Could you also share some knowledge on a massive disk dehydration causes, any possible treatment to prevent it if you are not a smoker :D this is a kind of very relatable to me as I was diagnosed with this condition at a very young age and now I am 33 and still facing this problem causing more and more operations done to me. Thank you for your kind words. Disc degeneration (which some people also refer to as 'disc dehydration') is a very complex phenomenon. There is a strong genetic component to this condition, and it is exacerbated by various other factors (such as smoking, heavy physical labor, heavy weight-lifting etc). Once disc degeneration starts it is not possible to reverse this condition, unfortunately.
Dr your presentation was very nice. What is a normal spinal diameter at the various levels from L1 to L5 for person of old age at 60. What is the spinal diameter at various levels from L1 to L5 for a person with sciatica

Protrusion is a herniated disk or bulge? My mri said I have a l4-l5 small protrusion my thigh my big toe the whole inner side going up to my knee when I walk a lot then I sit or lay down my whole glute outer side of my thigh glute feel pain and numb. Also my ankle outer side feel pain. I had a l5-s1 discectomy done took other type of pains but now I feel those symptoms.
