Living in Uccle: between town and country. Uccle is not a dormitory town; on the contrary, it's quite dynamic. You'll find plenty of shops, particularly in the centre, on the chaussée d'Alsemberg, rue Xavier de Bue and the parvis de Saint-Pierre. The districts of Saint Job, Fort-Jaco, Vanderkindere and Bascule also offer a wide range of shops.
And if you want to sample Belgian gastronomy, you'll be spoilt for choice. You'll find plenty of restaurants here, some of them among the best in the capital. You can also pick up local produce at the open-air markets.
