For the better part of thirty years I've almost exclusively used Graco pumps. I've had a Titan 440 but still preferred the Graco pumps. But I've a lot of issues with the last two Graco pumps I bought so I decided to buy a Tritech T5 3 years ago. It has been nothing short superb. It has been both reliable and flawless. I rebuilt it for the first time just the other day. The Tritech tips have lasted me significantly longer than the Graco or Titan tips as well. I'm probably never going back.
Hi, this video was uploaded 5 years ago and your recommendation was the Graco 390. 5 years on, what's your thoughts still Graco or Tritech t5? I'm thinking about investing in a gun and have my mind set on the T5 + are you still using the Stephill generator? Keep up the work, thanks!
Hi . I like your videos . I'm planning to buy spray machine for residential painting which is in most cases ceilings and woodwork . I like to buy Graco 390 but can't find 230v version instead of that I'm thinking to buy Tritech t4 . It's that good idea or better to buy transformer and g 390?
Use a small palm full of cheap laundry powder mix it well in a bucket of warm water, this will speed up or strip out paint faster, then store evertime used with pump Saver, most rebuilds need a new piston the worn piston / hour glassing was why your seals didn't last.and if you use pumpsaver well you won't need to rebuild it as often as corrosion won't take place. It suprises me most painters don't know how to clean an maintain there sprayers yet they use them most days to save time on the job , I've hire diy spray pumps for 15 years ,I'm a authorised Tritech sales agent in au , we use the Tritech sprayers in hire..
I cleaned my rig down every time I used it then used pump armour after every clean down.i contacted tritech and they compensated me very well because they can see in my videos how well I cleaned my spray rig down
Yes i watched your clean up didnt see you use laundry powder or warm water ,i cant work out why your pump armour doesnt mix with water as it must work out costly, or you could use car radiator rust inhubuter coolant anti freeze , i did like the filter out to flush out build up paint most wouldnt do this , happy spraying.
No it lasted 3 months and then I had to change the seals and the piston. I've got to admit tritech contacted and they gave me a tritech t5 due to the bad experience I had with the t4 and because of this review I've done on the t4, I've had the t5 about a year and a half now and I've had no issues with it at all . So I'm guessing I just had a bad one
Mark Osborn I don't spray the gloss work, I don't know if it would justify the cost of the tape , paper and the time it would take to mask up. I might give the frames and the staircase a go and see how much time and cost effective it would be , if I do I'll definitely will Make a video. Regarding colours I've got to admit for the last 4 years all ive done are white walls . As soon as I get coloured walls that video will get done
How much you putting through the T4 to do a set of packings in 2months!!!!! That's some paint!!!! I got an airlessco LP only had 3 packing replacements in 11 years!! And I spray newbuild and industrial probably around 200lt a week , packings on an airlessco are adjustable triple life, repack cost around 100, piston about 180
Not a lot. I would say roughly 150 - 200 litres a week , my thinking is the piston had a score on it and the first time they changed the seals but not the piston but the second time they changed the seals and the piston. Worst thing about it I was covered with the warranty with the first set of seals and the piston if they changed it but the second time I had to pay . What is your thoughts on that one
@@camdecorations9779 that'd blow my mind, surely they could see it was an issue with guarantee work they'd carried out you'd seriously be putting some paint through an airless to do packings in two months!!!!!! Do like the look of the tritech's though look bomb proof
@@simonhuss9619 my personal thinking is they saw it the first time and they let it go knowing the piston would score the seal a second time , then they could charge me for a new piston and seal. Then again I could be thinking the worst of people. I thought the t4 was great before all these problems and even now it doesn't sound right but that little graco is as tough as nails. I prefer that over the t4
@@camdecorations9779 why would that take the lead now mate? I am so torn between the graco 495 and the sf23 plus. Both the same price point. Any issues with the sf23 since you’ve had it mate?
No no issues whatsoever , if your using it for mistcoating all the time I would use the 495 it has the capacity for larger spray tips. If your using for more than mistcoating sf23 plus, you can service it yourself, the hopper to buy is cheaper than any other brand hopper, the hopper is direct feed into the spray machine, washes out really quick in cold water, because its a diaphragm and not piston you don't get that slight drop in pressure that you do get with piston spray rigs and because of that they are excellent machines to turn into aaa sprayers. I hardly use my t5 now , only for mistcoating and using in flats because its easier to carry up a flight of stairs
Hi Colin , I've got tritech I haven't sprayed about 4 months last time used it gave it a good clean, its not priming at all, I thought it might be paint to thick ,so primed with clean water still not priming any idea mate ?
Yeah the chances are the ball is stuck. Did you leave the motor in pump armour the last time you used it or did you just flush the sprayer through with water.
@@camdecorations9779 I normally do wash out with pump armour ,but last time I was in a hurry to leave site it was getting late ,so just cleaned with water, I live in a flat so hard to clean out example A garden or shed . would that cause a big issue ?
@@nialloconnor5321 if your not going to use your sprayer for more than a couple of weeks you need to leave it in pump armour otherwise the ball ceases up. What you need to do is unscrew the siphoning hose from the the spray . Get a wrench and undo the big nut to release the area that the siphoning hose connects to . Once you've done that look inside you will see a ball. Run some water over the area just to clean it up. Once you've done get a small flat head screwdriver. The idea is that you want to make the ball move inside the housing. Make sure not to scratch the ball with the screwdriver. Any time the sprayer won't prime 9 x out of 10 it's to do with the ball not moving like a bit of dirt or a bit of dry paint. If you want I could make a vid showing how to do this.
hey mate - my tritech makes a chattering noise when flashing with water. have you noticed this with your machine? is it a sign that something is about to pop?
Possibly, since I've had my seals and piston changed it sounds like it's leaking air when I run water through . I'm just waiting for something to fail on it. A rule if thumb is that if your machine sounds different from when you first had it then there's likely a problem with it.
Ah you mean the 395 s, yes it's worth getting that rather than the 390 because you can easily run . 0.21 tip. If you one of those guys who hold the trigger without releasing when your spraying then I would go for the larger model the 495 more powerful motor so you can continually hold the trigger but if your a sprayer who releases at the end of each stroke then the 395 s is perfect
