You are so right. In fact I'm of the opinion that when Williams scored "Azkaban" he brew a musical potion so complicated it would make Snape open his eyes wide in bewilderment (the ingredients are the elements of jazz, renaissance, contemporary avangarde and folk music, as well as his very own, easily recognizable orchestral sound). And so, the three composers who carried the franchise on afterwards, simply had no choice but to harken back to JW's take on Hogwarts. I had a distinct feeling you'd love it. 😉
Thank you. Nice to know we value the same music. In my opinion, by the time Williams was asked to compose the score to "The Prisoner of Azkaban" he did it so perfectly, all the while staying true to his easily recognizable style, that all composers who wrote for the franchise afterwards (Patrick Doyle, Nicholas Hooper & Alexandre Desplat) referred to what he did in their own output, most notably by reusing "Hedwig's Theme" and by keeping the music firmly rooted in the orchestral idiom. Take care. Love from Poland.
Hot take incoming: Prisoner of Azkaban is one of Williams' finest works. Yet another sweet performance, Bartosz! 💛💜
