One of my favorite videos. What I love about this is it also gets the weigh shift without worrying about. I’m watching your hips go forward as you start, and you don’t have to think about. The right shoulder down and around just makes it happen. Had my best game with this. Great job!🎉
You have quickly become my favourite go to for all instructional videos!! Not only great drills but you are a top tier communicator! Keep them coming please
Hey Eric, I especially liked this vid! Someone who really does this right shoulder thing that are describing is Brooks K. His swing is so different now than when he was swinging while coming back from injuries. I could see something was different, but I couldn't tell the what, or how or why of it until today. I've got some targeted work to do, which I love! Thanks
This is 100% my biggest swing issue. Too many rounds hitting it thin or rotating out of my posture and smothering the ball low and left. Can't wait to keep practicing this. The left knee forward definitely helped me with driving that trail shoulder through the ball. Next step will be getting an online lesson 😁
Hope this one helps ya Ben! Sounds good on online lesson----our free trial just went back live now to November so I'll analyze your swings and build you a practice plan risk free...make sure you get in before end of NOV for that www.cogornogolf.com/freetrial
Eric- I get more out of your sessions than any other instruction and have zeroed in on what you teach. I got several things out of this beside the obvious- 1] I know I'm not turning enough, 2} not moving target wise enough, and 3} the right knee move toward the target is helping me square off to the target in balance. Appreciate all you do for the golfing community. Be well-Russ
I like your video's! learned a lot. Trying as hard as possible to skip and not look at the 'what not to do parts'. As a believer in visualization I try to not let my brain see and remember what Not to do 😅
A good rule that I came up with the other day regarding where to aim your lead shoulder on the backswing (the ball wall as it's described here) is to simply put the line 1 club length away from the ball. Your spine angle is more upright with a 5w compared to a PW, so use the respective club you are hitting to estimate where to put that ball wall.
Great lesson Eric! I always enjoy watching you swing and especially your footwork (left foot in particular). I would request that you do a lesson on footwork. Seemingly all good players move their feet like you do, whereas with less left foot movement that is flatter impacts the ability to rotate through impact properly.
Thank you!! Here's some on footwork/legwork you may enjoy! ruclips.net/video/wKNX_7tkN5o/видео.html&pp=ygUWRXJpYyBDb2dvcm5vIGxlZnQgZm9vdA%3D%3D ruclips.net/video/S-sWOuNt_O8/видео.html&pp=ygUWRXJpYyBDb2dvcm5vIGxlZnQgZm9vdA%3D%3D ruclips.net/video/0vJn7x-wvp4/видео.html&pp=ygUXRXJpYyBDb2dvcm5vIHJpZ2h0IGZvb3Q%3D
Yep....did that one here you should like: Its more the LEAD shoulder checkpoints here but solves the same problem: ruclips.net/video/zqoxhAatv1U/видео.html
The shoulders on the downswing are where you hands normally should be so the drill is legit. Been doing it for years and it has straightened me out when it gets off. A good on the course pre shot too if you have extra time.
I did notice in the videos used for demonstration that there was a slight shift or recentering towards the target just before the backswing was completed. Does that account for some of the forward movement of the trail shoulder as well?
First met the idea in a ultra short Chris Como video with Chuck Cook, it struck me as huge, because so contrarian to what is always taught, it clarifies this difficult transition phase if the right shoulder stays behind, and you added crucial ideas like the ball fwd, which enables wgt tft, etc … 👍
Hey! That would be awesome! We are in Boca Raton, FL for most of the year (OCT-MAY) but will be back in PA for summer next year (JUNE-SEPT) IF you send an email to "service@cogornogolf.com" with headline "lessons" we will get you on the priority list for when we open spots for next summer
You explained this perfectly, Eric. Down, under, and THROUGH. The key to this is right side bend through impact. Or, if they achieve right side bend, they often lean back on their right foot to do it. Fats, and thins. Just like you pointed out. GREAT video, my friend.

This one was an 'Ah Ha' moment for me. I'll be doing this drill in my living room this winter as the Colorado weather gets colder. Thank you!!
You got it Marv---hope this one serves you well : )

Thanks Russ! Appreciate that-----golf swing, as is life....is a never ending process of trying to improve (as you know) :)
Eric excellent this is all a golfer need to hit ball solid. I think forward shift is very important. I am 82 breaking 80 now.
Thank you! Agreed! Love it---thats awesome playing!!
Eric is a good instructor because he is a good communicator.
Thank you Geoffrey!!
Thank you Eric, this is one heck of a great lesson. :)
Thank you!
Another great demonstration !!! Thanks, Erick !!!!

Brilliant! I hope you do a different one for driver because its slightly different i.e. you have to stay behind the ball?
Yep....did that one here you should like:

So hard to break muscle memory. Been trying to incorporate the down first move. Thanks for showing this.
Takes time for sure!! My pleasure
Excellent video plenty to work on👊
Thanks Jay!
This is great. Thank you!!

Hey! SOME yes
Massive idea, for me this is as close to the secret of golf as one can get. 😅🎉
Its a big one :)

ERIC, I would really like a LIVE lesson. I live in Palmerton, PA. Just 30-40 min from Bethlehem. How can I do this?

That's information . coach . In Form Motion . .
Thanks!
Skip that stone. Perfect timing

Yes! Thanks Jamie!!
It's almost like you need to train your eye in a way that instead of targeting the ball you need to target your front foot.
Hey Rich! That CAN be a good FEEL for some--yep!
Does not help a senior golfer with lesser range of motion.
Hey Steven! Thanks for watching and the feedback!
