I contend that this is one of the best musical movie scores of all time. Hard to say for sure which one is the best, but this one certainly deserves to be listed in the elite category.
The movie?...No. But it had 4 nominations in Best sound, best film editing, Best Effects, Sound Effects Editing, and Best Effects, Visual Effects. No wins, exept for some japanese academy as Best Foreign Language Film, but that was 2 years later in 1990. And, that`s about it. It`s a one of a kind new kind of action/hightech/thriller, and yes...it`s a shame.
@@jerradguillory7909 I love Speed, but it´s not Die Hard. In fact, it´s one of the many films which sticked to the Die Hard formula. Therefore, it was heavily inspired by DH.
GREATEST....ACTION....FILM....EVER and phenomenal Michael Kamen (R.I.P.) scoring, this knows how to really pump up an audience and have them glued to their seats!
It’s a shame that a movie like Die Hard doesn’t have an iconic/consistent theme song (like how Rambo has his theme, or Michael Myers has the Halloween theme)
I worked as an extra and have great memories of all those cold nights on set and on location. Fun team to work with, we had hostage/terrorist parties! 😅
@@sTIGERTIGER Looking back, it really was amazing...and Bruce Willis is a total gentleman, always kind and caring on the set. We joked about his fake bloody feet 'til dawn 🤣

It absolutely is.
When I moved to LA, Nakatomi Plaza was the first thing I went to visit. Got goosebumps.

Still the greatest action film ever made!!
Exactly, 2019 and still THE masterpiece of the genre.
2nd best t2 #1
@@jerradguillory7909 It's a close match between T2 and Die Hard but I'll still give Die Hard the win.

If you think about it that would come across as really cheesy in this movie.
Ummmm ode yo joy and this is essentially the main theme of each die hard movie
It has Ode to Joy.
It has the main title jingle that is played multiple times throughout the movie
@@bebopthefox2346 True, but then again, that's more of a "jingle" then like a fully fledge theme. IDK how to describe it, really

Not really, that’s just the design of the Nakatomi. I’m assuming you’re referring to the WTC and 9/11.
