Frances a true great gourgeus Lady and the movie unforgiven great stunning movie, thanks you lord Rob Word of Word on Westerns laird of the Word manor ✌️, and Clint eastwod is always good 😊 🤠🤠🤠🤠🤟, thanks from tom your friend always
Unforgiven was an excellent movie and of course based on a true story. I really enjoyed this interview with Frances Fisher oh, Rob. Thank you for bringing her in for this interview oh, it brought so much to light about her in her past as well oh. I've always liked her movies and her acting because I thought you were superb. And she is a lovely individual as well. And a great guest.
L😍ved Frances Fisher portrayer of the mother in Titanic. Yeah, 'Unforgiven' was one of the greatest western classic of all time. L💫VED this interview. Thanks so much. 🤗😎👍
Great interview Rob. I have to say the unforgivin came along at a time westerns had been somewhat neglected and Clint certainly must of sensed that. Speaking of strong female roles the beguiled was another Clint movie with strong female characters which is up there with Clint s best
Wow how interesting ! Assuming Clint has declined invitations to be interviewed. He certainly seems quite a unique character. Received my Patreon postcard today! All the way to Perth Australia. Thank you.
I really enjoy getting to know your guests, Rob. After seeing her in many roles over the years, it's great to see and hear the real Frances, and listen to her insights into the movie entertainment industry.
Frances Fisher played an ingenue on "The Edge Of Night" who was the daughter of a crime lord and she became a police detective. Her romance with fellow detective Steve Guthrie was a major love story on the show during the late 70's.
I thought I remembered her being a cop. I was a teen (grad High School in 1978) and did not get to watch 'Edge' very often, but I remember her. David Hileman, I am so glad for your comment. It's nice to know I remembered correctly. She is a great actress.
I enjoyed that... I had to go to the movies by myself to see Clint's movie at the time. It was pretty brutal so with youngsters at the time they stayed home.
Claudia’s Theme has to be one of the best scores for a movie, I know we’re not keeping score, but Frances appears in two Best Picture winners, Unforgiven in ‘92 and her best known role in Titanic in ‘97. She looks great, so does Clint, bless them both.
Well, that certainly was a horse of a different color. You asked the right questions. You could tell direct Clint talk was off the table. Only referenced by her daughters name. I'm guessing that The Edge of Night, like all the soaps were basically audition platforms., Have to say. though The Unforgiven really was an Oscar level film. Incredible movie. Great interview Rob
Great movie! Thanks for doing this interview with Frances Fisher, Rob! I have Unforgiven on DVD, but all my DVD's are still packed away from when my wife and I moved to Hawaii from Utah. Watching your interview this afternoon made me decide I'd buy Unforgiven from Amazon Prime. Didn't rent it, we purchased it. We'll get our money's worth out of this purchase over the years to come. Thanks again for your always expert interviews with the wonderful folks you speak to! Andy McKane, Sunday, 7 November 2021.
I assume this is another expanded version of an earlier episode, and it's is VERY interesting! Whenever I learn a thing, it makes the time worthwhile. I learned a FEW things this time out. Thanks yet again, Rob!
Yep, MJ. Expanded by more than double as I look for new material. We will be resuming production of new interviews at The Autry beginning Jan 18, 2022. I’m really excited about doing new shows again.
Well... I've watched that movie (Unforgiven) 50 times and could watch it over and over again. But even though I live in British Columbia/Canada, I didn't know that movie was made in Alberta Canada!!! It had to be made by the border with British Columbia/Canada, because Alberta has a only few mountains and those are on the border with British Columbia. Thanks for that info.
Great interview, Rob. I expect that this was recorded prior to the production of 'Rust', so we, unfortunately, are provided no additional insight's from one of the principal actors.
Yet Another Eastwood great western. Liked Hostiles too. However I'm now watching a cult favorite of mine, "Cowboys and Aliens" Certainly not a typical western but I really enjoyed the sci-fi weaved into the Old West. Perhaps it's just the geek in my but I find it most entertaining and enjoyable. Keep posting these.
Interesting show Rob, as always. I'll have to admit I've only seen a couple of movies Frances Fisher was in and knew almost nothing about her. I thought she was British, maybe because, to me, she reminds me of Maggie Smith. Thanks for another enjoyable episode, Rob!!!
I'd like to see you talk about The Unforgiven starring Burt Lancaster, Audrey Hepburn, Audie Murphy and others, to include the great Canadian actor Joseph Wiseman. Certainly one of the very best Westerns ever made. Far better than Eastwood's Unforgiven.
They were wonderful, hazz, but maybe you've missed OPEN RANGE, HOSTILES and this year's OLD HENRY. A few still get made. I'm looking forward to the YELLOWSTONE prequel next month, 1883, with Sam Elliott and with my fingers crossed!
My neighbor took me to see this movie and she didn’t go for the violence so she took a nap and I kept an eye on her purse and mine while eating the popcorn and watching the movie Now after so many years I don’t remember much about it except her taking a nap my husband’s kids gave it to us and he read what it was about and he doesn’t want to see it guess my stomach isn’t up to seeing it now but happy so many people got to see BC it’s lovely 😊!
@@AWordonWesterns Didn’t dawn on me that your guest was in the movie “Titanic” as well. To many movies and the actors are jumbling together. She provided good performances all all those that I saw that she was in. Added to the art.
I understand why people love that film, and there are some truly great scenes in it. But it is not one of my favorites. For a lot of reasons. Too dark and no heroes to name a couple (strange really, cuz next to westerns, Film Noir is maybe my second favorite genre)... and really, the only one in it I could feel any sort of affinity for was Gene Hackman's Sheriff. Who was supposed to be the villain.
Clint always picks a cool hat in his westerns.
Francis is a bright, fun, thoughtful lady (Great smile).
Very entertaining interview to watch.
Nice Lady - great interview
Have not heard an interview with Ms. Fisher before. And did not know her breath of work. Very interesting stories.
Clint did a wonderful job of showing off Alberta, and Francis absolutely nailed her role!
she was GREAT.
"you ain't even gonna whip 'em?"
Another great interview, Rob. Loved Frances Fisher's stories. Can't wait to see the movie again!

I always anticipate the next A Word on Westerns as much as any series. Love these forays into the back stories of my favorite genera.

Nice interview, thanks. I could listen to her stories all day.

What a great film, and what great performances from everyone, Gene Hackman was incredible as was the Duck of death Richard Harris.
...and his chronicler, Saul Rubinek.
Great interview Rob. I have to say the unforgivin came along at a time westerns had been somewhat neglected and Clint certainly must of sensed that. Speaking of strong female roles the beguiled was another Clint movie with strong female characters which is up there with Clint s best
Fantastic interview with a beautiful Lady..... she is so honestly direct it is refreshing and attractive

really enjoyed this, Frances Fisher is such a nice lady
My niece's son ( 3 years old) loves watching Rawhide. He's glued to it, very strange.

Yeah, awesome actress. One of the great pioneers of the 70's and onward. 🤗😎👍

A great interview and what a classy lady. And the movie was not to shabby either. Every time it comes on, I watch it.

Congratulations Mr. Rob Word, another fantastic interview! 👏👏👏
One of my favorite movies till this day

Rob your videos are great. THANK you Frank from montana...

Yeah, Maggie Smith. They could be sisters.
@@hiramnoone You're right Hiram, I think Frances would have been convincing as Dame Maggie's younger sister in a movie. They're both great actresses.
@@takkmoran9770 You caught it first. The resemblance is so strong, can't figure why I didn't see it right away.

This interview on a film I’ve not seen. Very interesting, I’ll have to find it to watch.
Rob, I like your closing music. 🤠
Thanks, Sue
David Peoples could really write hard boiled scripts. Wish he'd directed more. Written more.
I'll be a seeing ya this week RW. Looking forward to it.
odd how at 14:11 Frances and the two men flanking her are the only ones not smiling. :/ Love the channel Rob keep'em comin'
Tombstone and Unforgiven were the last of the great Western genre.
They were wonderful, hazz, but maybe you've missed OPEN RANGE, HOSTILES and this year's OLD HENRY. A few still get made. I'm looking forward to the YELLOWSTONE prequel next month, 1883, with Sam Elliott and with my fingers crossed!

this movie should be free to view
The unforgiven is up there with Shane, the Searchers and the Wild Bunch.
Rob: Great interview. Was she Clint’s ex?
Yes, ex girlfriend, Ken. Francesca is their daughter.
