I feel sorry for Shoko. She genuinely liked him and tried her best to make it work despite their lack of common interests. Karin just wanting to date him out of pity is cruelty at its finest however. It makes the partner appear like they were always second rate and will never be good enough for you. Shoko treated Ichiro far better than that.

Karin has no right to get mad at Ichiro. She was the one who brought it upon herself. And what was she expecting at 7:21. Of course he’s not notice if you don’t tell him your feelings. How is he suppose know If you constantly make bad remarks about him and insulting him. And what she said at 2:05 shows she’s not even honest about her feelings and wanted to date Ichiro out of pity. I’m not sure if Shoko liked Ichiro but she did try her best to make it work but Ichiro liked his tsundere Toxic childhood friend. No self respect for himself there. I guess this is why they save love makes you blind.
There have been only two stories on this channel where Mc rejects the tsundere and chooses another girl and two stories where MC had the guts to cut ties with his toxic tsundere childhood friend.
I enjoyed the story and the VA's were perfect relaying inner conflict and emotion towards each other in a realistic timing. Keep up great work.

Well he had nothing in common nor was really attracted to the other girl, so no way he was choosing her. He was also never honest about his feelings either. He admitted in the back of his mind he always liked her and never pursued her. He deserve part of the blame for the tsundere relationship as he could of ended it in a number of ways.
There has been plenty of those lately though
While I do agree, this is easily better than most stories like this. Since his relationship with Karin is overall positive, all this starts over a one simple tease that goes a little too far, if this were like other stories she would do stuff like that regularly and probably be the one who sends out the offer to be his girlfriend to the whole class, and frankly, his relationship with Shoko just isn't as positive. He didn't like her romantically from the start and their relationship started due to a spir of the moment, and during their relationship it's blatantly clear that it was just never gonna work out, they just don't have similar interests, he loves creepy stuff and doesn't like the cutesy stuff while Shoko loves cutesy stuff and hates creepy stuff to the point where she called him lame for his interests and throughout the week he shows he's just not feeling it. With Karin though they actually have similar interests, they both enjoy their discussions and each other's company, unlike 90% of relationships between MC's and childhood friends this one is an actually good and healthy and it feels actually genuine, that's more than you can say with Shoko. So while I do agree that these stories get generally annoying how he picks the toxic and idiotic childhood friend over the person who treats him like a proper human being, this is the rare case where the childhood friend was the right choice. Why wouldn't he pick the only one of the two who actually likes his interests?
I want to see Shoko's thoughts - I meant I totally believe that she was there only for the couples stuff. But I was kinda hoping for a tad bit of drama. Like, she doesnt love him yet, but spending the day and such she is starting to like him a bit, kinda deal. Then when Karin and Ichiro got together, she whispers to Karin as she leaves "You screw this up, ill be back and I wont let go".
This storyline reminded me of Naoto Kun and his tomboyish childhood friend to ask the entire class of his girlfriend. And Karen stood up. my 2nd favourite story in your Channel.

Like c'mon, I've seen more stories lile this with tsundere childhood friends and saying "Haha, you are not popular" isn't the same as "You pathetic loser, you aren't popular". Shoko was the best character in this manga cause she’s all about being happy in life as for the dude he just doesn’t care much for anything plus the childhood friend was just annoying being from teasing him to just think about herself that she deserves him not shoko cause she loved him since the beginning but couldn’t admit it.
I would rather pick shoko who are volunteer and very loyal to mc. Not Karen who are very tsundere.

Karin and Ichiro kept telling the whole class that they weren't dating, yet Karin acting like Ichiro betrayed her when he was going out with Shoko. Sometimes, being honest in the beginning goes a long way.

My guess is that the guy that Shoko dates would be the one that Karin rejected, as I think that would be the best outcome. Also, I would not doubt that both the guy that Karin rejected, as well as Shoko, low key knew that Karin was into Ichiro, and so she planned out everything, including the reactions to Ichiro's statement in the class.
This reminds me of the same story this channel uploaded way back. The difference is the mc is Paul hikari. But in all honesty. Shoko is the best choice here. Mc is playing with two hearts here

Tbh, Karin wasn't that bad. She just had that tsundere trait of using a roundabout way to confess instead of being straight honest like Shoko. If you watch most tsundere childhood stories like this, you will see that Karin's miles better than other tsundere FMCs.

In this regard, I'm gonna have to be against Ichiro all together here. Karin is a typical tsundere but was probably a lot more timid compared to other tsunderes, and Karin who is genuinely honest seemed pretty understanding of the situation even though she had all rights to fly off the handle on Ichiro if she wanted to.
Ichiro himself however, while knew he was doing wrong felt like he had to force himself the entire time. I'm glad everything sorta worked out though.

PS: And yes, Karein should have been honest from the beggining, but like I said from the other video; childhood friends are always nervous to confess their feelings towards the guy they love. I'm glad Karin could become honest and stop being a tsundere. And I liked how she was more subdued compared to most tsunderes and understood the situation when explained to her instead of getting more jealous and tsundere.
Though all of it could have been avoided had Karin been honest and upfront and not tease and mock Ichiro to the point he snapped and got Shoko as a girlfriend.
I'm glad that they could reconcile and get together, but I still recognize that Karin really put everything at risk by using her tsundere side as a roundabout way to confess her feelings to Ichiro.

In this story MC was the one who should have deserved an L in this situation and not either of the women (Karin was typical tsun but she did not even do anything mega-offensive, and Shoko genuinely tried to connect with Ichiro), indecisiveness and not taking the "L" by telling everyone in class he made the impulsive statement just to protect his own ego.
What really rubbed me the wrong way was when Ichiro said "her loss" when Karin asked what about Shoko after eveything as if he was not the one who selfishly put out an "unknowingly hopeless offer", and even if Shoko was right about her looking like the villain if she was the one to dump him immediately instead just after saying she wanted to date him and basically blackmailed him, he was still the one to put out that cringe offer in the first place.
Just thinking about it even more pisses me off as if women like Shoko experience this as a norm, and reverse for men as well.

Didn't this happen once before
I see a lot of you saying Karin wasn't that bad, but if I'm being honest she is one of the worst tunderes I have had the non pleasure of witnessing. Let me list if the oh so great things she has done. 1: for a least three minutes of run time at the beginning was spent belittling her "best friend". 2: refuses to still at least hand out with her "best friend" after being proved wrong about getting a girlfriend.3: this is the worst one for me, she couldn't even muster the words "I love you" after saying "i can't stand to see you with anyone else" and instead tries to make the mc look stupid for even suggesting that as a option. The mc ain't safe from this heat neither, I'm fully confident when I say this guy doesn't know his left from right. He was being insulted in the first five minutes of viewing him, imagine that kind of egotistical women in his life for like a couple years. i don't know if this guy understands how mental abuse works cause if your grown and conditioned with it you often can't tell when you are being mentally abused, but through this entire story the nicest thing she did was hold his hand, Mind you she only did 2 nice things. She would go as far as sabotaging a date because she couldn't be honest with herself and others and lost her chance, she was a scumbag all the way to this stories end. Not to mention the first thing she does when they were about to date........IS ASK HIM TO BUY STUFF! If you view this girl in any type of good light, then you either being mentally abused or are incredibly biased. I hate typing long messages and dunking on this story but my fingers know no bounds when it comes to criticism.
