Going back to bass guitar after 20 years. Been working three nights in a row on the baseline from the 9 minute mark, finally getting there. Tricky to get it just right between the slaps, hammers, mutes, and that pop! I appreciate your videos.
Indeed, your lessons and exercises are extremely helpful!!! Especially for those who seriously want to learn the bass and not dive into the first 'coolest-bass-songs-on-youtube' videos right after they got their hands on their first bass (ahum, I did). These videos deserve much more attention. Thanks a lot!
These really are the best bass lessons I've seen. It is so boring for me how he repeats things since I am a guitar player and already know about a lot of this stuff, but honestly he is doing everything he should in repeating stuff and being a great teacher. He makes sure to take his time on a riff so that everybody gets it, including slow to learn beginners.
his lessons always leave you up and running. not just rote drills, but riffs and grooves in which to apply them to make it fun, and to give you a sense of success. KEvron
I'd be really thankful for advice, how I should practice these riffs. Should I play every riff shown in video faster and faster? Or I should focus only on final variations of these riffs? How do you think?
thanks a lot for the tips. I have been playing bass for a long time, and I started because I wanted to be Les Claypool....but I never quite figured it out until now. Or at least, I can sort of get there now. I like the sound and look of your Fender Jazz bass, what particular series bass is that?
Wonder! You can not imagine how these lessons are helping me. Thank you and congratulations on published work. A hug...
