    Good job fixing the grill guard and top link and remotes. Always appreciate someone DIY rather than sending it to the dealer. Next you have to add expanded metal to the grill guard if you're going to be moving brush piles around like that with your grapple. It's on my To-Do list also. Well done.....🍻👍🤠

    Liked your technique "don't force it, use a bigger hammer" . Liked the "chain-drive" pulling procedures. I would "re-gusit-tron" by putting another 1/4-5-16" plate in front of present "butter quality steel" angle-lated flex-a-matic stock brackets to "triangle-a-late" & rigid-a-fye the assembly, plus "grid-a-fye" the whole brush guard assembly. When out in the "Forest" on "Ramming-speed" adventures you need all the help you can get! I am expecting my "Royalty check" for my patented chain storage kitty-litter bucket kit.( Just kidding). I use them for Everything. I needs myself a "top &tilt" kit for custom gradeing procedures. One never stops "Customising " their Tractor. THANKS for the great Video Sir and happy safe tractoring.

    Nice job on repairs. I have same tractor except cab model and same hydraulic top link. I broke mine when I raised blade all the way up and damaged the cylinder valve fittings hitting fuel tank so be careful. Some guys mount with Valve on bottom to help clearance.

    • @HeideHomestead
      @HeideHomestead  3 года назад +1

      Thanks. That’s what I’m afraid of, doing more damage. Especially to the fuel tank bringing something all the way up and in. I was considering flipping it to the bottom, but my concern there was the hoses potentially dropping into PTO shaft brush hogging or using any other PTO driven implements. If I can figure out a hose hanger, I’ll probably do that.

    Have they rk 25, ran about a 100 ft with a sub soiler for line installation, about the first 80ft had roots anywhere from a half inch to two and a half inch,I'm am stunned a what it ripped through.very happy.

    Flip the hydraulic cylinder upside down (pipe down) or put the cylinder towards the implement? Too bad it can't put that pipe sideways. I love the way you fixed your brush guard. Really should have a sturdier mount.

      I just tried that when I mounted my new quick hitch, was originally worried about hoses being too close to PTO shafts, but it works perfect. Good suggestion.

    I welded 1/4 inch mesh wire on my brush guard to keep everything out from front of my tractor grill and also put a brace on each side of my grill so i would not bend it, maybe you can try turning your hydralic cylinder over and put block on bottom and give you somemore room,but that is my thoughts good luck with what ever you do...

    • @HeideHomestead
      @HeideHomestead  2 года назад

      I’m considering something similar for my guard. Since I don’t have power yet on the property and don’t have a decent generator yet, have to wait to fab up something. I flipped it down like you suggested when I mounted the new quick hitch. Works perfectly. Was originally worried hoses might hang too low and contact a pto shaft, but so far so good!

    Bought the RK granite grapple with my tractor. 15 hours in it developed a cylinder leak. Took it back to RK in Ocala Fl where I bought it. Brian the manager took the info and said he would call when the part came in meanwhile keep using it. Been about a month and when I called Brian no longer there and no info on parts ordered. But was told they would try to contact Brian to get info and call me back. Still waiting. Hope this is not how things are going to go for service on my tractor.

    • @HeideHomestead
      @HeideHomestead  2 года назад +2

      Sorry to hear that. Two thoughts. First, since the granite grapple is made for RK by Top Dog, there is probably some sort of warranty process for repair or parts with Top Dog. Each of the vendors that RK uses for supplying parts will probably have their own unique challenges. I ran into a challenge with the trailer I purchased with my RK37, and my RK store had to do some coordination with the trailer manufacturer (Carry-On). Second, all dealers are different because they have different people. Hopefully the problem was an isolated situation and the change means better service after the fact. Hope the new people are more action than words. As far as service on the actual tractor itself goes, I've mostly heard very positive things across the brand. Which is what my experience has been at just over 125 hours now.

      @@HeideHomestead Off topic a bit but I was trying to decide between 37&55 for our 30 acre (20 woods, 8 acres pasture brush/weeds) in S. Ind.
      Your thoughts?

    • @HeideHomestead
      @HeideHomestead  2 года назад +1

      Sure, I'll give you my thoughts. What are you planning to use it for? I was debating between the 37 & 55 and settled on the 37 for a couple reasons. Most of my 28 acres is timber, and pretty thick not well managed timber at that. Planning to use the tractor in the timber for improvements, the 37 fits way better due to the smaller width and wheelbase. If your woods are more open then the 55 may fit just fine. Both machines can easily handle 6ft PTO and 3point implements. However, if you are ever thinking of doing regular pasture work like trying to get into bailing hay, then you would have to go 55 to run those bigger pieces of equipment. The 37 is a beast, but the PTO hp just isn't enough for sustaining crop work. Then there is the price difference. I could have gotten the 55 easily, but when looking at value, the 37 was able to do all the things I really wanted it to and I was able to buy more attachments and implements for the same price point. That helped me get the box blade, brush hog, grapple, pallet forks, and backhoe with my 37 all in one package. The other thing is cab or open station? I went with open station because I knew I would probably break the cab on my property. Eventually, once I get all my clearing done that I want, I might go to a 55HC. The 55 has more power and lift capacity, but do you really need that little bit of additional lift capacity in a loader? The only thing the loader on my 37 hasn't lifted like I wanted was a giant pallet of bagged concrete from the bed of my truck. I had to unload half of it by hand to get it light enough for the 37 to pick up. I don't know that the 55 would have handled that much better due to load balance. Both are solid machines. Hope this offered some help.

    If you hadn't said that was a kitty litter container, it looks very much like the buckets that hardware stores get chain delivered in.

    A couple of easy fixes. Ralph or Ralf would be a perfect name "King Ralph"

    • @HeideHomestead
      @HeideHomestead  3 года назад

      I like the idea of an ‘R’ name, so Ralph is a good option. Another that my buddy suggested was ‘Rocky’ or even ‘Rick’ to play on the RK. I just don’t like to referring to it as ‘my RK tractor’, seems superfluous.

    I've been looking at the RK 37 for a good while now and also the Kioti 3510. I think the RK may win out and my local store just got a new RK 37 in with shuttle shift, just what I wanted. Wondering what you think of the quality and if you would still buy it over again? So many choices and a good chunk of cash, being raised on the big name ag brands feels scary going a new direction.

    • @HeideHomestead
      @HeideHomestead  2 года назад

      I think the RK37 is definitely worth considering. I would definitely buy it again. It is a tank of a tractor. However, I’m dealing with a steering issue in full transparency. Rural King fixed it by replacing the steering valve and cylinder. During break in period a couple pieces of tiny metal shavings found their way to steering. They fixed it. After they flushed the hydraulic fluid, everything was good for a short period of time. However another a piece that was stuck in the system messed up the replacement cylinder. So I’m working with them to get it fixed again. Total fluke accident and have never heard of anyone else having this issue. Under warranty so it’s covered. The thing I’m not a fan of, TYM manufactured tractors (Branson, Mahindra, etc) don’t sell replacement seal kits for cylinders, otherwise I would have just rebuilt the steering cylinder myself. Not sure if Kioti does either. I love my tractor, and would have considered Kioti if they were local to me. I’ll be making a video on it soon. Hope it doesn’t discourage you, just keeping it real. Still would buy again.

      @@HeideHomestead Thanks for the reply. Local RK is 6 miles down the road and the closest Kioti dealer is an hour away and it's hard to find any brand in stock right now. I have always followed Outdoors with the Morgan's and Mike seemed to like the RK's. I feel pretty confident with going with the 37. Thanks again.

      @@HeideHomestead I just bought an RK37 w/cab, used it for 50 hours and doing my 50 hour maint. Love the tractor and it is a work horse. For my needs though I should have gotten the 55 as I need to safely lift 1600 lb hay bales and the bulk is a tad much for the 37 it does it just not as safely due to distance from the pivot point with the fork lifts I need more weight to handle the weight farther out. I will have to get a weight box to gain more safety margin the hydraulics are more than strong enough though as is on the 37!!
