Initially make a bigger investment into the car, what are you talking about? A c6 is probably a 1/4 of the price of a Supra.
I wasn’t trying to compare the price of the car to a Supra. Supras are way too expensive to compare.
It depends on the c6 model/year. A true widebody c6 like a z06/GS boosted with low miles can range from 50K plus depending on the year/build etc. i have seen supras getting reasonable nowadays at the 60-80K prices now.
@@Inverter5253rather have a c6 even at equal prices. Sounds better, engine is bulletproof and versatile plus I think a well done c6 looks better. Oh and it handles better

I picked up a yellow 08 z06, cammed with straight pipes. It just roars down the road and shakes side to side at idle. Yet with the cargo space, I’ve brought two picnic tables, fold up chairs, a cooler and food with space to spare. It’s only gone up in value in 5 years. No mechanical problems. Gas mileage in the city is 14 and 23 on the highway.
They are awesome cars with a timeless design

Yup, you should and I did :-) 09 Atomic Orange Z for me. I love it, and keeping it. They truly do handle very well, and are extremely comfortable for day long trips. Get heads done if you buy a LS7, otherwise great cars.

I have a mildly cammed LS3 in my '08 C6M and I get 27 mpg on the highway at 80 mph.... and if I'm around town hammering it I get 17 mpg.... I'd say that's pretty dang good for a cammed C6 !!!!
That is pretty dam good. Maybe I just have a heavy foot lol
the highest average my 5.3 (impala ss) has gotten is 15.6 mpg, from a car thats supposed to get 18 city...
the lowest was 11.5 when i first got the car and was having a little bit of fun lol. however i do get the same mpg as you on the highway, with half of my cylinders shut off. stock motor btw. maybe i made the wrong purchase

Vette is extremely aerodynamic.... AND light ! About 3250 lbs...
That's why I believe the MPG is fairly decent.
Even if it's a conversion, that's one beautiful C6, I love that blue! I have a black C6Z lowered all the way on the stock suspension. I really wanted to add the CF bits you did, but I KNOW the CF front splitter and the side skirts (to a lesser degree) wont last a week! Too bad, they look so nice!
I actually just had my first incident this weekend. Scraped up the side skirt 😞

On corvettes it’s always corsa extremes with ARH headers and X-pipes
I love this video man, the c6 is always my dream car it’s a car that I have to have in my life, no matter how long it take I will get it, but since I’m still young, just got into my 20s, I would love a blue grand sport, as long as they have ls3 and anything above 2008.
But what piece range is a fair price you think? I think my budget is probably around 35k
35k will get you a solid car for sure.
Seen 2011 grand sport that caught my eye, have a c5 thinking about getting another one. What about the engine pistons needed work at so many miles, don’t want to spend that kind of money and have to do major engine repairs. My 02 c5 no problems since I had it,bought with 60k now have 97k. Your thoughts
Know this video is a little old and there’s a low chance of you responding, after how ever long you have owned your c6, what are the pros and cons? Guessing gas and insurance is a little pricey, especially me at a younger age, (under 20), how is it for a daily driver? Im sure you take good care of the car so how is the maintenance like? Is it a good racing car? I know it’s quick and really good handling but how does it do against other people? Love to hear back from you and awesome video! Gonna go find some more of yours to watch

I’ve been looking to get out of my turbo brz, it’s just made out of glass and been nothing but problems for me, into an s2000. But I’m really starting to consider a c6.
cant go wrong with either in my opinion. Owned an S2000 and loved every minute of it now im trying to get into a LS3 C6.

My brother's 99 get 19 around town and 28 on open road. Pretty good for a 99 with automatic. Not sure what u get but think that is great for a performance car.

Ive got a cammed ls2 with full exhaust and im at 28-29 mpgs going 70 on the highway. Cant really beat that gas milage.
Oh on the highway it does great. I meant more like on the street.

Honestly this would make a great daily driver. Besides the MPGs but a very reliable car for sure.
@@boostedprojecthey I’m hooked on a beautiful 05 c6 that’s at 90,000 odo. But I’m coming up on so much bad press about that year for the vet since it was the first generation of the C6 motor. I was wondering what your opinion was an especially about the issue about how vets kill the car battery quick on their own?
Would love some feedback really want to get into this vet but I’m afraid of getting stuck having to do a lot of repairs afterwards.

You said it's an LS3 swap, so it had the LS2 before? This is a base model correct? You wide bodied it? Looks badass. I have an 08 base, LS3/Z51/6SPD/NPP/3LT. I'm trying to decide if I should sell it and invest in a C6 Z06, or just wide body it and throw a supercharger on it. Thoughts?
Yes, it was an LS2 before and had a Crate LS3 dropped in. Body is an OEM zo6 body. I honestly would keep that car and just build it. Reason I chose this one was because I knew I wanted to boost it and ls3 with boost is 👌

@@FUMan661the ls2 is a beast with boost too. The ls2 gets looked down on, but it’s not a huge downgrade from an ls3. With boost and similar mods they make similar power. The ls3 gets the nod but the ls2 is right there
Plus if you build on the LS3 platform, you get the removable top.
Seems like a lot of work to swap body. Why not just buy Z06?

I’m not the best resource as this is my first LS car but I’ll tell you why I went with the LS3. I plan to boost the car and ls3 do absolutely amazing with boost.

I got a c6 rn I’m currently in the marines and it hasn’t got in the way I mean if you deploy keep it back on base and have someone start it up and run regular maintenance if and when you return

How much is the z06 wide body swap into a stock body bc I still want an ls3 and would it be cheaper than buying a grad sport?
About $3k for the parts and to have it painted and installed. You’ll need wider tires too so add another $1500.
yeah I wanted to get a used c6 or a newer mustang but these roads around me are pretty bad. I think the corvette would get to beat up for me sadly. Im going to have to go for the mustang gt i think
Sadly it is a real issue. I’ve damaged one of my carbon side skirts cause of this.

I'm confused. This is a stock stingray with mods, but it has full z06 bodywork (widebody, airdam, etc)? Base C6 cars don't have the widebody z06 fenders

I understand the LS3 is the desired engine, but what about the LS2 Vette? Are they still even worth it?
I found 2 Vettes that I'm interested in, '07 and '12. The '07 is like $10k cheaper than the '12, both 6spd as well.
..and I'm coming from a 2 seater, '08 350z so I'm use to it. 😂
I recently purchased an 05 ls2 vette and when I purchased it I drove an 08 ls3 right before it. The 05 actually felt better to me and I really didn't notice the power difference. Just buy the one that looks best to you.

The real big difference I see is I'd spend less money to make more power with the LS3.
@bman409 it rode better and actually put me back in the seat more under heavy acceleration. That could be to do with the gearing of the transmission I'm not sure, but it actually felt faster.

I agree...It's too much power for a new/inexperience driver. you have to respect the power this car has. I got mine when I turned 48 and it's a beast. Over 30 years of driving experience and I was truly astonished what this car (2008 ZO6 - stock) can do and how fast it does it. I've had fast cars before but not like this one. Be safe and gain driving experience before getting behind the wheel of this car....it does not forgive!
