You should try all the clear colours also on transparent spoons to check the real tone. Usually the use of these colours is for car lights and so on. That'd be interesting to see

The clear blue over the right color can basically replicate the Tamiya spray TS-53 Deep Metallic Blue. I made a wing zero kit using vallejo dark gun metal as the base with the clear blue over it. Came out amazing

I'm doing wing zero for my wife, any tips on some good colors to make it really stand out?

    • @lifeinjersey9846
      @lifeinjersey9846 2 года назад +1

@@jerryglennie5375 well the Tamiya clears over chrome give the best candy color. But the blue is too light for wing zero.
      Vallejo Model Gunmetal Grey.
      Vallejo Metal Gunmetal,
      Vallejo Metal Burnt Iron,
      Vallejo Metal Exhaust Manifold
You want a metallic as dark as possible to be the undercoat for the Tamiya Clear Blue.
For the Red of Wing Zero use a Silver. I used Vallejo Model Air Silver as the undercoat.
Gold can be whatever gold you like.
But for the blues definitely go with a darker metallic undercoat like Iron or a dark Gunmetal because if its a light colored metallic underneath the clear coat will be too light and it will look weird for wing zero

    • @lifeinjersey9846

@@robertmassucci1 tamiya spray can isn't exactly cheap. Granted its like $7 or $8 but remember its a spray can so its not as precise and its wastes a lot more paint than an airbrush. And with kits like the wing zero ver ka you might need 2 cans compared to just a but of a dark metallic and clear blue

I recently painted a 1/10 scale RC body(Porsche 911 GT3 for a TT-02) using clear blue and gunmetal with a black backing. It's darker than I originally wanted(darker than your example too), but it looks fantastic. I'm also building an MG Sinanju and I'm pretty sure it's going to get clear red over a gun metal base for all the red parts. I kinda wish the smoke would get a little darker so that I could do the black parts too, but I might go with flat black.
Also to your note about smoke being used as window tint; that's exactly what it's used for in the RC hobby. It's usually the last thing that you spray after you remove the window masks, but the Polystyrene formulation of smoke out of a rattle can is very thin and runs faster than a cheetah so I personally never use it.

One of the few paints I have found that one thick coat is as good if not better than many thin coats. I have sprayed these through a £10 mini hvlp gun with 0.8mm needle with no thinning. Due to its 'sticky' properties you can lay it on quite thick and it doesn't run. Did a whole metallic green salamander space marine army in about 30mins. Used a few pots but it saved me a huge amount of time.

I have used Smoke, Green, & Yellow for window tint & Orange, Red & Green for coloring lights. I shot these non diluted on my train car windows, which obscured the interior so I wouldn't need to add passengers & interiors, or lighting. Also at the time I used a Paasche H3 to shoot the water based paint. I've used heavily thinned orange on Bright White LEDs to warm the color. Also seems the bottles are 1/2 full from what I remember.
A hard to find clear is a Mr. Color (I think) Clear Gold. This one is great for the gold anti radiation coating like you see on an A-6 Intruder which off angle looks solid gold, but head on you can see thru. Takes some practice. I like this for all my canopies on my space fighters.
I never thought to use these for auto paint. Thanks for the idea.

@@barbatosrex9473 sorry to bother you again😄😄😄 I found the SMS Hyperchrome; however, there are 3 "categories": 1) Cold tone 2) Warm tone 3) Dark tone. Which one of those 3 did you use? I want to make sure that I get the same results than you.

Nice demonstration video. I'd like to see how it looks on clear plastic as well. I'm trying to figure out how to turn a clear yellow toy airplane canopy to clear red. (Someone has done it, but they didn't explain how.)

Have you seen clear spoons in stores? My local grocery store has store-branded ones, but I haven’t looked in Walmart and other places. It would be interesting to see these over a clear object.

No clear spoons? I think that would have been neat to add. Thought about using it on some clear body kits
