Buying a person a car is Incredible!!! Buying a person a House is Love !!! It gives stability, to that person as far as Financial Mental, Sense of Wellbeing, etc. Elvis Presley was Super Human !!!

Houses, cars, motorcycle’s, paying medical bills, charities, money, jewellery and so on - it’s no surprise that Elvis didn’t have much money in the pot when he passed. He gave it all away and not squandered on himself and he worked hard for it! That’s one of the many reasons we love him - a Great Humanitarian & philanthropist! Thanks Sir Billy 😇 & Sam! Great stories and insight.

Yes I wish they would have married, but she I read where she left, because he almost shot her by accident so she left!!! She was with him both times he overdosed and held his hand when he had to be put into a medical coma to save him. If he had been able to kick the drugs that the war got him hooked on things would have turned out differently. You could tell how much she really loved him, but his one true love I believe was Ann and it haunted him after he lost her. So sad!!!!

I can relate to Elvis giving. I came up very poor in Mississippi myself. I’m a giver. No where near the giver Elvis was. But I’ve bought several cars for others, iPods for my friends, a battery or whatever for a stranger, things like that. Receiving for me is 100% about the thought. Giving brings me far more pleasure. What can be more pleasurable than sharing with someone you want to share with?
I’ve always thought the biggest MISS with Elvis legacy is his generosity, I understand Elvis is still donating to charities and that is a wonderful and right thing to do. But they should give a car away here and there, even a house. I think he would have felt this to be the greatest honor, probably second to impersonators.
Thanks Mr Thompson for having great conversation with Billy. Best wishes to you and yours.

I knew they had a time limit to get him out fast. That he had glycoma & blinded by the stage lights & flash bulbs. So he needed light & Joe to see to get down steps. Yet those hand movements & moving off stage sideways always had me wondering. Amazing to know now!

With a screen play and a good editor you could put together a movie for Main stream media. A grass roots narrative that lets his fans get up close & personal. Has there ever been a more generous man than Elvis Presley ? Crowd Fund the production costs. The impact of Elvis is such that he has fans not yet even born.

Great interview, and thanks Sam Thompson for agreeing to the interview. Here's the poem as I found it (or a couple of versions of it, lol).
I don't know which version Elvis might have told Mr. Thompson, but here's what I found, take care brother and YHVH bless.
'so, more than 10 years later.... I have tracked down the original version of this poem....
    '
    "The Robin"
Older than dirt poem, but my #2 favorite of all time.
    "The Robin"
    I woke early one morning,
the earth lay cool and still
    when suddenly a tiny bird
    perched on my window sill.
He sang a song so lovely
    so carefree and so gay,
    that slowly all my troubles
    began to slip away.
He sang of far off places
    of laughter and of fun,
    It seemed his very trilling,
    brought up the morning sun.
    I stirred beneath the covers
    crept slowly out of bed,
    and swiftly shut the window
    and crushed his f***ing head.
    And number two....
    DESTINY OF A BLACKBIRD
    It was a beautiful day
    The sun had shone
Not a dark cloud in the sky
    I awakened with a smile
I felt like I was high
    I rose from my bed
    And glanced around
It was the start of a fantastic day
The feeling went through me like a lightning bolt
How I love the month of May
    I put on my socks
    Slipped on my robe
    Then glanced to my right
Where I noticed a beautiful blackbird
With wings as dark as the night
He was sitting on my windowsill
    Curiously looking in
So I calmly motioned back to him
With wide eyes and a grin.
I slowly pet the little fellow
Then got up off my bed.
And quickly pulled the window down
    And smashed his f***ing head.

This one is a keeper! I can see why Elvis enjoyed Sam's company, two southern gents great at tellin stories and stretchers :-)

Looks like a pretty decent house and car there. Elvis was generous to a fault. Buying a house and a top car are two of life's most expensive outlays and he bought them for numerous people including as Sam tells it for himself, Linda, their parents. Jerry, Alan,Lamar, Joe E, Red and Sonny West, the cooks, Gary Pepper etc. to name a few.

Another great interview Spa Guy.. Nice to see that Elvis was taken well care of by Sam.. It's sad that Elvis could not really go out as a normal person.. It is unfortunate that society puts pressure on celebrities to be something they are not... almost like gods when they are just really human beings, some with a great talent and good heart and very giving like in Elvis Presley's case. Elvis was one of a kind and loved by so many, no doubt about that...

Great video, wondering if anyone still ownes any of the homes Elvis bought for them

The only one I know of that still owns and lives in the house is Jerry Shilling. His housekeeper lived in her home until she passed away. I imagine most sold them as they moved out of state and on with their life.

Amazing interview. I have heard the guitar story before. Elvis gave him his Martin guitar that he used the last year he lived, and Sam sold it to fund law school.

Okay so that is how Elvis paid for Sam's law degree. I missed that part of the interview. Thanks for posting this info.

@@lucyluluforever2570 No problem. I think he sold the guitar for $5000. It`s a very special guitar since it was the last guitar Elvis used on stage.

@@yellyman5483 On part 2 w/ Sam, he tells he sold it for $8,000. to the National Inquirer, I think that was the paper; they had a contest to win the guitar and would put your name in if you bought a years subscription of their paper. This lady then sold it to a man in Cincinnati, OH for BIG bucks. Sam's interview was very interesting and heart felt, especially the 2nd part. He is well spoken, just like his sister, Linda. She took good care of Elvis, but I guess tired of his self destruction. I bet it was sad to see his decline in health from the when he was on the top of the world.

    • @yellyman5483
      @yellyman5483 5 лет назад

@@lucyluluforever2570 Ok, so he sold it for $8000? Well, i got that one wrong. It`s worth a hell of a lot more now. I think it`s one of the most expensive guitars in the world. I agree with you on Sam and Lind.. Very nice people, and Elvis were lucky to have them in their lives. As for Elvis`s decline, i blame the manager. He worked Elvis to death in Vegas. To shows a night, 7 days a week for a month is insane. I think it destroyed him in the end...

Yellyman That $8,000 in 1980 is the same as over $24,000 today.
