FYI, Excalibur dehydrators are manufactured in Sacramento CA. If you live close, you can save on shipping by buying directly from them, they also have a “seconds” option for ones that were returned or slightly damaged. I got one that supposedly had a dent and couldn’t even see where it was. The noise of these starts getting to me (not loud but just so constant) that I either put ours on top of the dryer or on our patio. Dried orange slices taste like Starburst candy, no joke.
Interesting to see how you smushed the whole bananas. I've been dehydrating bananas for many years; i generally separate them into 3 vertical sections. Most folks don't even realize bananas are sectioned, but they are, and they dry faster too. And yes, it is candy, and so are the dates. Thanks for all you share.
Another great video. I'm very proud to be a Legend's member and to have purchased your cookbook. I love, love, love your beautiful cookbook. It's so pretty that I don't want to get it dirty while I cook in the kitchen so I ordered a bamboo bookstand to hold the pages open while I'm cooking. Thank you so very much for all that you're doing. It's truly appreciated.
Thank you for this!!! I see making a cookie out of it for my purse on the go. Thanks for answering the person about baking in oven. It’s how I’ll have to do👍👏🏼❤️
I did the 12 hours and couldn't unstick them from the paper ..left as is and did the remaining 6 hours...no better... So I thought ok I will increase the temp....did another 4 hours... Still not done.... I give up....
WOW!! Just when I was thinking about what to do with my overripe bananas this pops up. Thank you Jill!! What kind of sheets are those in the dehydrator? Could you please post link? Thank you!!
I always throws my Charleston chews and ate them out of the freezer because they had a nice nap to him and that would be a perfect way to prolong this desert to last for weeks and the texture is like eating honeycomb candy
@@wholefoodplantbasedcookingshow hahaaa its hilarious how it seems every second or 3rd question says CAN I BAKE THESE IN THE OVEN? and you dont get stroppy or cranky Jill. what are u referring to thats full of fat? cos the cinnamon isnt high fat and neither are the ingredients for the choc spread. its just cocoa powder, dates vanilla and water. nothing high fat there dear.
I agree with T Kaye! Not everyone likes music or the taste of music being played and some people would love to hear a person speak without having to also listen to something else at the same time.
Made this for the second time yesterday and I don't think I'll ever make banana chips again. Much faster and so, so good. Thanks!

Oooh, I just got a bunch of oranges that I won't be able to get through, so I will try that.
Lol. I put mine on the deck too.

Jill, how did you know Nick loves bananas? He got excited! Thank you sooo much.. his little face lit up! 🤗🤗
Oh my goodness! That makes me soooo happy 😊 and you
I intend to try those banana treats but can you do them is an oven? I do not have a dehydrator,
Yes, You can bake them on a parchment lined baking tray and baked at the lowest temperature setting 180F ish and check every couple hours
Ooh boy! This is too dangerous for me, but I absolutely love your ingenuity! What a treat!
I was hoping this was oven baked. But still looks really delicious. Also I did think, are they going to use the banana peels? Glad you didn’t

Love those Coveralls, where did you get them?

Dang, gotta run to the market. I just ran out of organic bananas. 😳😱😩😆
I have the same dehydrator. I don’t have the sheets you are using. Will parchment paper work? Thanks. BTW the music is fine. 😊
I think so
@@wholefoodplantbasedcookingshow Have you used a silpat mat in your dehydrator? Maybe that would work 🤔

18 hrs, wow. longg time to wait for a small amount of food lol
I normally fill my dehydrator full so it is worth it.
👍👍👍
I just cut the bananas in half before I dehydrate. I would never add anything to them. Especially something with high fat content. That's just me.

Can you turn off the piano music? Would love to watch without hearing your music.
You can cry about it
Really? I thought it was nice 🙂

The music is not more powerful than her voice, very pleasant!
