Predator is as close to a flawless movie as you can get. The atmosphere, the claustrophobic feeling, the cast, the creature design and not letting it be seen, and this damn score are just amazing.
I really agree with this decade old comment. I listen to the Predator soundtrack all the time all the way through most times. It’s menacing Atmospheric militaristic. Love it❤️
I know every word in this film. Every sound. Every bit of the score. I'm a snobby movie buff. I watch all kinds of weird shit from directors who's names I can barely pronounce. I've seen everything from citizen Kane to plan 9 from outer space. This. This is the best movie ever made
Me too. I studied, heard, watched, observed, saw, felt, experienced, analysed, deconstructed, dissected, filtered, revised, memorized every scene, sound, noise, score, shot of this timeless gem of a cinema. PERIOD.
Marvel Stop Motion Studios lol you must be joking if you think endgame comes close to the godtier soundtrack of predator can’t beat a classic the tension was so thick you’d need a chainsaw
Prophet Yang this is amazing but endgame hits u in a emotional level with fantastic music and soundtrack 11 years in the making. Endgame is a force to be reckon with
Alan Silvestri is a musical genius. How in the hell do you put together something so classic??? It's still used to this day. I can see certain scenes at certain points in the song.
The score to this film is cinematic perfection! It’s up there as one of my favourites of all-time. And I agree, at certain moments in the music, you can visualize specific scenes from the film. In this piece at around 3:20…I can see the shot of the Predator Caressing Billy’s skull…proud of his kill and trophy. That moment always freaked me out so much as a kid. Creepy and effective!
I remember to this very day the first time I saw this scene at the cinema... everybody was getting pumped up .. I could hear people telling their friends .. that's it !! He's going for it... the fight is on... epic as fuck
Without men, ammo or guns, He used the limited tools he had and crafted explosives and traps, using the wild to his advantage. Once when he was finished with his preparations, He held the burning torch in his hand, and Roared to the entire Jungle that Dutch was ready to annihilate anything that would stand in his way.
Etor Christie To defeat an ungodly, technologically advanced predator, he returned to nature, to man's roots, to the primal instinct, in order to survive. ROOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOAR! What a film. "This stuff will make you a Godamn sexual tyrannosaurus! Just like me."
At the end of this one, I seriously went..."AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUGGGGGGGGGGGHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!" with a lighter.
I was listening to this track on my mp3 player while setting up security cameras around the heavily wooded area of my house, installing the cameras high in the trees, hiding the wires...loved it!
Sublimely primal. Perfectly evokes the about-face of Dutch from flight to fight, foreshadowing the final stand and desperate showdown we are about to witness. 🔥🔥🔥
@Dust Devil Rage yeah its called honorable combat :D and the predator respects worthy warriors, look at danny glover when he killed that predator in hand to hand combat in predator 2, he gained the respect of the predator clan to which the one he killed belonged
None of the protagonists in any of the Predator - or AvP spinoffs - will ever/can ever match the on-screen presence of Arnold Schwarzenegger against the Predator.
This sound recalls the beginnings, where man survived as he prepared for combat. It is the essence of sovereignty against the natural weather that tries to subjugate it.
Andyserkis sir these uploads of yours, have the best unifying comments i have ever read on you tube, nothing bad, nothing nasty just good people saying good things, about a soundtrack and a movie we all love. Thanks again.
Is it weird that I couldn't stop laughing at that scene? While Arnold was yelling at the Predator to come kill him, the latter had such a peculiar look on his face, it looked to me like he was thinking "This motherfucker must think I'm stupid or something.."
In the original concept, this scene made so much more sense. Dutch's character was originally of Native American decent. More closely to the Billy character. And by this stage of the film he is the only soldier left, so when technology fails to kill the demon, he remembers his ancestral teachings and fights in the old ways of spears, arrows and knives. He fights like a warrior. Not that this scene isn't great as is, but imagine had the film stayed closer to the original idea.
yeah no, sorry to disappoint you race-baiter, but the reason this was likely changed was because Schwarzenegger was a big name, and since he didn't look anything at all like a native american, they had to change it so that they could still keep him as the lead roll in a way that didn't have Arnold try to play a native american, which would be even moreso the retarded option.
originally it was carl weathers that was going to be the lead.. so imagine a black dude doing native american stuff .. those cultural appropriate cunts would have exploded.
Right here when he finished to prepare all his plan, all the traps, so it comes the final moment that Ducht launch to predator the diabolic challenge about this duel even when their of one haven't breath any more. This is a spectacular sequence 🎥🎥🎥🎥🎥🎥🎥🎥🎥🎥🎞️🎞️🎞️🎞️🎞️🎞️🎞️🎞️🎞️🎬🎬🎬🎬🎬🎬🎬🎬🎬🎬🎬🎬👍👍
Dutch is making traps and weapons while the predator is ripping out Billy's spine and skull to make a trophy out of it by cleaning, polishing and adding it to the rest of them including blain,Mac , Dillion and poncho.
the incredible thing about this scene is that no tecnological weapon was of use to kill such a powerful and more advanced creature as it was the predator, so Dutch had to came back to primitive instincts, and create traps and craft set-ups to beat it, as early men used to do to hunt predators
Many thanks to you, andyserkis for these uploads. I have been listening to them whilst writing my SciFi/Fantasy action novel and the music certainly helps with the inspiration. Thanks again, mate!

Perfect scene: no dialogue, one character, one creature we have not yet seen, amazing music. Oh the tension!
Definitely, from start to finish the music in predator was awesome and even errie and startling too,,,
Predator is as close to a flawless movie as you can get. The atmosphere, the claustrophobic feeling, the cast, the creature design and not letting it be seen, and this damn score are just amazing.
We've seen the creature before this scene...when the predator comes out of the water and Arnold's covered in mud.
Oof. You hit the nail head, sir
Anytime anyone asks “what is a good film?” Just show them this scene and tell them to follow the rest
honestly one of the best soundtracks of all time, so underrated.
Criminally underrated

I cant stop watching it since the first time i saw it on tv in 1990. i was 5 yers old.

It takes a certain kind of badass to go up against a Predator with no guns.

@Dust Devil Rage yeah its called honorable combat :D and the predator respects worthy warriors, look at danny glover when he killed that predator in hand to hand combat in predator 2, he gained the respect of the predator clan to which the one he killed belonged
warbossgrotsmasha23 Danny glovers victory was more to do with luck than anything, Arnold turned the tables on the hunter
He had no choice remained
Takes balls to go up against a Predator even with guns.
This score by Silvestri along with Kamen's score for the original Die Hard are the stuff of legend...
Kamen did a great job with Die Hard 2 as well, its a big favourite movie of mine

Alan Silvestri: ultra brilliant genius
One of the best score sequences in cinematic history. The music fits the scene to perfection.
What would this movie be without the “PREPARATION MUSIC”??? This is awesome!
When you have a seasoned composer doing a musical score and they bring their A-game, it elevates a good film to a CLASSIC film.
