It's so sad this movie didn't get a sequel. Martin Lawrence killed it and the concept was also great.
100% true . I don't like now to past time travel stories .but this one was great
Yeah. Them critics are cringe.
fr it was amazing
WTF it is a great movie screw the critics
This movie seems great but they killed it all
The only true way to survive the 14th century like Jamal did, is to have impenetrable plot armor like he does.
ok
ok
Ayyy my guy is here
Understandable have a great day
Ok
How the story of the sequel could've gone will now live rent-free in my head
The worst way some media can get stuck in your head is when ir did not have an ending, you create hundreds if not thousands of endings and continuantions.
@Safwaan Nah it would’ve been better if he went to a different time period like the wild Wild West or something 😂😂
been there since high school when i watched this.smh
Its been living rent free in mine since it came out 😂
The lions eat him.
jamal is so powerful that even “plot armor” isn’t enough to describe the abilities he possesses. he made a random guy, who’s mouth was empty, choke on a damn apple seconds before he was going to be executed
plot telekinesis maybe plot voodoo
living in a real medieval times is very different compared to how we see it in animations like the disney ones, living in medieval is not only terrifying and full of crazy religious people but also you live in a harsh condition due to poverty and such diseases are very common at that time, imagine getting a severe syphilis and fever at the same time because you got it from your surrounding that is very dirty that is infection virus carrying insect infested area
i want to see jamal in game of thrones westeros. 😹😹
This man gets more maidens in the 14th century than I get in the 21st 😂

I don't know if the movie was much worse than depicted here or if those critics were high on something, but this is absolutely sequel-worthy. The humor seems like something a lot of people can enjoy
Lol No, Movie seems pretty ok at best and it's beyond silly... Comedy might be the only thing that can save it but no scene was shown or talked of that was actually funny. it's Hollywood they can't do comedy.
@@vnolan633 You are very easily entertained I guess or have a weird sense of humor...
@@KashanA 💀
Yeah, it's easy to watch some of these 10 minute recaps. But this movie wasn't good over 95 minutes long. The jokes were kind of lazy and cheap. People had no interest to see Martin in this and continued his downslide in popularity at this time.
@@KashanA U know everybody different right?
I don't think someone like Jamal would do very well in 13th century England
True
He wouldnt. He is black so a muslim ,he doesnt have a wife so he is weird. He doesnt respect the crown in public si a public punishment would follow . He is such a loud person in a time where loud people were challenged to combat or followed the church and be more quiet
He has things going for him such as being a man,not being a jew ,not missing limbs or teeth, being able to read and write
To be fair 13th century england was not very "racist" in the way we might imagine today. Religion played a much bigger role in the middle ages than race, so if he acted like a catholic things might not be that bad (he would be seen as different and exotic though, that is certain). Race starts to be more of a factor in the 15th century with the great navigations and the begining of the slave trade.

Well with the crypto currency market favorable as it is, investing now wouldn't be a bad choice.

Who is Maria Jones? What platform are you on? I'm kinda interested
Okay, imagine if Jamaal fell into the ditch and found himself in the Cretaceous Period, 65 million years ago.
Easy: steal dino eggs & a bunch of other cool ancient life, come back, make a fortune/have fun
He would die very very quickly.
@@valinorean4816 until the egg hatched
And he found out that Dinosaurs can talk, fly a spaceship & built the pyramids.
dinosaur became extinct about 66 million to 65, like in the middle. Also if he found himself at 65 million yrs ago then there is no dinosaur... cause it is all extinct. 🗿💀
His demeanor is relaxed and clear, it deserves a lot of people to watch. Congratulations and good luck with your channel.. 👍👍
"Unfortunately, This movie got slammed by critics and it never got a sequel. Jammal Probably Died"
Damn, I thought a part 2 will ensue on Series Recapped. Probably the most anti climatic ending ever.
It wouldn't be Black Knight 2 though, it'd be called Black Gladiator?
thank you democrats that are sensitive about everything
@@Xobius yes lamaw!
I think he ran through the gate and survived.
Yeah, i was digging this
its sad that the movie was slammed by critics. critics are ultimately biased and shouldn't always be listened to. Morbius as a prime example.

Huh??????

me too. i completely forgot about it. but this is one of a handful of movies i had at my dads house that i watched on repeat. so glad i saw this.
I watched a scene from this movie in 2009 in the computer lab.
This movie was the first time I ever heard of a "Moor". They were medieval Moroccans. Very influential and powerful in Spain and Morocco at the time.
Moors weren’t sub Saharan though. They looked like Lebanese people

Should of got a sequel. Anytime this movie pops up it makes me happy, such a good part of my childhood. Man I miss when movies were simple like this.
Grew up watching this classic. Yes me and my family was always upset too at the fact it didn't get a sequel after teasing it like that.
You got to love how the Jammal imediatly fell in love with the first black female he came across lmao
I used to watch this movie alllll the time on hbo when I was a kid. Thank you for uploading this 🙏🏽😭
I have a strange feeling that someone like Jamal would do well in that time
I'm surprised he wasn't beheaded for his clothes cuz "witches"
Right
It was quite cpomon for merchants from africa and arabia to go there
I always wished this movie had a Sequel, who agrees?
Me!

Some of these movies can make someone insane, time travel is real , I live in Botswana and my story is that three of us as young men 27 years ago passed through a city, but it looked modern, it was only after the next day that we learnt that there has never been a city in that area, it was just the vast chobe national park
Wow, creepy yet fascinating
Just embrace it.

It’s such a shame rare are the movies that can still continue and still be as good and they could have had more things
You cannot have one movie without this guy and not laugh your heart out - what a comedy legend Martin Lawrence is - 😂
"So Jamal probably died!" LOL This made my day!!!
A lot of people don't seem to realize this was an adaptation of A Connecticut Yankee in Sir Arthur's Court by Mark Twain. If you liked the movie there is a really good reading of it by "Ron Swanson" on audible. The movie is good for what it is, but the book was amazing.
Read it years ago 😂🤝☮️
i aint gonna read

Yeh
There was a Edward the Black Prince. But, he was white.
Sounds bad ass but still racist
@@jrt2792 Yeah, back in those days 'black or white' had nothing to do with race. That's a modern invention.
@@echelon2k8 Of course black and white had to do with race but most people never saw a white man if they were black and vice-versa
Martin Lawrences most funniest movie. I loved the part where he shouts...do-doo
People tend to forget, 13th century ago, people are still like us.. They not in battle and rage 24 hour a day or live in harsh environment like in the movies.. They also got entertainment like poem, story, actor.. Sometime they involve in war, just same like today.. Most of the time, they are trader, farmer, craftsman and so on..
Exactly, people in Medieval Europe were STILL people. They had jobs, hobbies, games, lives outside of wars.
They just didn’t have tv or cars at least we’ve medicine now.
Eh life is tough enough now it was even worse back then it wasn't all bad but it still sucked.
This film actually has a very light hearted and comedic take on the time period.
Fun fact: Chris Tucker was offered the role of Jamal and got the part. He backed out and it went to Martin Lawrence.
I remember when i first saw this movie. I thought it was one of Martin Lawrence's funniest movies especially the band scene where he taught them to play "Dance To The Music" lol.
Please what’s the name of the movie

Movie was so underrated and sad that it didn't get a sequel 🤦💯💯
Man i saw this movie literally yesterday 🤣🤣Martin Lawrence is awesome 10/10 ❤️❤️.
The scene where Jamal tries to make the King's musicians play new music always gets me. The scene where the horse is practically challenging him is also my fav.
imagine if he went back to America instead of England
That wouldn’t be a fun time to live in America
Plenty of slaves and no castle!
I know this is a joke… but there were no Americans during that period, there were only Native Americans living during that time
(Well I think, correct me if I’m wrong)
America didn't exist at that time

I love how he falls in the moat, when he comes around at the end hes completely dry
I watched this movie so many times as a kid. Martin is hilarious.
Man I remember this movie, it was actually really entertaining. One thing you did not mention is that the girl both in the past and in the present has the same scar, which kind of implies she is either a descendant or a reincarnation.
I remember watching this as a kid, at first not liking it and *Martin Lawrence* just drew me in and I watched the whole thing lol
Plot twist:Jamal turns into one punch man and kill everyone in the set

Me and my Brother LOVED this movie back in the day!
We'd love to see a sequel!
imagine if he accidentally time traveled to the 1700s
……
Going by his appearance? It would be interesting. English slavers were picky about who they took and they always wanted slaves that were "dark skinned, tall, with unblemished skin". Jamal doesn't look like the ppl they bought as slaves. He'd be seen as worthless. Some tribes were left alone because of being "difficult" and suicidal.
Let's just hope he doesn't end up in most of Europe or Africa or Middle East
Still better than being born in the 1300s and 1400s, the black death killed a lot of people and diseases were very common back then and with lack of medication the lifespan would be extremely low. In the 1700s, he would have more infrastructure and safety.
@dankwaifuNo, he would not have because slavery didn't end until the 1800s in England.
sir jamal, invented the rap music in 1328
The singing/dance scene from this movie will forever live in my head 😂.
No ones going to mention Jamal had a fresh fade through the whole movie?
😂😂😂😂😂
Never knew this movie but now that I know I must watch this in full!
I had this movie on VHS as a kid. I've probably seen it at least 100 times. I bring it up all the time to my friends and no one ever knows what I'm talking about.
The man didn’t take his bags to the past but changes outfit everyday. LOL 😂
I never noticed that 😭😭😂😂

Logic is temporary, Fit is eternal
now that ending was comedy gold. 😂 should have learned the first time to not accidentally fall into a moat.
This movie has an awesome twist, that I didn't see coming!
I just watched this like 3 times this year alone already 😂
I watched this in theaters when it came out.
They basically took my '90s childhood movie, A Kid in King Arthur's court, and made it for grownups instead. XD
This movie is a classic. I remember watching it as a kid.
Interesting how I can't understand most kids nowadays without an urban dictionary but Martin could understand these medieval people LMBO
