@@GeogJuice I'm going to see the flat for purchase in the building on that street I was always fascinated by the history of that place. The building is old and stands in the corner of dość street and bridge end. Do you have already an idea of next street to look at?
9:40 Dad banked at the Skyrack and Morley in Meadow Lane - I wonder if that is the curved building in the centre. 10:30 - The answer is "No". But the bank must have been close to there.
My family lived just off |Meadow Lane. I was Christened and Confirmed at Christ Church - and went to Christ Church Infants school. This was such a walk down memory lane!!
Thanks Harry. I am sure I will cover Water Lane in the future. So much going on there in the past. Have you checked out my Camp Field video? That area is quite close to a section of Water Lane.
Love your videos, some of these area's I've never heard of are brilliant to learn about even if they sadly no longer exist. Could you do a video about the hunslet/Sturton area as that has had massive change as well over the decades 🤔
Thanks for commenting kyle. That's good to hear. Thanks for the suggestion. I will give it some thought. There are some very interesting changes around Hunslet/Sturton.
@@GeogJuice yeah the knowsthorpe part of hunslet industrial estate has had major changes and also the complete demolition of Stourton village. I was shocked when I saw a recent post on Facebook about it with pictures from the early 20th century. The size of the community that used to be there.
I used to live in Bath House on Bath Road for a short time my Gran lived for a long time and when we'd moved up to Belle Isle in the school holidays we would walk from Bath Road to Meadow lane to catch the bus home there was a big gas works near by
So they are creating a green space and improved pedestrian movement but they demolished all the houses and all the businesses drive in and out. So sad they’ve removed all the character of the area. Excellent video.
Student apartments, chavs, cycle lanes no one uses, abandoned shops/petrol station, Asda head office, crown point retails park with nothing good, nightclubs, traffic of cars, lorries and buses.
Love your videos. I'd really like to see one about Brewery Wharf and Leeds Dock!
I love your videos so much! I can't get enough! Please keep them coming.
Thank you! Will do!

@@mariuszszymczak3644 Quite a coincidence - I am starting to plan a video about Bridge End!
I see a change from life and community to utter soulessness
Super nostalgic video. Many thanks for sharing. …….
Another fascinating video! Looking forward to many more. I would be really interested in one on kirkstall road, especially the end closest to town

6:28 The traffic light is interesting. It looks smaller than modern ones, but why is it there? Was the junction busy enough to warrant light control?

@@kylereed9309 Thanks again for the tip. I am going to look into making a video about Stourton after my next video is uploaded.

Just traced my family back to here in the 1600 - do you know the earliest map that features it? Very interesting video - thank you
There's one from 1770, but for more detail you should look at the 1815 map. Both available at Leeds Central Library.
Thanks...
Another great interesting piece.
I wonder if 'Noah's Ark ' was an area of 'Interesting Souls'...
Sort of 'Two of Every Kind' ?
