playing the “character” Poppy for so long really taught her quick wit and how to articulate her thoughts
I like that she hasn’t totally dropped the character altogether. She still has the same demeanor and manner of speaking, but with more sincerity.
She's done a great job evolving her character. I can almost believe that she really is a robot just becoming more human.

Poppy is one of my favorite artists, and Stagger was incredible. I didn’t think it could get any musically better than I Disagree tbh but EAT, Flux & Stagger - that entire era completely proved me wrong. She always thinking ahead and I loved the more natural and 90s grunge/rock vibes we got to build upon that screaming aesthetic she’s cultivated since Am I A Girl?

I can’t tell if the voice itself being so childlike is part of the character or if it’s an actual traumatic thing where that part of her identity persists because of something that happened or being in the business so young.
I think this is sorta just how she sounds. Not sure how of she's "trying" to sound like "that poppy" here.

She definitely has a lot of trauma. As to what that is I’m not sure, but if you look up the nicki swift video about 4 years ago for her it talks about some of it.

because she's still in character lol. the people saying this is how she talks normally are wrong, there are old out of character videos and interviews online and her voice is noticeably deeper. she's obviously putting on an affect here because it's still part of her image.
people have different voices. poppy spoke like this in her early poppytv videos too (at about age 17). she has a deeper voice too but doesn't use it as often.
Just saw Poppy in Denver it was amazing.
did anyone else notice she always released an ep before releasing a new album. i think the only time she didnt do this was after poppy.commuter and released am i a girl after but i like that she does that
