  • We have been sent Tiny Towns by its publisher AEG, and have had a lot of fun building towns in a fantasy setting.
You are the mayor of a tiny town in the forest in which the smaller creatures of the woods have created a civilization hidden away from predators. This new land is small and the resources are scarce, so you take what you can get and never say no to building materials. Cleverly plan and construct a thriving town, and don't let it fill up with wasted resources! Whoever builds the most prosperous tiny town wins!
In Tiny Towns, your town is represented by a 4x4 grid on which you will place resource cubes in specific layouts to construct buildings. Each building scores victory points (VPs) in a unique way. When no player can place any more resources or construct any buildings, the game ends, and any squares without a building are worth -1 VP. The player with the most VP wins!
But what are the 5 reasons that we think you may like this game?

Favorite AEG game is a tough one. They make some good ones. I’d probably choose Cascadia but I also enjoy Ready Set Bet, Point Salad, Cubitos, and Tiny Towns. I have Calico on hold with an OLGS until I hit the free shipping threshold.

Oh, forgot I also have Dead Reckoning backed on KS. Guessing that one moves to the top of my list.
AEG might be my most owned publisher in my collection.

Cascadia is probably one of those that we most want to play. Just not had the opportunity so far, and it's been so popular that it now feels like a big gap

Dead Reakoning, yes! That looks right up Libby's Street, let us know your thoughts when the KS arrives

@@BoxedMeeples Will do! I’ve heard it described as “pirate Scythe”. And I need a pirate game in my collection.

Great explanation! I never thought I would like this one because I assumed it was too much like others I have. But it does sound really interesting. I may have to check it out 😊

Thanks, we are glad it came across well. What are the other games you were comparing with? If we have played them, we'd be more than happy to give you our 2 penneth worth.

@@BoxedMeeples I guess because the name was tiny towns. I was thinking it was about building a town. Which it is, but I was thinking it was done more like Architects or seven wonders duel. Collecting resources through cards or worker placement. I also have villagers that I haven’t played yet, but that I think is building up a community. So these all seem like similar themes. But I like the way this is done on a grid and that you are trying to make it match a pattern on your card. It seems a lot more puzzlely than I thought.
