I agree- thankful for technology so we can connect with other book nerds. Our Bradbury group is the best! I'm glad you're starting back up your short story club, too. I hope to participate this time.
I’m going to try for just one short story a month, but I’m not really going to stress out if I miss it. If there’s anything the last month or two taught me, it’s important to go easy on yourself!
Glad to see you back! Rereading Mansfield Park is a stretch goal for me this month once I finish Sense and Sensibility. Moby Dick is one of the few books I consider my nemesis… I just completely quit every time! Your family collection of books sounds lovely and very special.
I’m so excited you’re rereading Barnaby Rudge, Art! I absolutely loved it-the riot scenes are some of the most visceral and gripping writing by Dickens that I’ve read!!
Hey Art! Good to see you! I am so sorry to hear that your father passed. My prayers to you and your family. I’m glad you are feeling better. I look forward to your JA TBR and I don’t think she will mind if you discuss Dickens in July. 😂
I just reread Dandelion Wine with Tiffany's Patreon! I love it so much. I'm a weirdo who loves Christmas all year long too! Much to my husband's chagrin. Glad to see you back.
My dad was a fighter pilot in the pacific. He said the same thing as your grandfather. When my dad died I read his Rumpole of the Bailey books. It really helped me cope.
Oh boy, sorry you’ve had a rough time, Art. Really sorry to hear about your dad… I lost my mom last year. Glad to hear your health is improving…. It’s about time you catch a beak! I have wanted to try Moby Dick for a long time, but I feel like it’s one I won’t get to until I retire 😜. It sounds like Lady Chatterly’s Lover may be one you’d like for GarbAugust, if you haven’t read it already. I’m planning to read Dandelion Wine and Something Wicked this Way Comes (with Gareth) this fall. I’m also a Christmas freak…. Even did some Dickens fireside readings this past December.
I remember watching those on your channel (I think it was you anyway! 😂) I have not read Lady Chatterly’s Lover - I might have to think about that for GarbAugust!
So good to see you, Art. Please take it easy this summer with posting, etc. You've been through a lot these last few months. P.S. love the shirt!!! 😉
I am definitely taking it easy. Well easier than I want to anyway 😂…
Sorry for your loss and that you’ve been unwell - it’s good to see you back, Art!
Thanks Katie! Reading has been a comfort oddly enough.
I really missed making videos, so I'm excited to be back at it!
Great to see you back on youtube, Art! I love that you're getting your dad's books. How special! My big book for the summer is Kristin Lavransdatter
I'm excited to be back! Lots of fun books to talk about!!

That's what I remember too! Well I got a bit behind already and didn't start Rudge until this morning. But it was great!
Sorry to hear about you loss and recent illness. Best wishes with what you choose to read and to your channel.
Thank you! It's good to be back talking about all the wonderful books I get to read.
You have a voice, Art!! It’s so good to see you back in action!!
I can talk! It’s a miracle! 😂 At least my eyes weren’t affected so I could read.

That’s good to know… I’d hate to be haunted by Jane Austen for breaking some rule… wait a minute that would actually be kind of cool lol!😂

It’s always good to meet another Christmas weirdo 😂! I just finished a cozy mystery set at Christmas, and loved it. Helps me fight off the hot temps.
@@ArtBookshelfOdyssey I just finished a Christmas cozy mystery too! No hot temps to stave off in North Idaho though 😂
@@novelideea Which one did you read? I just read Death of a Christmas Caterer by Lee Hollis.
@@ArtBookshelfOdyssey A Cup of Holiday Fear by Ellie Alexander 😁
I am so sorry about your dad’s passing. May he rest in peace. Also so glad you recovered from your illness.

My grandpa didn’t talk much about his time in WWII. I wish he was around to hear more stories!

Thanks man! It’s been a rough year, but things are looking up!
@@ArtBookshelfOdyssey That's good to hear!
The only Zane Grey I have read is Riders of the Purple Sage, but I think that has a strong female character.
Yeah that’s another one that comes to mind, but it’s been ages since I read it.
