Your candid photo killed me ahahahaha, oh the chronic illness life, as did your cape montage! Although now that I think about it, with how much of a fabulous badass hero lady you are, you should have had a cape long ago!
You're bright and shining attitude, even in the hardest of times always makes my day! Good luck on the continued recovery and as an anime nerd you should call your hamster Hamsuke.
I think it is awesome that you have something to help you to cope with the pain. The fact that you have been smiling and have such a positive attitude really inspires me. It's night here and I been bitching about my new CPAP, but seeing what you are dealing with and smiling humbled me.
I am amazed at how much crocheting you have done! Wow! I got myself into quite a quandary...I asked on a group on Facebook if anyone wanted to make Crochet Prayer Squares (You can look them up on Google or Pinterest) for swap, thinking I was helping someone from another Facebook group who was having a poor response on her own attempts to get a swap going. Well, I had over 224 comments to read, answer and write down names of everyone who wanted to participate! I got a great response and now I have my own swap going and I have never done this before. This is where Faith comes in. Got will help me through this project and lots of crocheted Prayer Squares will be made and sent all over the world! That's over 200 prayers being said! So, I'm excited, yet scared I'm going to drop the ball somewhere as I have injections in my Facet Joints in my Cervical Spine on Wednesday, and bloodwork on Thursday and no idea how I will be feeling since I've been off of my blood thinners for a week because of the pending bloodwork. How do you do all of this Christina? You are amazing, answering comments and being so interactive with everyone! I really got a sense of how hard you work at your channel! Have a great week!!
So glad to see your smiling face...praying he pain underneath the smiles subsides for you!Wish you could hear my son Joshua pray for you each night...he always mentions how amazing you are that you are so joyful through the pain and that he knows God is holding your hand🙏🙌🙏
Oh it’s so frustrating and upsetting when you have to chase people down relentlessly when you really don’t have it in you and shouldn’t have to, and then they act all snarky like you’re the problem. Ugh! I feel you. Glad you finally got your saline!
I am so jealous you can still crochet. I had to stop because I can't rotate my right wrist without things in my hand and wrist sliding around. I also developed perpetual tendonitis in my hand, wrist, and lower part of my arm. It just wouldn't heal. I had tons and tons of yarn that I sold a few months ago. Your work is fabulous!
You are so creative with your crochet!!! Also, it was amazing to see how much that saline helps just by watching you change in the videos. Glad to see you recovering. Take care of yourself! 💙
Boring weeks are good when you’re recovering from major surgery! Take advantage and try to rest even when your body isn’t forcing you, even though I know that’s not easy for you. Ugh, can’t believe the nursing company was leaving you in the lurch like that... Love the picture you inserted. The crocheted cape is adorable! I definitely thought it was a bolero when it was just a front view, so it’s really cool to see the back view too.
*Christina, surrounded by yarn projects*: "I think I may actually be going insane...." lol! Glad you are making progress all around. :) You go, girl! Get that stuff up on Esty.
So sorry you were having such a hard time getting someone to access your port... And hip hip hurray for when it get done! Your little budy up on your shoulder is very cute! Lol it was the first thing I noticed while you are chatting! Sooooo many crocheting projects! Awesome job keeping yourself busy! I am so glad you are working on being on the mend so far for this surgery - praying you keep healing well so you can get the next one done and over with!
+laurie purney Awww! I used to have hamsters growing up. Oh how I loved those little guys! But they were so so mean 😂 They bit like crazy. They were lucky they were so adorable!
Thanks for the tip on yarn shopping! I need to start crocheting again - I stopped when I was dx with RA. I'm doing much better, but gastroparesis has really limited my activities - I can't eat enough to be very physically active. I'm refreshing my French language skills, attempting to learn German, but I'd like another productive hobby. Do you find metal hooks difficult for your fingers? Have you tried bamboo hooks? I'm thinking of investing in some.
For a hamster name... Hamsters make me think of the Internet meme from the 90s, Hampster Dance. The creator of it had a hamster named Hampton, apparently. Cute name!
awww, i hope your pain improves, your leg warmers are my fav :) fusions look pretty darn painful.. ive got to have my foot fused because of my eds, but youre doing amazing !!!
You are amazing and have a beautiful soul your just so caring of others when your in a lot more pain than you prob let on im hoping to learn crochet may be disaster lol i want to make premature size poncho as don't find many items in preemie other than sleepers etc its so hard and dolls clothes are ok if sleepers also people think its ok to price preemie clothes a lot more expensive than newborn
Eighty degrees in February!?! It is 30 degrees here in Idaho, we have lots of snow ❄️👍 Thank you for your updates, you are amazing, but you're right, REST & pace yourself! 😉 You and your family are in our prayers!
You always make the day brighter🌻, thank you so much for bringing us along with you! I’m an I Love Lucy and Audrey fanatic, too, but I’m terrible at crocheting! Would you please make a crochet instructional vid? 🙏 💙&🐘
Sorry to hear you had such a frustrating time with the nurses...relieved to hear you finally got your port accessed...love your hats and things you made(I couldn't spell chro-shay)my daughter taught herself how to do that and made hats for me and her sisters for christmas
I wish I could meet up with you and learn how to crochet. I've tried following videos but can't seem to get the hang of it sadly. Glad to see how well you're doing :)
Woul it be worth doing yourself then no probs. I’ve prob missed the reason somewhere along the line. Hang in there, sending positive thoughts and prayers
I haven’t been watching for all that long, so I’m sorry if this question comes out wrong. (I plan on sticking around though, I love your channel) why don’t you access your own port? Just curious since you’ve been having difficulties with home health. -from another EDSer
judgingfromafar since she is been fuse from her neck to practically down to her ribs, she has mentioned is very hard for her to see down where she would need to access her port since her range of movement is so limited and her mom is not good with needles. Those are the things she has mentioned in previous vlogz 😉
I feel your pain. I have two veins that are accessible, both to the sides on my dominant arm, and every time I need any kind of bloodwork, there will be someone who wants to try my left, or a vein I know nobody's ever actually hit... I used to let them try, get stabbed seven times and then they'd listen to me. Now I just start upfront with "unless you're an actual miracle worker, you want this one right here." My last nurse called in her colleague who was apparently an expert at getting the veins on premature babies, and even she went for the one I suggested.
wow you are doing so well, for the scar you showed in your last vlog. I don't remember if you said what had actually gone wrong to cause you to need surgery again. Ie what they found and what they did when you had surgery. Any way the way you handdle surgery makes me not so phobic about a few things
that I need, thatare not advisable to leave, but only small. My worry is my neck during intubation and having no options for pain meds after. Any way all the best for the rest of it, especially your trip home.
Wow sitting up so soon after surgery You're amazing they shouldn't have waited that long for Your saline You should have Your Mom learn to access Your port and get the saline delivered to Your house then You wouldn't have to wait You should seriously consider this the cape You made is cute all the things You made are nice
I so love your Afgan/shawl thing you showed off. I so want one in the same colors lol. I get you girl on my free time I'm making blankets and scarves wile mom and her friends drink 22 year old Crocheting knitting, and sowing girl over here. Lol mom even dops things in a bag outside my room for me to fix up for her. Find it silly so always working on something. I will take photos of my stuff now and PM you on facebook. One sec.
Omg it’s not that hard to access a port! (My brother had a port for several years.. nobody ever *missed* wtf.) I was so frustrated for you. That’s crazy. Have you considered learning how to access your own port? I get my port next month and the first thing I’m gonna learn is how to access and de-access myself. Or maybe your mom could? I hate that you were stuck without saline soo long. /: I know how saline really makes you feel like a human again.
Skyler Gray Because of her fusion she can’t look down to be able see what she’s doing in order to access herself. Lauren (her sister) left a comment above in response to their mom learning how to access her port, essentially said: “Christina has trust issues, and their mom is queasy around needles.” Good luck with your port surgery! My Saline Infusions always makes me feel way more human as well! They have improved my QOL so significantly!!!
Sarah Chalk I find it kinda funny (not ha-ha funny) her mom is queasy around needles after all the procedures and surgeries and everything she’s right there for. Makes sense about the fusion. I wonder if she could look in a mirror? It would take talent, but I’m sure it’s do-able. I just hope she doesn’t get stuck in a situation like that again. /: Thanks for the good luck! It’s the same surgeon who did my feeding tubes so I’m super comfortable with him. I’m just 100% out of access points and chronically dehydrated, and I have ridiculous POTS flares. I’m so ready to start having regular infusions + pain management and even decent QOL.
Erin'sx World A lot of people with invisible illness suffer from both of those, I luckily don't because I've got a great family and awesome friends who know my limits. Even though I might not have come to school some will come over in the evening (when I feel best, not good but meh) and we will just silently watch a movie. Just the gesture of them coming and wanting to cheer me up keeps me happy! I'm not saying it's all flowers and sunshine, once a week I'll have a good sob about how unfair this crap is. Of course this isn't the case for everyone but even if we don't have these illnesses we do have 'the days' as I call them. Days where it does look like depression/anxiety/anger are becoming a thing and that's normal, we are in a shitty situation. If anyone is having trouble with mental illness and you need someone to talk to, feel free to DM me on Instagram! My name is renyxputman
You’d think so but I honestly think she’s just immune to it. She takes less pain killers than I take and her entire spine is fused and full of screws and plates. That’s crazy.
I'm ready to get on the phone and scream at them for you. She seems like an incompetent nurse with ports. I am sorry that you haven't had saline. I've been fighting for six months to get it thru to my Drs here in Oklahoma to give me script for them. I guess they would rather hear I've been in bed for weeks and faint when I'm going to the bathroom. ***""" Hamster definitely looks like a Herman to me ******
We are totally getting a hamster!
Your cape/shawl reminds me of a dream catcher. Love it
I was just about to say that!
Hi Christina! I’ve been waiting for you, eager to hear how you’re doing. Don’t worry about us, you look after yourself. We love you.
Your shawl looks like a dream catcher.

You should name the hamster Sisyphus like from the fault in our stars. Good for you for advocating for yourself with the nursing company!
Is there any way you could make me one of those Pom Pom hats? I loooove them! I would love one in all black, I could pay you for it

Maybe a good name for hamster is "gimme gimme" and that's because they always want things
I can't crochet for shit. I tried so many times, I have the beginner kit. I just can't get it.
Check out Bella Coco here on RUclips. She has awesome beginner videos. I taught myself after watching her channel.
Beth Wade will do. Thank you.
💜
Hamster should be Bowie!
Hamster should be called Harlen Glen
16:35 before she even started talking about the collar I was wondering what the collar is like
Week 69 😉😉
Name your hamster snowball!!
Hammy the hamster!
I don't know if you watch her already, but if you don't you should check out Chronically Jaquie here on RUclips!
Do you have depression and anxiety from feeling bad all the time?
I see an oral surgeon for my TMJ splint, ❤️😉

Luke Petersen I look at her like superwoman 🤗🤪
Untrained nurses trying (and repeatedly failing!) to access a port is a terrifying concept. >.
I'm ready to get on the phone and scream at them for you. She seems like an incompetent nurse with ports.

Hamster name, Hamtaro
I know you should name the hamster hamtaro, that was like my favorite anime when I was a kid,
OHMYGOSH I FORGOT ABOUT HAMTARO!! I totally vote for this name as well
HAMTARO! MY BEST FRIEND! Ha sorry I had to add that
