Mandzukic is such a team player, very versatile with an excellent technical ability. who could've thought a big-slow log like him could be effective playing as a winger??!
This is the same kind of thing Norway did last time we were good, in the 90's under Egil Olsen. We put our big, strong, target man (Jostein Flo, played Premier League for Sheffield United and Lierse) out wide and lobbed long passes at him from the left back, dubbed the "Flo pass", which he would head towards midfielders or the striker. Norway garnered much criticism for playing "ugly" football, but has been by far the best a Norwegian national team has ever played. The crowning achievement being beating runner up Brazil in the group stages in the 98 world cup and having an all time high FIFA ranking of 2 in 92 and 95.
As a Juventus fan, I can say this was very well presented and very accurate, I wanted to point out that we also use a 4-3-3 or 4-3-2-1 system for the absence of Paulo Dybala and inclusion of Blaise Matuidi (who has been outstanding for Juve).
It's worth noting that half-way through the season Allegri dropped Dybala from the starting line-up due to quite a few sub-par performances and has opted for a 4-3-3 formation with Matuidi on the left side of the midfield ever since. Cuadrado also dropped in ranks (even before his injury) and as a result Douglas Costa has seen more playing time lately.
As a Juve supporter I really hope Dybala and Cuadrado come back to form in a couple of weeks otherwise I think we will not win anything this year seeing how we are playing. it might be the start of a downward spyral

I can't wait for the Tifo Tactics Podcast to finally drop! Tactical discussions from Tifo are so compelling and interesting that they are the highlight of my weekly podcast lineup when one comes around.
Some good points but a bit outdated. We've been playing 4-3-3 almost every match since late november. Also matuidi was preffered over khedira when we played the 4-2-3-1. And benatia is the main Ball playing defender, not chiellini. Got it spot on about mandzukic though
just adding something. One of the reason Mandzukic are so succes in his role as a winger ia his defensive ability. When Pogba transfered last season it left a big gaping hole in Juve's left side defense, is one of the reason of Juve's slump in the first half of last season. then Allegri play Mandzukic as a left-winger with his tenacity and phisychallity he solve that problem. maybe you guys should made video about this very versatile player.
Great video as usual, their passive defending is the reason why they struggle to win back the ball when they face teams with world class players this happend when they faced Real Madrid and Barcelona..
Highest respects for Mandzukic and Cuadrado (but mostly to Allegri), who weren't very consistant before they came to Juve and play now a big part of juves line up, easily playing on the same level like Higuain and Dybala
I'm your fan that love to watch all of your tactics expained, and I want you to Explained Man United Tactics 2017/18 that have Alexis Sanchez in the squad Thank you
2 ok seasons and they kick such a worldclass manager out, i think we wouldve already won the cl if allegri stayed. we got sarri instead who is not even close as good as allegri. as a juve fan im sad that they kicked him out.
After rumoured said hes gonna take Inter job, i quickly come here to study his style of football. In conclusion, he can be a coach that make Inter champion again next season, after seeing these juve side are not much different with Inter squad today. Forza Inter always.
Theoretically speaking, true, but this formation fails miserably this season possibly because of current squad’s physical level. The newly-deployed 4-3-3 gives Juve more strength as Matuidi provides speed and physicality to overcome the ever overrun Khedira and Pjanic, helping Mandzukic and Dybala, who recently starts to play as an inside forward at the right flank, to create chances. I wish I could see your more detailed analysis on this in the future.
Playing Mandzukic at the wing is brilliant. The future of football will be strong powerful traditional wingers, to counter the quick small fullbacks being developed today.
I've always been impressed by the play of Douglas Costa and very surprised that Bayern let him go. Also, Lichtschteiner...hope I spelled it right =D Juve indeed have plenty of depth to challenge for all titles this season, but I doubt it will happen. Bayern, Madrid, Barca, and City are favorites for UCL.
He didn't play DYbala as number 10 for a long time ! Now he puts 3 men in the midfield Pjanic' Matuidi Khedira and Benatia became a regular starter alongside Chiellini ;)
Very great video i had understand a lot about fluid formations great work but pls need a video about manchster united tactic and why did jose buy sanchez amd how to get binfit from martial
yeah just like football hub wrote, he is kinda like defensive sttiker. you see Juve struggled alot in the first half of last season because they lose Paul Pogba defensive ability on the left, when Mandzukic move to the left side that problem ended.
Napoli is on form and currently they have the best midfield (Hamsík,Jorginho,Allan) and the best attacking 3 (Insigne, Mertens, Callejón). Eventhough that Juventus team is better, i can't imagine them taking back the pole position.
Juventus no longer play a 4-2-3-1 as Dybala has dropped out of form and subsequently become injured. Juventus now play a 4-3-3 with Blaise Matuidi playing alongside Sami Khedira and MIralem Pjanic in the midfield, with Pjanic being the pivot.
Finally!!!! instead of all these lame ass overated PL teams, you should broaden your horizon and make video's about teams from different leagues Forza Juve!
In my opinion Allegri should opt for 4-3-1-2 for champions league games. Like Juve did to defeat Real Madrid and reach the finals in 2003. They were unstoppable. Unluckily they lost Nedved and lost the final against Milan on penalties. He can use dybala behind Mandzukic and Higuain. Leaving Higuain more ahead than Mario since he's a bit slower and Mario a bit wider. I can see Dybala play like Nedved in the future.
Not trying to fully judge him by the patterns, but every world class other top 5 league managers are having/had successful tenures at Premier League clubs. Doubt that Allegri would be an exception if he comes in to manage let's say Chelsea since it's a defensive team traditionally.
For the last reply, I meant by every world class other top 5 league managers that I CAN REMEMBER, not ever because there are always a few exceptions in everything.
I say Juventus will not win Serie A this season. My hearts say Napoli will win but my brain say Juventus. Napoli is playing brilliant football right now and I want them to continue to play like that. If Napoli do win the Serie A it would be achievement that will be remembered in the future.
Keith Gill Napoli always play more beautiful football for the last 4 years. the key always in december, february and march where the schedule is packed. Juventus depth squad always do better. Juventus already tighten the gap from 4th to 2nd with only 1 point difference in december.

Will Juventus overhaul Napoli this season and win a 7th consecutive Scudetto?
Tifo Football I hope not Sarri and Napoli deserve it this year

Very accurated! You also may have notice that Allegri has recently change his formation into a 433, with MP beetween SK and BM.
As a Juventus fan, I can say this was very well presented and very accurate, I wanted to point out that we also use a 4-3-3 or 4-3-2-1 system for the absence of Paulo Dybala and inclusion of Blaise Matuidi (who has been outstanding for Juve).
Thanks for the heads up John, and thanks for the support!
I'd love a video on the 4-3-3 as well
matuidi hasn't been outstanding he has been avarege at best and that's because khedira makes him look half decent
Can I ask is allegri more defensive than jose and would he fit in at Manchester United.
It's worth noting that half-way through the season Allegri dropped Dybala from the starting line-up due to quite a few sub-par performances and has opted for a 4-3-3 formation with Matuidi on the left side of the midfield ever since. very good analysis, Juve need serious reinforcement in CF, HIGUAIN and Mandzukic cannot play at every game.
just adding something. One of the reason Mandzukic are so succes in his role as a winger ia his defensive ability.
