Could you make a tutorial on xcode using C++? That is currently what I'm trying to learn. Would very much appreciate the help. Love your content by the way, keep it up!
I am a beginner who wants to create an avatar program using Xcode and a multitude of graphics and themes. It’s a huge project, and it’s just me working on it. But I’m only going to get there with time and effort.
because i'm bored.
I just want to see if I can. I have a very specific app for my job that I want to build for my Pro 11 Max and or iPad Pro 9.7". I've written a fair amount of VBA so I'm hoping this will won't be too painful...
I've dreamed of making my own app ever since I was a kid and now that I'm 17 I can start making my dream a reality !!
Awesome! Have fun working on your dreams!

"That's why a lot of people use this theme. Because they code at night."

My ten-year-old daughter and I are hoping to build an app for local dog lovers/owners to see who is at various dog parks in the area. We're trying to solve the problem of driving to a park and our pooch (Millie) finding no one to play with. This is all very new to us. We're excited, and trying to take it one step at a time!
Yes, John! We're glad to see that you and your awesome 10-year old daughter are trying out iOS app development. You guys will only get better and better from here while improving your father-daughter relationship. Better times ahead! :-) -Arthur
@@CodeWithChris Sir, can you please tell ur system configuration "i was waiting to ask since long days" please

I am an recreational fisherman and I used Numbers to create a spreadsheet to tally up my catches each day I fished so far this year. It works nicely but I thought that it would be cool to create an app to track my catches and do other things with it. So hence, I am here to learn to create an app!!
That is awesome! Nice work!

I just want to learn me how to code an app like all those silicon valley geniuses. Those guys are so gosh darn smart and I wanna be one of them. Every day I'm sittin here on my family farm with my newfangled laptop that my son got me(he's a college boy) and I think to myself, "I could make an app for farmers, like what if I had an app that tells me when the wheat harvest is ready, or when the cows will come back to the barn?" It's what gets me to sleep at night. Anyway thanks for the info and this tutorial was super pro. Love you!
Hey, your app idea was awesome! We'd love to see it when it's finished. Best of luck!

@@CodeWithChris Thank you young man, it's nice to see someone so positive on youtube these days. I've already moved on to your other videos and got an app runnin' on that simulator thing. I want a new productive hobby, and with the coronavirus, I have the time to learn.
What made you choose to learn iOS app development? :)

Hi Martin! I'm on the same boat! I always wanted to lear to code but never found the time to do it. I'm a philologist and coding looked so alien to me! Happy to see I'm not alone on this!

I learn a bit of swift for command line when I need a tool to export itunes playlist. It was so messy with xcode I end up finish the program outside of it. But I still want to learn to use xcode properly.
Hello, maybe there is a better way to export itunes playlist? there should be some pre-built apps for this already. We dont really have tutorial for command-line as its only on playground or mobile app
- Francis
@@CodeWithChris There are 2 main methods of exporting the play list.
(1) Using tTunes. Issue is iTunes export encoding is not Linux friendly. Even other music apps running in MacOS are having issue with those export.
(2) Use 3rd party program. There are a lots of them on GitHub, but all of them rely on plist or xml, which iTunes keep changing location from version to version.
So I decided to make my own that rely on iTunes api. I started with XCode, but can't find a way to change the binary location. XCode always put it deep inside the ~/Library/... and I have to copy it manually. I end up finishing the project outside of XCode like this: github.com/J-Siu/itpl
Your video is extremely helpful and I am going through the SwiftUI series, thank you very very much!!!

I appreciate all the effort put into this video. It probably would’ve been more informative if you would’ve taking us through creating a simple app. You telling me what everything is and does not help me retain anything. @AdrienVillez
More than 30 years ago before I turned 40 I bought a C-64 from a friend and used Peek and Poke commands and Print commands in Basic to chronicle choreography for my dances when I was in a Ballet Company in Pennsylvania. I was Resident Manager at an Arts Center near Swarthmore. I'd use the colors of my partner's wardrobe for pas de deux, to format my text and background to know which dance it was I was sequencing so I could see what came next from start to finish. We tended to do Boutique Fantasque if the internet has informed me that company is doing the Nutcracker now for Christmas. Boutique was historically the first ballet to offer women in toe shoes. Dhiagalev's daughters figured out that new piece of technology employing a block of wood and wool to dance like fairies on the head of of a pin. Amazing to think what a Commodore 64 could do with 64K of processing power.
After that little bit of programming experience in in 1985 and "86, I spent quite a bit of time building retaining walls in Berkeley, Piedmont and adjacent places and painting houses and such. I had friends out here who had connections to Yoga and Sports and Physical Therapy that used biofeedback. I had a sense that programmers explained the traffic that moved to the south from Berkeley every day getting thick at times.
A number of years later I discovered my neighbor in the hills (in Oakland with a Berkeley zip) was Martin Davis who taught computer science at UC but learned he had retired after having bought a copy of his book from Amazon. He and his wife were good neighbors. The joke de jour in the audio recording community was that ISDN meant "I still don't need it." I tend to be a user of applications getting certification for ProTools and ran and older system into the ground so to speak, before being financially injured by the 2008 crash. (That old ProMix system is still in my closet but the iLok expired 10 years ago). I did create a recording for the first American to win the Segovia competition who used to play for small bills and change at the N Berkeley BART station. He left us sometime between Michael Jackson and Prince.
I had no current skills at the time of the 2008 crash but was aware of how BSD had made all programming languages into subsets when OS X came out. I had learned a bit of HTML back then and built a webpage mostly using Netscape Communicator when the Government made you sign a disclaimer we wouldn't use it as a weapon. My C-64 emulator I used to run a virtual copy of Tim Leary's Mind Mirror. That had gone Carbon. (Now it runs in virtual form on the web and can still load up my virtual floppies and cartridges).
Some guys in Santa Cruz had that program on floppy disks when I bought my first Power Mac. That was an 8500. I'd change a CPU and feel like I knew something but knew better. I love Macintosh just for it's friendliness to the general public I was impressed this fellow Roland Lieger had created that emulator for Commodore and had a website that offered a SID Player. It's likely still up. I hear those influences in K-POP. I'm almost '72 but it's not to watch that. My dance company did that sort of movement to Prince and Michael Jackson. History doesn't repeat but it rhymes. RIP.
I figured it was time I looked under the hood again on a modern computer. I have Xcode version 12 and only a playground sitting on the desktop so far. I'm another Happy Camper looking forward to learning something during the quasi quarantine. When I was impressed into going into dance in around 1980 in my 30's, my best teacher told me you don't do it just for exercise. You'd best perform.
Good health to you and thanks for being here.
Thank you for sharing this. And good health to you too. 😊

Hi Chris. Thank you for this video as I am an old coder (very old) and just getting into creating apps. I had started with REACT NATIVE, but have decided to go back to core platform dev using XCODE/SWIFT and ANDROID Studio as I have found REACT NATIVE a bit unprdictable and quite buggy depending on versions.
That aside I actually found this as a very useful introduction into XCODE as my previous hacking attempts had skipped past many basics that you have gone through.
Very interesting and helpful to an old hack like myself.

The reason why I’m using Xcode is I making a short film and I need a dummy app. I used to know my way around Xcode but its been a long time and I forgot how to use it.
And there are also many changes in Xcode 11 from Xcode 10. 🙂
