I'm not sure what the larger brands today are aiming to achieve with those bright neon lights on the interior... it's quite distracting to have bright lines in your peripheral vision as you try to see outside at night. Probably they just try to cater to younger audiences, and hopefully these can be turned off...
I'm pretty sure it's for the aesthetic; Not just to cater to the younger demographic.
