Who comment on his facial expressions? The dude has absolutely amazing talent that millions would die for! You think those facial expressions are bad, then I should post a video of me drumming. Lol good job bud
This is why i got into music in the first place, to play with the feeling that you're tapping into. You can tell right from Johnny B. Goode you're in the zone. You're a phenomenal musician, Keep the inspiration going!
Ellen Doll Thanks for that great observation. Everyone has different ways of expressing himself/herself on whatever instrument he or she is playing. I know I went a little overboard on the "faces" in this video, but that's just me. I think it's fine to just sit there and not show any expression, or show a little, or show a lot. Everyone is different.
this was astonishing. Riffs were solid, few slips here and there, but for 200 ? No one's going to get that many spot on. This was great, and you really should be more publicly known. and your faces just prove that you feel the music, and there's nothing wrong with that ! Unfortunately, there are people who lack that emotion and discern them as 'wierd' and 'unnecessary' but i think they just add to the enjoyment of the video. Amazing job man, never stop.
being a guitar player myself, it is mentally challenging playing so many riffs all in one take, but the way he has handled this challenge is truly amazing.
All your friends sit outside on a summer day while you play your guitar and for every bug that flies in your mouth everyone must take a shot, best drinking game ever!
At least he's enjoying himself. It's impressive enough he knows that many riffs by heart, and playing them for 73 minutes straight is even more impressive.
The worst words come from people who surely don't play instruments! ! And they talk about your face, but it's your problem the way you feel what you are doing. I like the video!!!!!!!!
Allen Betts True, you're correct, I played both those twice, but I left it as 200 Greatest Rock Riffs because if you notice that many of my riffs that I played actually contained two or three different riffs for the same song - like if you listen to Back In Black (I played three riffs for that one song and only counted it as one riff), and Queen: Bohemian Rhapsody (I played like four different riffs from that song, but I only counted it as one riff when I actually played like four riffs from it.) I did that for many of the songs here that I played two or more riffs from the same song, but counted each song as only one riff.
More than one hour of pure gold, I know it's long but I really appreciated it and you covered several genres too, from Aqualung to Talking About Love, from Bowie to ZZ Top... and The Cult! I stand for Rush though, my number one favorite ever and wasn't disappointed, real cool man, real cool!
@@GC8WRX_EJ207 I was 4 years ago, I don't know I'll have to get back to you on if that's still the case. A lot can change over the years. But some important questions are better asked late than never. Before I answer, let's revisit the past. I think we should take a trip down memory lane and ask me if 4 years ago I was for real a little more is what we need to do first tho. Sound good?
@@quantumrift11 Yeah sorry 'bout that. I was going to ask you 3 years ago but my alarm didn't go off till just now and I overslept by three years. That's sunsung phones for you I guess!
really an amazing feat to be honest, to memorize even just the main hooks of these 200 songs. very impressive and entertaining. PS- it also goes without saying the effort you put in to this by labeling every song with time links for easy access.
Thanks for noticing. Yes, the effort to type every song title with the time links took me several hours more than it took me to videotape this video! This video = 1hr. 13 min., and typing all of the band names/song names and time links = 3hr. approx.! :(
Thanks for pointing that out you're very observant yes I did make a mistake play that same riff twice, the video can still be called 200 greatest rock riffs because for many of the songs I played two or three different riffs from many songs not just one riff so in the end it still adds up to over 200 riffs.
+Guitar Lessons BobbyCrispy Badfinger is awesome, and yes, I should have, but I learned my first Badfinger song after I did this video, so none in this video.
great covers dude. Missing a couple of legends like Europe's "Final Countdown", Survivor's "Eye of The Tiger", and Iron Maiden's "Fear of The Dark". Would've been awesome if you had them covered haha. But overall those are some rock n rolls over there.
Very observant! Yes, for some of these riffs, my facial tell looked painful. I was actually just uncomfortable videotaping myself back then. I was trying to get out of my shell.
Great, we can post comments again. Dude I think you are awesome! I can never get through the whole list without being reminded of how much I miss a certain song and then just have to stop you and listen to it. Thanks for putting this together.
Awesome dude! Hope you had a beer or two after this just to relax. Liked that you put Red Barchetta in there ... underrated riff for sure. Nice LP goldtop too.
excuse but your faces while you where playing your AWWWEESOME gibson les paul gold edition were so funny!!! I'm sorry but yo made me laught a lot and i appreciate yourself because you are a fantastic guitarrist and you put passion at the music!! Relax and keep rock n rolling my friend!!!
When you can play 10% of the riffs he played, then maybe you can question the facial expressions. This guy is good he takes songs that were played in drop D tuning and makes them work in standard tuning. Great Job and Great video my friend!!!
Cuts off before the remaining 10, but I will say, anyone who has picked up a guitar for more than 20 minutes will respect the skills to last that long continuously and memory to master the riffs. Also, the "faces" is actually extremely-common when someone is putting their whole into something so regardless of what your alibi was, true legit performance man.
***** thanks Iron... cool name. I will as soon as I find a band to be in. I'm looking for a band in the Sacramento, CA area. Anyone need a guitarist???
Aside from a few hiccups here and there, this is as close to flawless and you can get for what you're trying to achieve here. My hat's off to you, brother!! With very little or no space between tunes to 'get your head on straight", as I call it, it is amazing that you were able to remain in the zone as well as you did. That's tough. Again, great job and keep up the good work!! I'll check out the 300 song vid, next. \m/ \m/
accurate, but several of these 186 riffs that made it to the camera before the camera's drive ran out of room were actually two riffs from the same song. There's 186 different songs recorded, and about ~ 30 to 50 of them I played two or three riffs from each of those songs, so that's why I left it as 200 Riffs, when I actually played well over 200 riffs from 186 different songs. I did a newer video "200 riffs take 2" and got 200 from 200 songs, then did it again and played 219 (other videos on my youtube channel). My next one will be over 300.
I really like how these are longer than the others as well. I was watching one but it was 100 in twelve minutes. That isn't the rift, that is only a few cords each. Thanks for playing the whole piece. I really loved this. Keep up the awesome videos.
That was so entertaining that i logged into my account to like and comment at 3 a.m. i love most of the jams you played. Keep rockin, that was awesome as were the facial expressions!
Good job on memorizing all of those riffs... But you were kind of sloppy. I'm a guitarist myself and I really don't dig that sloppiness. It's convincing for non-musicians, but your technique is poor. .. But I still congratulate you for memorizing all those riffs.
***** It's true that you should seek perfection in all you do, but in his case for memorizing 200 riffs and performing them expertly to where I can tell what each and every one was with my annotations turned off.... It's not really a big deal he gets a little sloppy.

his mouth is more tired than his fingers
200 riffs, 10.000 different faces. All in an hour an 13 minutes!!!
Open about eight tabs of this video, and click eight random pants of this video and press play. Its almost like being inside of Guitar Center.

you're*
The fact that he even knows TWO HUNDRED riffs is insane! This man is a legend!
love his face when playing!
Lol you played When I come around by Green day twice :D
You're Jim Carey mixed with Bill Nye the science guy.
Kick ass video
Perfect!
I was referring to physical appearance.
You mean 200 songs I am going to add on my playlist :D
Greatest 198 rock guitar riffs. Played Suzie Q and When I Come Around twice.

Dude! Most people wouldn't even be able to give you a list of 200 songs, let alone play them from the top of their head. Awesome job.
Those facials though....haha
LOL, love your guitar face!!! Great Video, Great Job!!!!!!!!!!
i watch this video every time I get home from school, you are the best guitarist ever !!!!!!!
Cool stuff....was hoping to hear a Badfinger riff in there, or did I miss it?

Stevanus G. thanks, and after I did this, I covered Europe's "Final Countdown" - entire song. It's in this channel.
Thanks. You are clearly a talented player to be able to put this together. This is equivalent to a guitarist running a marathon, in a good time.
You look like you're suffering in pain..
Very observant! Yes, for some of these riffs, my facial tell looked painful. I was actually just uncomfortable videotaping myself back then. I was trying to get out of my shell.
I can't help but think that this guy was trying to pass kidney stones while recording this.
Lmao me too

WTF with your facial expresions?
His facial expressions are to keep him from getting bored while he is playing it.
That's how I like to think about it.
zero defector i think he is being too exaggerated
its called bein a tosser
Have you NEVER watched guitarists before? They ALL do that? Yeesh.... They're rockin' out. Deal.
Orgasm, that´s it
Amazing memory! and skill!
Awesome dude! Hope you had a beer or two after this just to relax. Liked that you put Red Barchetta in there ... underrated riff for sure. Nice LP goldtop too.

I didn't know that Jim Carrey had an electric guitar.
you should have seen me with longer hair, looked more like Jim Carrey then.
This is great!
Phenomenal! Good track selection and transition. Kudos for memorizing the riffs and the effort to put them all together! Great stuff...
He looks like he's trying to push out a really painful shit
Lmao his face tho
i do the same thing i make faces you can't help it aye i've tried
You just cant do a head move or face at any bends or strums. But at a bass its hard to even keep you face and head together.
***** Ele disse isso..
Almost sure that he is Jim Carrey's brother
every single riff sounded 100% authentic to the original, no simplified baselines this is amazing
Omg his face, i'm done 😂 😂 😂
I recommend everyone to turn off their sound and just look at his face. You won't be able to stop laughing 😂😂😂😂😂

that tone is really getting on my nerves 50 riffs in...
i found myself making the same faces as him while he was playing Feel the rock bro got yourself a sub xDXDXD

there are annotations that show up for every riff.
If your on mobile it won't show
I had to shut it off after 20 seconds of those faces. Im sure the guitar was good though

Honestly, its pretty sloppy. Esp Thunderstruck which is a disgrace.
Ended with my favourite. Well done! That must have taken a huge amount of work.
I like learning songs, and most of the 200 are my favorite songs that I play and had learned over the years, so it wasn't too bad.
Your facial expression look like your dropping a 35:33
nice face lol
and guitar too lol
:O
Um the guitar is fucking sick..

nice playing...I know and appreciate all of the work put into playing so many riffs. Do you have a song list for these..alot I didn't recognize
timothy gould thanks, the first 133 songs are titled in the above description section.
whats wrong with his face
His faces are just annoying lol
True haha
no way it makes the video!! lol

I think this is pretty cool. I like watching these videos to learn different technics and what not. Thanks for upload!
His facial expressions made the video way better. Greatest Guitar Player on RUclips

Very cool compilation, you know a lot of riffs!
Thanks for sharing!

You're a great guitarist and I sure couldn't do 200 in one take. I bet it took ages to remember all those guitar riffs, so well done to you.
