I googled how to force mono audio in Windows 10 for the first time because of this video - please reupload this vid in mono, guys! " Click the “Ease of Access” icon in the Settings window. Click “Other options” in the sidebar. Scroll down to the bottom of the window you'll find “Mono audio” under Audio options. ... That's it! If you ever want to disable this option and re-enable standard stereo audio, just return here and set Mono audio to “Off”."
I watched this whole thing with only one healphone ear on, so when I got down to the comments I was worried RUclips had glitched and given me a different comment section
To make this talk watchable for myself, I downloaded it via youtube-dl. Then I extracted the audio track while muxing it down to a mono audio source: ffmpeg -i The\ Shapes\ in\ Your\ Story\ -\ Narrative\ Mapping\ Frameworks-_Xrsn2HBs6w.mp4 -ac 1 monoaudio.wav And then I replaced the audio in the mp4 file: ffmpeg -i The\ Shapes\ in\ Your\ Story\ -\ Narrative\ Mapping\ Frameworks-_Xrsn2HBs6w.mp4 -i monoaudio.wav -c:v copy -map 0:v:0 -map 1:a:0 The\ Shapes\ in\ Your\ Story\ -\ Narrative\ Mapping\ Frameworks-_Xrsn2HBs6w_fixed.mp4 The playback is now a stereo playpack of the merged mono-track, which means both speakers get both tracks of the original audio at the same time - no more left to right movements.
This guy lost me at his perceived importance of having three genders as a choice. Also why does every talk about story, storyboarding, script writing and narrative design involve RPGs?
Welcome to the binaural audio experience of standing in a GDC lecture theatre and wildly swivelling around 180 degrees
About right.

Despite audio issues, this is a fantastic talk! Loved it!

and this folks is why you always convert dialogue presentation audio to mono.
Jesus, the audio is awful.
Indeed, it's periodically shifting to the right speaker and back to stereo. Highly irritating.
Yeah it's unwatchable...
@Sandor Szigeti Brilliant!
I have a mono button on my mixer, SUCKERS!!!!
He mentioned near the start a talk about writing where English is your second language. Anyone know what that may have been by any chance?

Easier to turn on mono audio in OS settings. On Windows just search "mono" and hit the toggle. Switch it back when finished.
Aloha and mahalo for the info!
Did he ever finish the software that automates branch shapes?
I didn't notice the audio issues with earbuds, but now that I'm wearing my headset I think I'm about to throw-up.
I'd really like to listen to this, but I can't without a pop filter. All I can hear is mouth noises.
I just took one earbud off works
So, wait... seriously. You haven’t finished Heavy Rain?
He's making this much more complicated than it needs to be.
