  • Me and Johan have gotten new axes! Cheap ones that we can throw out of windows and wee on. I get to put in the shadow nanoflex transducers - which means I get to maximise the chance of being a bellend. Disclaimer! - before any prof guitar tinkerers get the red mist - most of this was filmed with tongue firmly in the cheek...

Excellent work, and super luck when the paddle bit punched through without snagging a chunk and splitting the end. Axes? interesting name there, how did that come about, from the action like choppin wood? Nanoflex transducer. Could I put one on my car muffler a make it sound really better..

Great video! Can you tell you are happy or not with nanoflex, please?do you have any video playing with it? Thanks

Thanks for the reply! Yes, I am happy overall with the Nanoflex, as I said in the video, I did two guitars, and one turned out OK. There were problems with that guitar in the video - I lost footage of the trouble shooting which took over a year and the string imbalance was never fully solved, so the pickup went into another guitar.
I would however recommend the quick mount SH NFX AC over the permanent install.

@@TSATMA Thank you, Very useful. I order already one, but it will go straight to the luthier, because of my clumsiness .

Oops! Clean forgot! Sorry! I'll be needing that guitar for busking in the summer, an it's still not sorted after a year. Will see what I can do...

Sir Tony Robinson! I noticed on the string package the text stating it was bought at 4Sound. A swedish chain, also I could read the word "pris" which is swedish for "price". What's the story behind this, have you visited Sweden?

Haha, yes, good old Tony! It's Norwegian 4Sound, I live in Oslo, :)

Haha, ok, that makes sense, I thought the price was a bit high, prices in Norway are twice as high as in Sweden. But then again, so is the wages.

Nice one! I play classical guitar myself, that's what made me go to your page in the first place (I think it was that vid of you installing the Nanoflex. Which by the way is an atrocious system, I tested one myself and my reaction was the same as yours haha. Went straight back to the shop). Btw, is that an Alhambra your playing? I recognize the black tuners

I've found the nanoflex to be the best undersaddle there is, I've had one in an old yamaha for years, and the cheap yamaha I built up for Johan is really good - the one I did in the video turned out bad as the bottom of the nut slot wasn't perfectly flat - still haven't fixed it...
The guitar with the black tuners is made by Norwegian luthier Yngvar Thomassen, Johan's is by the same maker too, we use schertler dyn-g on those ;)
I'll check your vids later :)

"Measuring is the enemy of precision". That paddle bit needs to go back in the drawer! Drill a smaller hole with a regular bit and finish that with a reamer. Got lucky there, and you had good reason to be nervous.
