I remember seeing Urwerk for the very first time almost 20 years ago in a watch s store in Miami Beach and I instantly feel in love and said the rose gold 103 is my favorite watch in the world, and that still holds true today!
well thought out video and presentation, great to hear their philosophy and initial conception of the UR-101. excited to see their future developments!
I love your videos! And your accent is charming while you deliver modern and American phrases: "You may need to be The Rock to wear it" and "Even though this video was long, it could have been longer!" LOL
Terrific new series. Perhaps consider focusing the title: "Who's Who of INDEPENDENT watchmaking; standing alongside the more mainstream companies ( notice how I avoided the word brand!). My vote for next episode: Laurent Ferrier. Great job, M-AD. Viva The WatchesTv.
That clock at 1.58 sec is beautifully constructed l love it. Urwerk make fascinating time pieces, at 11.55 sec is one of them. And the EMC speaks for it's self. l love watching the watch makers do their thing. Thanks Marc 👏👏👏🕶👓
Great video of one of my all-time favourite independent haute horological makers! However, I am saddened that one of the famous watches in the world was not featured or mentioned in this video: the Harry Winston Opus 5 by Felix Baumgartner of Urwerk, with Maximilian Büsser at the helm of Harry Winston Rare Timepieces as CEO at the time. I believe this watch, alongside Ulysse Nardin's Genghis Khan/Classic Trilogy 889-70, Issey Miyake OvO (via Seiko Instruments; I own this watch though it is in poor condition), Tokyo Flash PIMP watches (original TF, not what it is now), and an old simple cheap Seiko Quartz watch for my 16th birthday, are the watches that set alight my fascination with haute horology in my later life. I cannot afford any haute timepieces (best I can do is Xeric watches, which I love), but Opus 5 was definitely THE watch that inspired me to fall in love with Urwerk, later MB&F when it came to be, Credor, and Ressence. It also led me to this channel, my favourite of all watch YT channels :) Otherwise, fantastic video as always :D
TheWATCHES.tv OMG Opus video incoming HELL YES! Glad my notification is switched on for this channel; can't wait! 😉 And thanks dude; for me it's never about cost, but interesting and unusual watches, or ones that have character, like almost all of Fiona Krüger timepieces, and Manufacture Contemporaine du Temps (MCT), are more important. Cost is relative but should not be the barrier to say which is better or not. A timepiece can be beautiful at any price, but some are just enthralling. I look out for that magic. The passion is in the little details, and the final execution. Sure, some of the watches I mentioned are very cheap but so what they still instill great pleasure to me, which is the whole point, right? Anyway, can't wait for more videos from you, especially Harry Winston's Rare Timepieces Opus project! 😄
I do like Urwerk's watches - they are interesting & different. My issue with them, though, is that I think their older models feel dated now, and the new one's will too in time.
All the respect for the great entrepreneurs. One of the best vision of the industry is found in Urwerk. Many thanks, Mark for this piece!
You are very welcome, thanks!
i know I am pretty randomly asking but do anybody know a good website to stream newly released tv shows online ?
Bravo MAD! Fantastic to Urwerk as the first non-group Who's Who of Watchmaking! That's the most talkative I've ever seen Felix!
Hahaha, I know, very proud of this achievement!!! Thanks for the comment

You are very right, but I have good news as we will indeed do a special on the Opus adventure and like your taste!

I just love Urwerk watches, but price is an issue... But I suppose that's part of the commitment
As you say ;)
Merci, très intéressant :-D
Urwerk is not to my taste but its fascinating to get inside the mind of the creators. :)
Great!
4:35 , best part we all know the master of complication :) hahah... Frank Muller with the ETA movement ...^^
Rotary engine in a watch?! Fab!
i wonder how many do they sell with these watches
Approximately 150 pieces per year.
I do like Urwerk's watches - they are interesting & different. My issue with them, though, is that I think their older models feel dated now, and the new one's will too in time.
Richard Ryan
I think the same, except for the emc, it has a rugged military look.
Intersting thoughts
I taught it was rather short
Ok, ok ;)
Electro swing and modern Haute Horologie. Have I died and ascended?
Haha, stay with us please!!
This Video in German would be great. In general, German would be great. Many watchmakers can speak German ;)
They have courage....I hope Urwerk will resist on the market in the coming years.
We all do !!!
that background. what is that?
Evolutionary!
Good wording!!!!!!
It's easy to see this is the most obsessed guy
Why do they spell "Uhrwerk" wrong?
Because its cooool. And maybe they refer to the meaning of germ. Ur meaning original.
❤️⌚️
uhm that is not my werk.
EMC is dope
Like your comment…. At least elaborate.
I just got bored after 6 minutes,,Shame about the glasses,! 😂😂😂🤮🤮
Bist du ein schweizer?
Sicher!!!
