For this project you will need
Vero Board (PCB)
12 Volt Power Supply
555 Timer IC
IRF 540 Mosfet
1N4001 Diode
0.1 uF Ceramic Capacitor
100 uF Electrolatic Capacitor
10 K 1/4 watt Resistor
220 K Variable POT
Hook up wires
Some basic tools

I have a Brushless Motor Driver for Polygon Mirror taken from a Xerox Laser Printer; the board has 5 input pins: 24v, Gnd, 5v plus two signal pins; does this circuit work to increase / decrease the speed of the engine in question? Thanks
What is the operating frequency?
This is much better than the usual 555 astable circuit.

Hello, I am wondering if I can use this speed controller on a bigger motor? The motor that I am using is a 1000W 48V DC motor.
Its desined for max 12 volt 1A capacity

What is the maximum input voltage can you connect this circuit the way it is right now? and 2) what do I have to change if I want to increase the input voltage to a maximum of 60V DC? thanks for the response. my other question was if i were to increase the output voltage of the controller to say run a dc motor that would need at least a 36V, what would the changes that need to be made?
use higher rated MOSFET the same 555 can be used . out put pin of 555 directly drives MOSFET. drain of MOSFET connect to 60 v through motor coil. thats it.

The Mosfet used in this ciruit has only current carrying capacity of 1A, If you want to use foe 7A please change the mosfet accordingly

the 555 has maximum operating voltage up to 18 v . but voltage and power of motor is purely depends on MOSFET. if suitable MOSFET is chosen we can operate any type of motor

One more thing I have only LM317 as I didn't get IRF 540mosfet from the market.

This circuit is designed for 1A current but electric bike has more then 1A current, so you can't use it for electric bike.
I am not able to measure the current on pwm. Also negative wire is geting overheated
Please check the circuit diagram as per link given in video's description.
In the PWM circuit, We are varying a voltage not a current. If you wan to measure current make series connection to measure the load current.

Hello, I built the circuit, but the motor speed oscillates, what could be happening? Another question, what is the voltage of the electrolytic capacitor you used, I am using 25V 100 uF? Thank you !
+Marcos frist in the electrolatic capacitor capacitance is a important fact and voltage selection should be heighr then your application voltage.
+Marcos For osilating of your motor it may happen you have used any non working part or part may be damaged during the assembly. Also compare your circuit with diagram given in the video.
