Carl was the genius of the group from what I can tell and the music he followed up with, he had the golden touch and should have been a household name. Shame the other two couldnt have settled their differences as they had one of the best R&B bands in the world which was up there with the best American artists. The music industry really didnt have a clue about what they had and didnt give this group the praise they deserved.

To this day Loose Ends remains a staple on R&B/Soul radio in the U.S. Legendary group. This is a great video. Salute to you. I'm glad the group can still get together and do live concerts. I definitely agree with Jane Eugene that their producer Nick Martinelli was the secret sauce in their sound. It was their magic combination. However, I am a huge fan of Steve Nichol and Carl Macintosh - the two of them are incredible songwriters / producers. The Group is one of the most unique R&B groups in terms of their sound and their visual style. The Loose Ends Sound is its own Genre!

As a self-proclaimed almanac of soul music, let me state for the record that there were two groups that consistently brought it during the decade of the eighties: Loose Ends and Atlantic Starr. If those two groups could miraculously put aside their collective differences, reunite, and tour together, that would be magical. In my opinion, those two groups carried the spirit of true soul music. For an entire decade.
