Fantastic modern take on "The Mezzotint". Thanks so much, as a dedicated M. R. James reader, I I am sincerely grateful - it gave me the same hauntingly creepy feeling as the original even when I knew what was coming (yet because of the new spin and context of this story- I didn't). It leaves me wanting more and wishing there were more film adaptations of the great classic ghost stories made as well as this.
STYLE and SUBSTANCE abound in this mesmerizing short that left me breathless. The use of the Tchaikovsky Nocturne was especially evocative throughout. I was moved and drawn in as few films I have seen. Frankly, I wish it had never ended! It was THAT good! :)
Brilliant, I love that it was shot in black and white. I am a great fan of M. R. James and this adaptation is something I think he would have approved of. Thank you very much and please do more, let’s get you some more subscribers, you deserve it.
Well I just stumbled upon this via bluray.com, what a cool creepy little film. Very well shot, edited and acted. Nice one. Nothing like an M.R James bit of creepiness. These sort of dramas take me way back. Thanks.
Well done! This is one of the very few successful examples of an original and well-loved story, altered significantly from the original. The lack of dialogue has a lot to do with its success, I think; that and the choice of music.
I enjoy film adaptations of M R James ghost stories, such as the BBC Christmas Ghost Story series. I also really liked this film. You have given the story a modern take but you still retained that M R James feel to it. I think the B&W film, lack of dialogue and background music all come together and make it tell the story in an effective and atmospheric way. Well done.
Eerie atmosphere, silent and the modern use of the camera's screen really does it. Congrats! The scene where she's killed reminded me of Coppola's Dracula's battle scenes. Well done.
Loved it!❤ thank you

Very nicely filmed; monochrome really suits the story.
Incredibly creepy! I loved it.
Excellent,,,dare I say better that Mark Gattiss' version on BBC this Christmas Eve.

Thanks for watching! Yes, that was inspired by Coppola's DRACULA!
Superb. Well done on this incredibly atmospheric and successful adaptation. You should try others …
Interesting rendition of MR James. I was going to ask where it was filmed but more specifically where in the Hudson Valley is Cold Harbor?
Cold Spring:

And Beacon is just north. Both great places to visit & hike. Thanks for watching!
Poor baby and family...really hope they didn't suffer☹😥🤦♂️
