If Byard is the "worst" signing by Chicago, then I gotta say we signed some pretty damn good players.
They didn't say the worst signing by the Bears. They said the worst signing in the entire NFL, and that's total b.s

I'm fine with the Byard signing, but i wish we had drafted a developmental safety. But I'm sure we'll address that next season.

The Kevin Byard signing felt like us knowing we need to move on from BoJack and filling the void with a slightly better veteran while we scout up and comers. I think you hit it on the nail with having Jaquan back there could bring out Byard's ball hawk skills again. We will see. Whatever happens i feel strongly that he will be at least a slight upgrade from Jackson.
We coulda just got a safety in the draft but oh well
@@ambassadorbarak2884 there weren't that many good ones and we had limited draft picks. I think if Rome wasn't there at 9 Poles would've traded pick back and got more picks. But he wanted Rome.
Kevin Byard looked like Eddie Jackson looked when the defense switched from 3-4 to 4-3. And there were a lot of missed assignments by everybody, not to mention Sean Desai. Coincidence I think not just is what it is. The only difference, is that he is a better tackler. And more consistent tackler at the line. Who has more tfl's Byard or E-Jack. The Bears did good. He is the same type of Safety as far as playing style as E-Jack, but a better tackler on all levels of the field, and just as much of a ballhawk with another safety back there that he can trust. Again he didn't have that in Philly. 7.5 a year for 80 tackles and 2 int. average and veteran leadership. Them numbers look good to me.
Kevin Byard was a underrated pickup during free agency by Ryan Poles he provides you everything you got from Eddie Jackson while also providing us with alot more versatility on the defense
Definitely and plus Kevin can inter change with brisker and now Brisker doesn’t have to be A Box Safety they are now interchangeable

Kevin Byard will have a better year with us than last year.
I mentioned how Rome's leg reminded me of the last Bears first round wide receiver, Kevin White, on the Cubbears Fan Report. Hopefully, the coaches are just being cautious, because Rome doesn't have an injury history, but this is how Kevin White's problems got started.
Kevin White didn't even run a route tree in college he had to learn that in the NFL and he was injury prone

As for Byrd I liked Eddie Rob but he couldn't tackle for shit if he didn't pick off the pass it was most likely a TD so Byrd was a great pickup cuz he does both. I'm excited about this team and was big fields fan n I admit I hated on Caleb but the more he talks and more we see him I'm all for it I like the young man an fact we been a team for over 100 yrs how come nobody came up with the Bear claw till this kid... Chicago up BEARDOWN!!!!!

Byard is not $15M guaranteed. Bears can get out of contract in '25 for just $1.5. It is a great bridge signing until we can draft a replacement. He will do better than Jackson for a fraction of the cost.
