Havent really been playing arena at all (moved on to Sorcery) but still been watching Jim's videos, this was the first deck in forever that had me fire up arena, use a couple rares to build this and jam some standard. SUPER fun interactions. Thanks for this Jim, keep up the great work! Wizards owes you one!
This deck is full of attempts to disrupt but zero velocity. In a format where there are other decks with better disruption AND velocity a cute deck like this just doesn't cut it
Just saying, Seth, better known as SaffronOlive did do the exact concept of "current standard (esper pre rotation) versus old modern deck (jund)" and standard deck won. This is obviously not a complete view of it, but does show that power creep comes for all of us
That video wasn't terribly convincing. Seth has a highly inflated opinion of Jund because he's a massive Reid Duke fan, but not everyone can just pick up the deck and expect to do as well as Reid (obviously, he's a master with it, and he played a lot to earn that title). It's a deck that requires a lot of game knowledge and attention to detail to pilot effectively, so that you can know when and how to deploy your threats and answers to maximize the value from each card and eke out incremental advantage. Its plan to force opponents into top deck wars using discard that it will win using higher card quality is also not as effective when the opponent is also playing a midrange deck leaning on high card quality that also plays cards with strong card draw and selection (like Gix and Raffine). It's also a deck that relies on skillful sideboarding to get an edge in games 2 and 3, but obviously that depends on having one that's tuned to the meta. Pulling a stock list from 2014 means that the sideboard is tailored for the 2014 meta, which might not have had a prominent deck that played like Esper Raffine. Obviously those cards are still very good, and power creep is real, but just throwing them against Jund in the hands of an average content creator player doesn't really prove the sweeping claims that were being made against an entire format's power level. At the end of that video, my main thought was "ok, cool. Now do Tron or Valakut Titan."
Hey Jim, What is the black smudge near the bottom of the screen a bit left of center? It covers the A in Adakar Wastes at 16:56 . It's a bit annoying, but no big deal. Love the content!
Thanks for the analysis! I have a quick question: I have a SafePal wallet with USDT, and I have the seed phrase. (alarm fetch churn bridge exercise tape speak race clerk couch crater letter). What's the best way to send them to Binance?
See what happens here is WOTC can't have you playing like 1 or 2 decks, they have to have you sinking big Money into building 5-6-7-10 decks to try to run from the Dota 2 MMR specifically designed with hyper aggressive coding to keep those forced loses 45-55% win rate. This becomes painful reality less than 15 hours into ur magic career. Hasbro will continue to layoff, they will continue to suffer. Which I have to say is yummy good for me and Elon... Get mad love you miss you Hasbro XOXOXOXO
I'm not sure why people don't realize that you can curse role your 1/1's and you never lose any power
Yeah, not attaching the Cursed Role to Optimistic Scavenger in the first two games certainly made me pause. Then he spotted it.
Never seen someone not use it this way what rank are you playing in
It's actually upside on 0/1 plant tokens (roots) 🤔

It’s a lot better than some other crap people think is tier 1
It’s interesting that you managed to write two sentences while saying nothing at all. How insightful, how cerebral!
A humble offering for the almighty algorithm.
Some of the roughest land draws in recent memory 😂
not to be all conspiratorial but I do feel that when I see streamers playing more "fringe" decks the hand smoothing screws them over more often
Hand smoothing only happens in bo1 @@voltcorp
@@Hammock_Dan Thanks for that info, I didn't know!
Im just here for the leeroy jenkins
Now a video stacking standard decks up to old modern decks would be a sight to see 👀
A yo, you lizzle putting out pixie decks on the same day. Let's go.
thanks jim
This deck is very similar to the Duskmourn limited sealed deck i put together for the prerelease tbh
Jim is so sick bro

Sweet uncommons ya got there 😏
If you don't board in Pest Control against the token deck when does it ever come in?
Shrouded shepherd is the go to tech in these decks for that usually
Agree Shepherd seems much better

It’s the green screen for the dog bed

Too bad for the rangers this season. Kings fan in SLC so Utah is not too far off.

ashzilla is the best version
