    I'm a renault van mechanic and my company maintains renault kangoos for my national post service, and believe me these vans can take a beating, the main two things to watch out for, the two things that the post drivers do manage to break is the cv boots/driveshafts can get damaged and start clicking and the drivers door pull handle can come clean off.

      Is there a threat of engine damage with slipping belts x2

    • @elianioriofarrell
      @elianioriofarrell 2 месяца назад

      @bilbobaggins4366 not common from factory no (as far as I've seen) but I've seen one where it was incorrectly fitted by a garage and the belt slipped and obviously the engine was a write off.

    Good down to earth review. FRiend of mine has an 11 plate but with windows in the back. Had to spend over £800 on new clutch and a few bits and pieces but it's good for carrying vast amounts of stuff and of course perfect for camping. As with most vehicles, look after it well and it'll look after you... and your business.

    Just bought a 65 plate Kangoo, pick it up on Tuesday. Wanted a berlingo or partner at first, but test drove the Kangoo and it was cracking. Can't wait to put it to work lol

    It doesnt really matter what you buy its all about how it has been looked after and unfortunately vans do get neglected and abused, worth taking your time for one with decent mileage and service history.

    One thing in relation to the panel thickness you mentioned, I was driving recently during the storms & the bonnet was literally warping either side of the catch as the wind hit it. No problem in normal conditions but it was scary as I wasn’t going over 55 mph . Also with the noise, I find the levels become deafening.

    The fuse box under the battery is a disaster you must check.
    If the fuse blow for the left or right side light, the time to change fuse is over 30 minutes.
    This is almost impossible on the road in darkness.
    This problem must be actual when approve the car for traffic.

    Looking to buy a small van. Trying to decide on VW, Ford, Renault or PSA. Reliability vs cost to repair basically. Air con and other amenities. Price. So thanks for this series. Can you try a Citroen or Peugeot?

    Renault's are more fun than VW in general. People just buy for the "brand" unfortunately...

    I find it hard to believe you are a VW fan. I cannot believe anyone is. The amount of times that VW is rated at or near the bottom in the reliability ratings in the UK and around the world is shocking. Not just VW but all German cars. They are total rubbish. In the USA VW was so bad they were rated as lemons and at the very bottom of the ratings for all manufacturers. I think it's just advertising and lack of research by buyers that somehow keeps VW, Mercedes and BMW in business at all.

    • @CorpsMedia

      I have to agree with the majority of what you said. But I am still a VW fan.
      I guess you could say the same about aston martin; unreliable, not that quick, parts from much cheaper vehicles.. Still love them none the less.
