  • Join California Garden Goddess as we build two types of edible containers that can be used in almost any space. I planted these two containers back in March and was able to get several harvests of lettuce, herbs and even a couple of early strawberries by May! It’s easy to build an edible container garden and I believe that anyone can be a container gardener. These bowls will do well outside in full sun with a bit of shade if you live in a hot area.
In addition to showing you how to plant two types of edible container gardens, I’ll also show you what to do if you need to replace a portion of your bowl. I replaced the Marvel of 4 Seasons lettuce with the Dark Opal basil to prepare the bowl for the summer. I planted the following types of strawberries: Honeoye, Yellow Wonder Wild, Chandler and Sequoia. I also planted the Bronze Beauty Calendula in both bowls. I love the way the creeping thyme drapes over the bowl. It doesn’t look like it’s going to flower this spring, but I love grabbing a handful for adding to my veggies, fish, poultry and beef along with rosemary and savory.
