame; one who hears and responds. And like the ancient psalmist, I sense that most keenly in the early morning.

I'm grateful that Carolyn Arends invited me to be on this song with her and the great Spencer Capier.
It is said that to sing a prayer is to pray twice. It certainly deepens the prayer and allows for those things to be voiced that have no words.

I've been singing this psalm since the 70's in my worship.
Me too. Bill Sprouse set Ps 5:1-3 to this melody shortly before he died, and he captured something really powerful and enduring.
Oh my; this is perfect. Many people fleeing the Ukraine right now need to listen/pray to this. Cheers.

Thank you for this beautiful rendition of this song. I have been singing this most mornings of my life since high school Bible study in the 70’s. Hearing you brought tears to my eyes. Praise God for His faithfulness and loving compassion to us. He is always there, unchanging and listening as we call upon Him.

This is a beautiful version of Bill Sprouse's song. You guys did justice to his creation.
It's been many, many yrs since I've heard this song. For the past 2wks, I've been waking up to this song in my head. I search the song and found it! It's wonderful! The best rendition I've ever heard! Thankyou!

This is one of the most beautiful, soul-stirring renditions of a psalm ever produced. Bill Sprouse's 1970s version was tremendously inspired; this one makes the listener truly feel as if he or she is engaged directly in prayer with the Almighty God. May God bless all who hear it, watch it, and those who participated in its creation. It is a song for our times - and all time.

we need more of these Classic 70s CCM music redone/covered...not to take away what was done here cause it ministered to my heart especially due to the fact I use to broadcast the original song on CCM radio then...but would of liked a big choir at the end :-) ...but I think you've might have thought of that along with another verse! @@CarolynArends yes aired the original and programed on CCM radio for several stations many years. The song is a timeless worship song. There were Maranatha Singers remakes that were all done well but the song has not been covered for years till you did and is perfect! Love the acoustics of arrangement as I still have my childhood violin 😎 but can’t play that well
