My grandfather, Edward Sherrmann, had a 1949 , one ton International pickup, with a nine foot bed. This particular pickup was named a" lumber yard special truck". My grandfather farmed a 160 acre farm in Southern Illinois. I remember riding in the International with my grandfather. He was a good honest hard working farmer, he also hand built two farm homes in the area. I am very proud of him, he raised two daughters, my late Aunt Norma and my late mother Nadine nee Sherrmann Phoenix. I miss them all, have great memories. Kevin Phoenix
Nice truck ! Just saw one of those in Tennesee at a car lot that specializes in hot rods & old cars & trucks. It was very original ! Paint wasn't pretty at all. Thanks for showing us this great old truck, Jeff.
When I was a small boy growing up on a share croppers farm in rural central Arkansas, we had a 1963 I.H. pick up. I loved the left hand ignition. Ours had the "granny." When I was a teen, I drove it loaded with 50 bales of hay. Climbing up out of a steep incline was a cinch with the granny gear.
Memories, as a little boy my grandfather always had an International pickup around his farm then my dad had International pu trucks and even an R180 to haul farm stuff. Then I got out of school and bought one for myself been around Binders for a long time.
For the KB-1 thru KB-5, chrome "wings" were added on the sides of the grill, a wrap-around chrome piece on the front hood, a hood ornament and chrome lettering indicating the model designation below the International nameplate on each side of the hood. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/International_K_and_KB_series#KB_series
Cool truck colour great, how putting a big v8 454 in this truck, discbrakes, power steering and powerbrakes, and auto, and Jordan how about nitrus, would be fun when you pedal to the metal, thanks jeff and Jordan for this video have a wonderfull Day from tom your friend always 🤩
