The "migration" is a mess, you can't reuse the same public ip and there's a ton of manual steps because the script provided only works for very basic setups. Microsoft f*ed up this one, I have migrated several application gateways now and the process couldn't be worse. It also costs more, obviously!

OAuth or OpenID Connect are your current options with v2

Application Gateway V1 will be retired on 28 April 2026
