    Where would you cut off the Revival? And what would you call this current era?

    The current era we're in, is what me and another buddy calls the "Disney Depression", and it began as soon as 2020 began.

      Oh, that's a great one! Definitely applies to the broader Disney umbrella with all their subdivisions and franchises.

    Great points and awesome message at the end there! I also really like your idea for the name! Gives me those frosty feelings 😅

    Also, I don’t understand the school of thought that Revival started with Princess and a Frog. That movie flopped, didn’t it? I’d suggest starting it with ether Bolt as that was when storytelling had become good again, or better with Tangled which was a big hit in any sence

    • @TheSandbox_Official
      @TheSandbox_Official  4 месяца назад +3

      Firstly it definitely wasn’t a “flop”. It wasn’t an instant classic or huge commercial success like Frozen, but it did moderately well and was also positively received by critics.
      Secondly, I did not decide the previous era cut-offs. This is what the community chose as the “norm” way back in late 2000’s / early 2010’s. However, I think the fact that this film ended the string of 3D animations (going back to traditional hand-drawn 2D) AND was another Princess film after a decade-long drought, it makes sense that it kicked off the Revival. Tangled cemented that the following year. At least that’s how understand the logic behind the eras.
      I have seen some place Bolt at the start of the Revival and I don’t 100% disagree with it, but it’s certainly not the popular placement within the online community.

    Who bracketed/categorized or came up with these cut offs? & how widespread is it’s “use”?

    • @TheSandbox_Official
      @TheSandbox_Official  4 месяца назад +1

      It’s been a fan activity for decades now. The cut-offs are fluid but if you google the eras you’ll see how most categorize the “norm”. I made these visuals here for this video just as a visual aid. Hope that helps!

      @@TheSandbox_Official oh shit u made the visual urself? bless thank for that fr🙏but also, be aware of putting things into oversimplified categories &/or talking about em in certain accidentally-fueling ways without statements to avoid misconceptions, cuz it usually also leads to fueling the bias of simple minded people who over-generalize & umbrella-criticize stuff like for example with some of the things here, they demonize em just for being under one company under one era when the creative processes within each studio & their own anger towards, & efforts against, the obstacles disney proper’s been creating, should be considered here & not dismissed as these lead to unjustly demonizing people who are literally trying to make creating easier & actually make it work under complex management & exec systems & sometimes they do make it work but cuz of bias & negative expectations leading up to it’s release it makes people see things or “overly-done” things that aren’t really there or aren’t really overly done or even less: mandated to be overly done. Like plz we gotta emphasize the devide between conspiracy theorist, hate baiters, & grifters, to actually understanding media analyzers & smart talk show hosts

    Just because many of Disney’s movie’s flopped does not mean they are all bad

    • @TheSandbox_Official
      @TheSandbox_Official  4 месяца назад +1

      I definitely agree. Tried hard in making sure this breakdown reflects that sentiment. Some have been less well received either at the box office, critically, or both. But there have been some that are genuinely great films!

      It later become a mini success with a re issue in 96
      Bolt was s hit with the critcs, box office and audience upon it relase
      Also became the first Disney film to get a Oscar nomination for 5 years
